- In this how to do it yourself video tutorial, Im going to show you how to make a male mannequin on the cheap and easy like I always do. The mannequin is made of eva foam or you can use 1/4 floor mats if you like. I needed a cheap way to display my IronMan since I cant fit the cosplay on the expensive mannequin.

thank you for the mannequin... a tip for a more rigid mannequin use insulation spray foam to fill the inside its lightweight and very ridgid remember to cut expansion holes. the expansion holes after you let dry can then be cut off .. let it set for 24 hours
Good tip, I haven't tried it yet but my plans for certain mannequins was to put water-resistant painter suits over clothing and fill with foam it should expand to fit the clothes.
I always feel like there's something missing from RUclips... and then I see that you haven't uploaded in months!

was thinking of using this design to display a set of chainmail armor which is fairly heavy, any ideas on how to strengthen it, or would it be strong enough as is?
Not sure if you read here, but if you are looking for new masks to make, I noticed a lack of Dr. Doom Foam masks. Everyone always only 3D prints it. Would love to buy a template of a basic one that I can then decorate myself.

I noticed its been I months since this upload so, I hope you are safe and healthy. Probably busy trying to provide for your family because of COVID-19 so dont feel like you have to upload anytime soon. Although an update video would be nice.
Also for your next project could you do a Robin cosplay? From the 2000's Teen Titans cartoon? Or maybe something more relevant like PS4 Spiderman or Ghost of Tsushima. Best wishes :)

Made make manikin at my size. Used 2 different foams. Long story short, when I put my heavy costume on it, it collapsed.
I corrected it by using expanding foam inside. It worked great. Still light weight. I left the arms free so I can manipulate them to get the costume on the manikin.
Thanks for great idea. Better than a duct tape dummy.
How much Eva foam did you need to use?
@@erichutchison6062 I used four sheets of floor mats I used more for my second. Goofed and used a yoga mat for the thighs. Filled them both with great stuff. Really filled them out. Just take your time if you do fill. Hurried on my thin one and the leg leaked some. It’s easier on the second one. Planning two more soon.
To fill the cavity with expansion foam seems a great idea for adding some stiffness to the mannequin, but i'm wondering if the exp foam might deform the model while expanding..i'm planning to do it with cheap yoga mats, will they be able to preserve their volumes? i need to dress the mannequin with two layers of clothes, i'm not sure it would hold the weight without some help and foam seems great
How do I put clothes on this? Do I have to take the arms off?

I've done the whole thing with 4 floor mats 140cmX50cm and i'm left with about half mat for errors
