Brando didn't want Scorsese to make Goodfellas? Imagine if Scorsese directed Godfather woulda made Don Corleone a scummy criminal getting his just desserts
@ Legendary actor. No argument. I’ve read about him to know that he squandered away much of his career and hurt a lot of people (a lot). Great acting doesn’t necessarily translate into making great decisions in their craft.
I did not care for The Godfather. Didn't like it. Look, fine, fine actors. Did not like the movie. It insists upon itself. It takes forever getting in, and then you spend, like, six and a half hours, and then... Y'know, I can't even get through it, I can't even finish the movie. I've never even seen the ending. I get to the scene where all the guys are sitting around on easy chairs... It's not a great scene! I have no idea what they're talking about, it's like they're speaking a different language. That's when I lose interest and I go away.
OUATIA is the best early-days Mafia, better than the DeNiro scenes in Godfather 2. But most of the Godfather is much later than America, and Goodfellas a much later time still. Comparing them against each other is a slight exercise in futility. They're the definitive films of each timeframe.
Godfather, the best film about the coldness of Mafia power
Goodfellas, the best film about the brutality of the Mafia street
That is an excellent observation. ❤
I just discovered your channel and I wanted to say you're doing a good job keeping your videos informative and interesting, nice work!
Oh man I hate the old yelling intro 🤣
??? It wasn't that loud.
@@mackychloeit’s annoying.
Its from Navajo Joe, music by Ennio Morricone
0:07 skip the intro.

I don’t agree that Mean Streets was the only mob movie he made before GoodFellas.Raging Bull is a boxing/mob movie hybrid.
TRES Cool/Heavy
Always listen to Michael Powell!
Casino.
Goodfellas ❤
What did I learn today?
💩

It’s a fair point. But one must also realize the Brando HELPED a lot of people (a lot).
