I am frustrated with you on this video 🤔 You took such diligence to explain in your last video how we know that atoms exist but in this video you simply stated a lot of things that may or may not be true. In fact I highly doubt that they are true because if true then we could combine atoms with lower protons together to make atoms that have higher proton to electron ratios. How do we know what atoms are made of.
They teach you an outdated 2d model of an atom, make you remember it or you get bad grades and then never explain that's it not actually like that just expect you to magically also understand that an atom doen't look like that. I'm so furious at my chemistry teachers right now.
am pretty sure that this videos cost too much time and money, but us as the viewers appreciate more than you think so thank you, thank you so so much man, we really appreciate you :)
I've binged all your videos revolving around this topic, and lord are they so helpful. I'm only 12, so I'm not even considered a teenager, but I'm trying to fix my grades in school and these videos are really helping me understand the topic being covered so much more. Thank you so much for clearly stating everything! EDIT; I was looking, but can anyone suggest a video about quarks, leptons, and bosons? I'm still a little lost and I don't know if they posted one yet and could really use one (:
Wow, I just saw this channel! Excellent! It’s amazing how much information he can put into a few minutes and have it be clear and understandable. Very nice job. Thank you!
This was awesome thank you! I’m dyslexic so found school and physics hard as we would simply copy what the teacher wrote on the black board into our text books and expect to learn. Of course for some who struggled to look at letters and copy them without slowing the class down I found it impossible to learn so lost interest. But I’ve learn more in your last two video then I ever did at school and it’s blown my mind!
I am a student of Persian Language and Literature, I already knew basically everything in this video, but it was still extremely fun to watch. Thanks a lot from Iran.
I would hesitate to say (as it was stated at the end) that a single proton attracts a single electron, and this is why the opposite charges are balanced in the atoms. A single proton attracts all electrons... but when the number of opposite charges (protons and electrons) are balanced in a volume of space, then it's the case that far away from this volume of space the net effect of attract and repulsion on all other charges cancels out. Thus on average, fluxes of charges into and out of any space will continue until the net charge within that space in zero.
Really well done, John. Excellent video, your points are cogent and stated clearly. Loved your narration and the sporradic sarcasm, "....actually the protons don't have little faces," 🤣😂😂 Well done!
Surprised you never mentioned that protons and electrons are not actually technically "positive" and "negative" -- they are just opposite charges. Scientists could have defined protons as "negative" and electrons as "positive" when first describing them. There's nothing that is inherently positive or negative about them.
what an excellent explanation! thank you! I liked the faces on the nucleons. At this point, I'll be disappointed to see a picture of one without the face, but I'm mentally preparing myself for that eventuality. I subscribed. All good wishes!
size and dimension as we generally understand it doesn't really apply to anything smaller than an atom. When we call the nucleus of an atom small, it is because the points of the protons and neutrons fit inside that space and they interact at the edge distance from each other. But they are field disturbances and not "surfaces" like you think of. Actually. The surfaces you think of are these same field perturbations in aggregate across a large collection of atoms. So really it is what you think of as an edge that's too binary for what a "edge" really is. If you think of the gravity of the earth and how it changes over distances, that's more akin to what is happening with the protons and neutrons, only there is no earth there, just greater force, creating the edges.
What you said is a fact... not a theory When you think about it, it's really weird how things with barriers are made up of things without barriers I don't even know if you can call this barrierless field perturbation a thing
6:10 - Don't you mean... anATOMy? But in all seriousness, glad to see a new video so early in the year! Very nice explanation and I'm looking forward to learning some more on this topic.
You did in 7 minutes what a full week's worth of my college level course didn't. I just needed to know why carbon is carbon. Thank you for not over-complicating things.
i was watching this amazing work with my nephew , he is too little to understand english yet he really enjoyed the illustrations (i paused several times explaining to him) so i looked in the subtitles but i havent find any arabic translation unfortunetly , and i tried to add them but that option wasnt available either , i would love to add the arabic translation if u may , and contribute with something little in order for the information to be adressed to a wider audience and comprehended by those who havent learnt english .
We were learning abt this stuff for the past two weeks in chemistry and I have learnt more from this video than in the two weeks thank now my teacher may like me bc I understand it now

This channel is pure gold! :-) 12 years in school, nobody teaches this clearly.
I see what you did there :)
So it has 79 Protons?

yes
12 Years well wasted😡
Wow, I'm a software engineer, and here I'm learning these basics just out of curiosity. Thanks for STATING so CLEARLY !!
Im just a lad that got curious
Can you teach me basics of software engineering
And it's pros and cons
same, cs major here and i can just read endlessly about stuff like this
Finally a stated clearly video.

Edit: twice
Same.. it's just so cool
lol
now watch it for a 3rd time :knife:
The summary helped a lot! Tomorrow I have a quiz about Atoms, and I barely have any knowledge about atoms. So this helped a lot! Thanks!
Are you gonna make a video explaining quarks, leptons, and bosons?
I was just about to ask the same question, more specifically concerning the bosons and the energy attractions that draw varying atoms together.
YES PLEASE
and fields ?
Same. I want an explanation of the actual fundamental particles
Yeah, I think it might be interesting.
I have never been that focused on learning basics until this video thank you
am pretty sure that this videos cost too much time and money, but us as the viewers appreciate more than you think so thank you, thank you so so much man, we really appreciate you :)
Whoo Hoo. Stated Clearly is the bomb!
Aspoldin' 50 megatons ah knowledge on dat ass!
Wow, an image of a nitrogen atom? That’s incredibly impressive. I love science!
I love these videos - they are so beautifully animated and perfect for explaining atoms to students! Thanks so much for making!
They are made of Michael from Vsause
Hey VSAUCE! My favorite RUclips opening of all time haha!

youre doing awesome man
i think he going to do it later in the year
Every Clearly Stated video I watch makes every video from other channels seem like just an intro. You guys are amazing.
Excellent video John. Really well narrated and the use of graphics is well done and suited to the topic.
0:46 I take that personally.
Wow, I just saw this channel! Excellent! It’s amazing how much information he can put into a few minutes and have it be clear and understandable. Very nice job. Thank you!
Stated well and stated clearly - as always ! Excellent animation and explanatory power - keep 'em coming, my friend.

This is probably my favourite channel on RUclips.
One of the most valuable RUclips channels there is. Thank you so much.

North could have been called South, ey?
@@GeovaniLopesDias : Why not both?
@@fullup91 The Magnetic North Pole of the Earth is actually a south pole. That one's always a laugh when people first realise it
Interesting.

my first ever youtube comment, you just explained so nicely, thank you.
I’ve been struggling to understand this certain topic but I am so grateful for this video. THANK YOU SO MUCH
Wow I have never seen a person teaching so clearly kudos to you☺️☺️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I like the short recaps at the end of every video. Very helpful. Thank you.

That’s sounds really cool but I understood none of it.
