Dual Sport Motorcycle Riding Adventures. In 2017, I met Jon Buffington (Professional Photographer) at a Dual Sport Rally in Hohenwald, TN. He & I (Hobbyist Videographer) decided to photograph, film, camp and share the ride (Mini-Series, Movies, Videos). When I first bought my bike, very little information was available for places to ride. Talking with Jon, we both knew its out there, we just needed to go find it! Along the way, somehow it grew into putting on Event Rides Sanctioned by AMA and now, were off to film a Mini-Series in the hopes of Finding Focused FUN ... Come Along, Lets take a Ride! ... I think I'll name that crossing the "Laugh Lines Crossing", even saw a guy fall twice in it both ways unfortunately he was riding one of my bikes it took me five hours to get all the water out of it...

Delkevic Can for a KTM1090r. It is the cheapest, I know of at around $130.00 and the best I've ever heard on this bike LOL

I’ve crossed that once on our first TAT trip. We deviated a bit just to ride this road. One of my buddies took the far left and although it’s deeper it wasn’t a problem. All three of us made it OK using that line.
Glad you didn’t drown your bike!

Hi Steve, yeah, that left line is deeper. The line I took is generally the "accepted" line (I use that term loosely as there is really no concensus) and have been across that on both big and small bikes numerous times. But, well, it was just my time I guess! The silt on was pretty bad and slick which surprised me. LOTS of bikes going down that day on it. I am glad though that I didn't drown it!

Good video, 8 of us are starting the SM500 on April 12th. Hoping for good weather. Which section and which direction (clockwise or counterclockwise) are you going in this video? I want to try to hit the same lines.

They were entering Witt Rd on it's Northern side (closest to the town of Tellico) & exiting on the South Eastern side. The best place to cross is on the "up creek side". The groves are much straighter up creek than down creek (those groves deflect the front tire and dump many a rider). A cheap, light, small, binocular is great for ADV riding as when you come to creeks you can get a better look at the submerged stones (small but every advantage is a plus)

I did that same crossing back in the summer of 2019 on my 2017 1200GS Rallye and had my then 12 year old son on the back. The water was higher and we didn't even see the ridges. We went left, got into the deep stuff, hit a rock that stopped me, and then tipped to the right against the rocks. We didn't go over but we did have boots full of water! My buddy on a KTM 690 Enduro took your line to the right and almost did the same thing you did! Seeing all of this, his son cautiously followed on an 1190 Adventure on the same right side line without any issues. It was our last day of a week of riding out there. We are in Texas and VERY jealous of the riding you have in your area!

I hear you, the whole mid south out here has amazing spots to ride. A days journey or less in any direction.

Look up 2014 March Moto Madness Promotional video. It’s full of “East Coast riding” shots. 👍🏼

They need to dynamite that crossing... I hate it. Not much to do with skill everything to do with luck. BUT, like he said too much air pressure.
