I remember donating you guys a $100 when your equipment got ripped off in San Francisco. Another $100 for your home studio when you moved to Georgia. I bought all your music LPs and CDs and bought them all signed. I attended the 2 concerts when you got within a 100 miles of my home. I didn't stop when they cut their hair. Or when they changed clothes. And stopped doing Classic Covers. Why then did I drop my Patreon support after more than 6 years? It had nothing to do with the music. I quit after Melody became “Born Again” and kept preaching it. Sorry, keep your religious views to yourself. Nothing turns me off faster than Conservative Politics and Religious preaching. I know myself I had to grow out of the gatekeeper mentality myself. I didn’t even realize that’s what I was at the time. I remember how gutted I was when Metallica when they cut their hair for Load and Reload. After some time I changed and came around. So I definitely understand what you’re talking about. You guys do what you need to do for you and the rest will work itself out eventually.
Liliac is a fantastic band. Another reason bands have a hard time surviving is because people just listen to their music on youtube or file sharing. Costs them nothing and the bands get nothing. I have always encouraged people to buy the CDs, that's how they put bread on the table.

I totally understand what you are saying from a business standpoint but Liliac is a force that doesn't come around very often.They need to stay true to themselves and their vision. Look at AC/DC. Yes they are signed to a label but not over night and they never stopped doing what they wanted no matter if the label liked it or not. The talent Liliac has is on another level. They have already proven how good they are and how versatile they can be. I see how big an inspiration the great Ronnie James Dio has been to Melody. Maybe the fault is your own? I remember when Liliac and The Warning had similar RUclips subs. Liliac had more Facebook and The Warning more instagram and Spotify. Now, look at it. The Warning has 25x more Spotify listeners, 25x+ more Patreons, 4x more instagram followers, 60% more RUclips subs. Not to mention huge brand sponsors like Pepsi, TV performances, award show nominations. They have 3 sold out 10,000 capacity shows in Mexico City and 5000 capacity shows in major European cities. So here is my question: Is Liliac less talented? Have worse management? Both?
The answer is both. You know a band has problems when daddy has to get on the internet and beg for fan support. Not a good sign. If they are losing fan support at home, I wonder how Liliac will fare when they travel overseas. The Warning, on the other hand, will sell a million dollars or more worth of tickets and merchandise for their three shows in Mexico City next week. I suspect that will be more than Liliac might earn for their entire 2025 tour. The Warning is at a completely different level than Liliac..
If you want to be rich and famous, you can always sell your soul to stamp out a hundred pop songs that all sound alike, but the great symphony composers didn't do that, and the pioneers of rock didn't do that. I was a fan of Deep Purple in the 70s and thought each song was supposed to sound different as musicians explored new things and expressed what was in them. I wish I could make Liliac as rich and famous as I feel they should be, but most of the world hasn't even heard of the band yet, so there's still a huge opportunity for growth.

Look, I am an old-school metalhead from the early 80's. Metal and Hard Rock have really never been widely played. Back in the 80's until today, It has always been Pop, Hip-Hop, grunge, etc. that got the radio play and more exposure compared to Metal or Hard Rock. Yes those of us who relished Head Banger's Ball are getting up there in years but we still listen and our kids are exposed to our music and some come to be true Metal fans. It is not within the last decade that this is happening. We have to go out and find music, often searching the underground for artists/bands. In contrast, the new generation goes onto an app and find their choice of music (also there are very few radio stations that play Metal or Hard Rock on the radio). This issue was ALWAYS there. I like some of the older Liliac and the direction they were going keeping the old songs, bands and artists alive, but I am not digging the religious stuff. Nothing wrong with the band doing it, they have to grow and expand but it is not for me. To elaborate on that, I am Pagan and I tend not to listen to xtian music lol, again nothing wrong with that genre of music. To give an example, Stryper came out in the 80's and they had a good following until they began doing xtian music mainly and then handing out bibles during their concert, then they lost a LOT of followers. In short, with MEtal and Hard Rock it will always be up and down as you provided Metallica as an example. They went through some hard years after the Black Album (some even say ...And Justice For All was the beginning) yet they persevered and are among the Gods of Metal. As for monetary support, I was paying $100 a month a few years ago but had to stop because I could not afford it --- and Yes today that includes just $5.00 a month. I am a disabled combat vet and live on a fixed income, just remember that not every one can drop money every month. I still listen to the older stuff and the kids are great. Keep strong and know that it can take a long time to break that ceiling and get huge recognition

And then another album. Pretty good. See them live in a bar. Good, but need some work. Some more cover videos. Wouldn't it be nice to see them do the covers live to camera? They are getting older. Not just a family anymore either. A 3rd album. Some good songs but nothing great. Not quite sure where they are going here. More songs released. Some quite good. Some ok. Opening for 30 year-old bands way past their prime. Not growing on Spotify, youtube, instagram, patreon...More bars. Some better festivals. A European tour? Cool. The promise of another phenomenal album coming...again. The main reason to pay attention is because the songs are longer? Have spent hundreds of dollars. Still listening but...

The ones that turn there backs on a band because of something stupid like cutting their hair isn’t a fan! Those are followers! People who care more about image than actual music! Once the novelty of a young family playing metal wore off, Liliac tried to change their style of music and became a joke. Sam has a lot of talent and could probably hook up with another band. Melody is all over the place with her vocals and I don't see her style of singing catching on. Sad but true.

Liliac is Great and Rock is not dead...the superficial listener likes pop because they are not spiritual or thinkers...they listen to a repeating beat thar haa no substance...there will always be easy listeners or folk and blues, not true fans of rock...i agree thar the look is not the music, but Melody does a phenomenal job wirh that...we will support the real....
One saving grace is that older fans have more money to spend. Young people have never been interested in anything "classic." They are looking for what's new, fresh, revolutionary. That's always been true and will continue to be. Legacy bands will always do well. Classic metal may have small revivals. But for most part, newer sounds like BMTH, Bad Omens, Sleep Token, Maneskin are the ones selling out arenas.
I think you can make your case for metal without putting down more successful artists or criticizing their art for profanity. Metal has its fair share pretty graphic lyrics too. Who cares? Artists should say what they have to say

They don't play ROCK on the radio.. I remember there were FOUR rock radio stations in Detroit. There are two. Eveything is rap, country, pop or a combination. That's what the radio plays. Garbage. Now I live in a rural area. There is literally is ONE Rock and Metal station. It's not you, fans, it's RADIO PROGRAMMERS. They are disconnected from the people. The Classic Rock station was bought out by some huge Christian conglomerate. It's horrible... I can't stand what my 14 yr old grandaughter listens to, it's filthy lyrics about sex.. filthy rap, it's degenerate. It's what's PUSHED.. It's PUSHED on people. People just listen to what's there, they don't think, they just go with trends. 90% of people are also tone deaf and listen to trash from their little phones.

I would have done anything for liliac but that broke my heart man. And the reason rock is dying is because 90% of these new kids this new generation they’re all followers they do whatever everyone else does, like a domino effect when one does it the next one does it and so on.. hopefully y’all make it and keep going, but I definitely understand what you’re talking about..

Once the novelty of a young family playing metal wore off, Liliac tried to change their style of music and became a joke. Sam has a lot of talent and could probably hook up with another band. Melody is all over the place with her vocals and I don't see her style of singing catching on.

Liliac is Great and Rock is not dead...the superficial listener likes pop because they are not spiritual or thinkers...they listen to a repeating beat thar haa no substance...there will always be easy listeners or folk and blues, not true fans of rock...i agree thar the look is not the music, but Melody does a phenomenal job wirh that...we will support the real....
One saving grace is that older fans have more money to spend. Young people have never been interested in anything "classic." They are looking for what's new, fresh, revolutionary. That's always been true and will continue to be. Legacy bands will always do well. Classic metal may have small revivals. But for most part, newer sounds like BMTH, Bad Omens, Sleep Token, Maneskin are the ones selling out arenas.
I think you can make your case for metal without putting down more successful artists or criticizing their art for profanity.
Metal has its fair share pretty graphic lyrics too. Who cares? Artists should say what they have to say
I will always be a Liliac fan. I'm here for the long haul. Love the music. I never cared how musicians wear their hair or the clothes they wear. It isn't relevant to the sound they put out.

I may give rock bands shit myself but it's not the image I really care about , it's the music that matters to me. Yes I have issues with Metallica after the Opus Album but I am never ever a Gatekeeper, and Liliac they are their own animal of rock which means they have to adapt to the times. They don't play ROCK on the radio.. I remember there were FOUR rock radio stations in Detroit. There are two. Eveything is rap, country, pop or a combination. That's what the radio plays. Garbage. Now I live in a rural area. There is literally is ONE Rock and Metal station. It's not you, fans, it's RADIO PROGRAMMERS. They are disconnected from the people. The Classic Rock station was bought out by some huge Christian conglomerate. It's horrible... I can't stand what my 14 yr old grandaughter listens to, it's filthy lyrics about sex.. filthy rap, it's degenerate. It's what's PUSHED.. It's PUSHED on people. People just listen to what's there, they don't think, they just go with trends. 90% of people are also tone deaf and listen to trash from their little phones.

Liliac is NOT Metal. Their a cover band who tries to make metal glamorous. How about getting a job and supporting your family instead of relying on patreons to support you. i supported you guys from the beginning i helped you get that studio and you was gonna have us come out and help build part of it and you let me down. I would have done anything for liliac but that broke my heart man. I'm Jason Jay I get it you had to get it done and cheap as possible but I was really built up about it like a dream come true but like anything it wasn't meant to be in my life.
I went to every show I could I bought merch maybe i did not do the 200 a month but i was a patreon for yrs. I started the video streamers reactions which no one knows because I never lifted me up only liliac for you guys I went on vr in chat rooms i went on you tube lives and requested liliac songs and it grew. I was apart of your discord chat but i started to leave because the live thing with the band was really was not good it was just them talking to each other so I stopped being apart of that . i was always apreciative of them doing it period but it really wasnt what i thought it was supposed to be which was their interest in their fans maybe?. But for me man i considered you one of my good friends and till now I never missed your lives. I would have done anything I could for Liliac. I did do all I could in my circumstance but i couldn't keep being a patreon and supporting a band that let me down. to me you are all liliac. you're best are your 1st 2nd and 3rd albums everything liliac has done so far is amazing! I wont be missed so no biggie but I see you want to know from at least one ex patreon and supporter of liliac what happened...theres more you have my messanger if you want to chat me anytime.
