  • This week, Colonel Patrick Callahan and Lt. Colonel Sean Kilcomons joined senior law enforcement executives from around the world for the annual March of The Living at the Birkenau camp near Oswiecim, Poland. Birkenau camp is part of the former Auschwitz-Birkenau camp at the village of Brzezinka. Auschwitz was the largest of the German Nazi concentration camps and extermination centers. Over 1.1 million men, women and children lost their lives here.
The law enforcement officials came together to make a joint promise to combat anti semitism, hatred and intolerance. The annual march is a powerful and symbolic reminder of the atrocities committed during the Holocaust and the need for vigilance against anti-Semitism and hatred in all its forms. It is crucial that we continue to educate future generations about the Holocaust and its lessons, so that we can work towards a future free from prejudice and intolerance.
The 2023 March of the Living marks the 75th anniversary of the State of Israel, the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising and 35th anniversary of the March of the Living.
    Law Enforcement Officials included:
The Miller Center Chief Advisor Paul Goldenberg
New Jersey State Police Colonel Patrick Callahan
Newport News, VA Sheriff Gabriel Morgan
VIA Rail Canada Chief of Police and Chief Security Officer Peter Lambrinakos
Chief Police Advisor at Croatia Ministry of the Interior Colonel Danijela Petković
