Honestly I forgot about the hellcannon, that would be a total badass model to see get painted. Also if you ever get some, I'd love to see you paint maybe a few knights of the Empire. speaking of which I wish they'd give Foot Knights back to the Empire as well, when I got into the hobby I remember buying Empire foot knights.
I will indeed do empire knights when ever I get some more. I kind of ruined mine back in the day and threw them out years ago. Very silly move. And ye did love more foot knights.
As someone who records their own videos quite often, I just wanted to say I'm impressed with how little you need to edit/cut your talking. I'm also super nostalgic for a lot of these minis, some were in circulation when I was collecting! It makes me wish I had hoarded a few back then, although I agree that's not the best thing for the hobby.
Totally love it - and would love to see its return... Unfortunately I don't think GW would bring it back as Malakai doesn't exist yet. He is born in 2300, the old world setting 2276 - 24 years before the engineer/slayer's birth.
Good picks, as a warriors of chaos collector i would like to see the 2002 metal knights as they are so much nicer than the 7th-8th edition plastic ones, also i would like to see Archaon on Foot (and indeed Archaon) as they are both superb minis. Apologies if you've done so already but what NEW kits would you like to see? I think that would be a good video, a new plastic Tuskgor/Razorgor Chariot is one thing i think they should do.
@@MediocreHobbies Yup, I didn't realise he was a big character at the time. Birthday 96, my buddy had introduced me to warhamner. Went over to GW bath with money to burn, chose Azhag purely because he looked cool, some black orks, chaos black spray, a starter set of paints plus brushes & glue. Came to about £45 if I recall. Went home and spent the afternoon painting it all horribly.
Interesting video and i agree with youre picks, some real nostalgia in these models and memories from my teen years playing with my friends from school What im personally hoping to see return most is a lot of the plastic scenery kits, both thr modular hill and single piece one frim the same era, the empire fortified manor kit and the dreadstone blight and witchfate tor. You're last comments about forge world made me think about their fantastic scenery too which would be lovely to see back 🙂 All in all my wallet might take a heavy beating over the foreseeable future lol
Hopefully my wood elves will be with you soon good sir, as popped them to the post office yesterday. An idea for a linked video would be your opinions on new plastic sculpts to accompany army releases. For me I would like a plastic orc warboss/shaman on wyvern.
Loved the idea of Malakai coming back for the dwarves, only problem is he wasn’t born until the same period of time as Gotrek and Felix, which means he’s still a few hundred years away.
I would love them to re-release the original Skarsnik and Gobbla minis. My friend had a huge night goblin army and they were always in the centre of it. He hasn't been in the hobby for about 20 years now and I'd love to buy them and give them to him to tempt his m back.
I know I was born in the 90's because my first thought is, "Why didn't he use the old, 'who's that Pokémon?', commercial break outro with one of his favorite classic models blacked out for his video thumbnail image?" Not even a Pokémon fan, but that old nostalgia is a hell of a drug! I'd like to see the old Dwarf Slayer models from the Storm of Chaos Slayer army return. The doomseekers(?) with the axes on chains etc. as well as the old goblin hewer axe thrower despite it not having been invented yet. Just want to own one of those!
My brother actually had a grim gore Iron hide model he was lovely but we at the time didn't realise you had to pin metal miniatures so could never get his axe hand to glue on and it always fell off
The breadth of the orcs & goblins release makes me hopeful we’ll get a lot of this outside of the named characters. War wagon would be particularly exciting.
Lots of good calls there, I’d certainly love to have a War Wagon join my Empire ranks! There’s loads of older models I’d love to see return for that faction, but I think I’d like to see some of the old Reiksgard foot knights come back, or Teutogen Guard. Same problem of not fitting the current canon, and you could argue that their niche is covered by Greatswords, but if Bretonnia can get foot knights then why not. Then there’s the whole Kislev range, but that’s definitely a topic for another day! I’d never seen that LE chaos chap before, but that axe is very Dreadaxe style. A subtle, IP cautious nod to Kaleb Dark maybe?
Actually lucky enough to have those 2 chaos minatures, picked them up on ebay years ago for a good price. For the orcs I'd love to see Azhag released and a super cool one to release would be the orc warboss from Warhammer online age of reckoning that came with the collectors edition game.
I recon they will bring out the elpharion the grim , with his name mount as that’s the current character before endtimes and the eltharion the blind is a retconed version , at least is what I remember, and also the mounted version went away in 7-8th so it’s the most resist version , and I recon we’ll get the blinded version as a lord not named
As a person that has been into this hobby awhile, I have the Army Box BSB, *two* of the games day chaos lords, and also the Storm of Chaos Archaon on foot. I like having them, I like the history of them. I'm not sure I want them in general circulation, but understand why it's appealing. There are players of the game that weren't even born yet when those came out. I understand feeling a bit let down that such a unique and interesting model can't be acquired without paying through the nose from Ebay
@MediocreHobbies when I got the Warriors minis I didn't play Warriors of Chaos yet, but I held onto them! Then I wound up buying out the other WoC players in the area, thus landing me an ungodly huge army. (22,000 pts in early 8th) It keeps growing too!
I'm not Pete the Wargamer, but I am a sculptor? I feel like you could pitch a kitbashing video with Morgar? "Hey, GW, send me a Beast of Nurgle and the new Beastlord(?) and watch me combine them!" I know you're primarily a painter, just a thought I had as I watched.
I want to see a return of the different Empire Knight houses. Always a big fan of the Knights of the Blazing Sun and Knights Panther Grand Master models.
Just Kislev that is all. I dont care to play Old World until then. Looks fun and refreshing seeing FB brought back to life even with new models but Iv moved on from a majority of it. No army available now and soon appeals to me aestheically anymore. Tomb Kings got replaced with Necrons. Orks got replaced hard with the Orruks in AoS, and the one thing I liked about Wood Elves got hyperfocused on and now theres literal trees and they have bugs now which scratches my Tyranid itch. Kislev is the only aesthetic left that hasnt been touched aside from I guess White Scars which isnt enough, so I would like it to stay that way as thats the last army I own.
@@MediocreHobbies its a shame because GW was already showing of Kislev a while back and I guess made a last minute decision to put them on the back burner for now. Id imagine some time after the other armies get revealed theyll maybe hint at some more armies in the future
You missed a very impressive one: Marco colombo from games day 2013. Extremely rare miniature and amazing sculpt... then again, this is probably never going to come for old world since its a lustria miniature and from 200 years after... sad
Controversially I don't think any of these should come back- I'm all for complete range refreshes of new sculpts, even if they are new updated sculpts of old models or characters.
@MediocreHobbies it's all I'm prepared to pay for given the quality of other ranges and also that if the old world in a success that's what's coming down the line...I'd be gutted to buy a re-release range like the old bretonian knights....invest loads of time and then see an updated version of the knights come out....for me personally I don't have enough time to invest in something that might be replaced in a year or so. Not complaining, just where I am at with my hobby - I'll invest my hobby time where I know I'll have satisfied longevity - e.g. New deathwing knights for DA...but give me refreshed range of High Elves for the old workd and I'm there.
While I do have a few 'exclusive' models, I really dislike them. This hobby should be as inclusive as possible. Scarcity has already created a scalping problem and limited-edition things just drive that further. Azhag was my first ever mini back in 96, so I'd love him back. The shaman on the wyvern will be a fine substitute when it gets a release.

New spearmen and archers are needed those kits haven’t been nice in many years lol.
That warwagon would be a nice model to bring back. Nicer, if they were priced at $50, rather than $80 , as GW would do.
They haven’t been bad with old world so far. Except tombkings chariots. Not sure what happened there.
War Wagon, yes please!!
Yuuuup. I want one so bad.
Would be nice if Araby and Cathay would come out as factions in Old World, though GW would wait till the game gets as popular as 40k.
It’s never getting that popular. I’d love for full ranges for them. I’d buy everything.
All in for the War Wagon as a new plastic kit with the classic option, the all muskets option and the organ gun option (both from TW:W)
