Hi Lisa, I dress up no matter where I go, grocery store, running my errands, I don’t care where I go I’m going to wear something really nice and put together.
This is just a great message you shared today. I used to live in Vancouver bc, big city and I would also go out looking great and I love it and had lots going on in my life. Since I retired, I’m 76 now. I have moved to a small town near the water. It’s a beautiful setting. I recently left my husband at 73 and I have a cute little condo and a precious little kitten called Bella and I’m writing a book. When I think of getting dressed up in my small town I have to giggle, I would be uncomfortable. People here are sweatpants and T shirts and I am too now and don’t want to be. But I’m in a rut, I don’t have the friends I used to have since moving. I don’t go looking for something to do, I’m happy in my home. I feel like I need to bust out! If you know what I mean. I’m going to do baby steps and take some of your valuable advise. Thank you so much as always. 💗💗
I was always scared to try new things because of anxiety. We had bought a beach home 10 1/2 hours from home. I figured the only way I was going to enjoy it was to was to push myself to make the drive by myself when my husband couldn’t go. It was so liberating. I’ve now even driven to Chicago by myself & stayed in a hotel for a week to do some shopping. One thing I have found with some of my girlfriends, is negativity about my wearing makeup, dressing up and being, “ too fixy”. I now frankly don’t care what anyone thinks because, like Lisa, I love fashion, hair, nails etc. I even do my own nails now. Stepping out of your comfort zone is awesome.
I love your statement, I enjoy doing my skin care, I enjoy doing self care at home with facial masks, charcoal mask, I love wearing a dress to church, doing these things makes me feel special and pretty
Lisa, I just love you. You are so inspiring and you are that voice that has always been a part of me and what my moms taught me over the years. I have lost that voice but I aspire to be that soft, feminine woman you represent. Thank you for sharing your experience and thoughts. Sending love to you! ❤
Thank you for the reminder❤ …we get so busy and tired from life that we sometimes forget what brings us joy and after all more energy to enjoy life more.
I'm in my 40s with 3 kids so plenty of interaction but I love listening to you because I like to put things into practice before the time. Most wait until the nest is empty or retirement to start building. Purpose outside of kids. I practice that now and try to romanticize my life as week. I work from home but I create reasons to dress up also- pta meetings, brunch with friend, etc. I also travel 1-2a year solo just for me because my husband is not big on travel. We understand that forcing another person to be like you doesn't work. Instead we both enjoy local dates so we pick new things around that a family activities with the kids.
It’s funny how this topic came up towards the end of your video. I just said to myself I don’t care where I’m going. I’m gonna feel good in what I’m wearing. I’m not saving it besides I’m a mood dresser. Life is what you make of it .. I’m grateful every morning when I wake up, I thank God..
I’m 54 yrs old and I used to buy and buy clothes and save them for special occasions. Well I don’t mess around. If I have something that I spent money well I’m just gonna wear it special occasion or not. I dress for myself to feel good and if people don’t like what they see…it’s their problem not mine. So moral of this my fellow golden chicks you do you and the heck with the “critics” Blessings to all 🙌🏻🌷💕
Hey Lisa! Great video! I love your approach and attitude to life! It’s so inspiring! I love to dress up too and feel fancy, even if I’m just grocery shopping! Thank you for sharing. Lots of love, Daphne 💞💞💞
I have worked all my life and am now retired. I was always around so many people working in a hospital. I’m not married and have no kids so my life is pretty boring. I have tried to do a lot of different things to fill up my time. Nothing has really clicked. I do need purpose and new friends!! 😊
I am in the same situation. But not retired yet. One thing that helps is to think of the things you have always wanted to do, but never have. For example, maybe you have always wanted to learn a language. Or travel to somewhere. Or to learn something new. Or teach yourself something new that you have always wanted to learn. Join a group, go to farmer’s markets, local art shows. All things that keep you around people. These are some of the things I do. Or on a piece of paper, write down a list of things you would like to do or things you would like to learn. And keep reinventing the list. :)
i love taking classes, like adult education, or college classes , you don't do homework, but it's fun to listen to history lectures, it can be better than watching a movie.
I agree whole heartedly Lisa! My kids are all grown up and even though I'm not quite an empty nester yet, they have their own lives and don't spend as much time with me. When my daughter visits we make a point of dressing up to go out shopping or for lunch. We both feel good and have a great time. My husband and I plan little weekend getaways and activities to do together through the year like going to plant nurseries or a cafe or exploring a town we haven't been to. It all keeps life interesting and gives us something to look forward to doing together.
I love getting dressed up! I like to have makeup on daily & hair fixed and dress cute around the house & love to wear Silver jeans dressy tank tops or Ayr...from your Link Lisa, with blazers to Dr or stores. I wear Big earrings...I feel my best when Im fixed up!! So I want to be my best everyday!!❤❤❤❤ your daughters is pretty like her Momma❤❤❤
Hey Lisa just wish you could do a bit more humanitarian things. I love cats! There is a very big need for help in our community in Latta SC for help with stray cats. Vetting is so expensive. Have you ever thought about it. It might be a good write off…not sure just a thought. Your area maybe too.
I am in my 30s married with three children and life is full. But this advice applies now and is wonderful for as the years go by. We often have “date night” in because either we don’t have a sitter or don’t have the budget for a fancy evening out, but a special meal or dressing like it’s a date does make it special. Thank you for these lessons, big sister Lisa!
I love this series -- Im in my late 30s -- but i find a lot of value in these videos. Over the last year I've been working hard to take better care of myself (I'm carnivore too!!) and dressing "up" even if it's just for an outing to the grocery store has been a big part of that. When I feel put together, with a little jewelry and a nice dress on my whole vibe changes. I've been wanting a new moisturizing lip gloss lately so I ordered the clear and sundiego from your link! Thanks for all you do! ❤
Lisa everything you have comes from God. Spreading the word and making Jesus famous is what The Lord wants us to do. He gave you the abilities to do the things you do. He gives us our desires. When we have nice things, it all comes from God. You are beautiful and I feel you don’t have to explain why you dress up but I understand why you feel you needed to. I love it that you dress up everyday. That is something the Lord gave you.
Love you Lisa! ❤ Question..do you wear your makeup every day, even if you’re not going out. Now, I know you have hubby but what if you lived by yourself? ❤
I think this has to be one of the best videos I’ve seen , I was watching and listening and your topic drew my husband near, and before I new it , we both were sitting and engaged, you were right on on this one, thank you❤
I live about an hour from Wilmington and and am a small content creator but yes I love dressing up on weekends, to church, to the mall, for dinner, to target 😂 I just make it fun to get ready in the morning and go run my errands and for me if I’m wearing a cute outfit I’m in a great mood ❤ that’s why I love watching your videos! I have a lot to look forward to as I get older, we just need to love our life and enjoy it to the fullest! It’s nice to romanticize the little things 💞
Thank you Lisa for the great tips! I’m a single lady in her 50’s and empty nester and I really want to amp up my life. I want to go to aEurope for the first time this year! Love your too too!
Lisa, I love this! I say all the time that I am a sociologist at heart. I love people, I love learning about them and their lives, I love to observe them.
I so love this. I feel this is often ignored esp about our feminine. For ladies who aren’t married or coupled it’s harder but it’s something as I go through perimenopause I have to keep adding to myself. So nice skin care, long showers, nice lip colors.
Hey Lisa , i Live in Sanford, I Hope one day I see you in person❤️ hopefully at the mall either at Southpoint or the one at Capital ..I love your videos ..
Great topic, Lisa. It is so important to practice self-care before we can care for others. As Women, we are the caregivers, and always doing and caring for others, and that is why it is so important that we make time to do things that make us happy and take care of ourselves. I just turned 57 this month, and I am very comfortable with who i am, and I am never bored. I think it is very important to have interests and hobbies outside of work. Many people become their job, and lose sight of who they really are. As i have matured, I have discovered that less is more, and I love simplicity--its the little things in life that make us happy. For example, a perfect day for me would be relaxing on the beach, or maybe reading a good book in the shade. Be good to yourself and do what makes you happy. ❤
I'm 48 still working FT but i I try to look great for work. I leveled up my wardrobe and make myself look nice and only wear athleisure for gym. I find myself really bored with older kids but you have to find new hobbies. Sometimes ya just have to cry because it's a different stage in life❤
Love love this video!! At age 54 I started my dog training and behavioral business. I make $100 an hour. Im my own boss ..Its never too late to hustle!
Hello Lisa 🙋🏼♀️ I agree 💯 I have always lived by "dress for the job you want, not the one you need" and still believe that 😊 I'm new love your adorable self and your style. QUESTION ⁉️ PLEASE...... what bra are you wearing with this adorable top ???? Thank you
Hi Lisa, I’m with your Dad, I like your hair up! I really enjoyed listening to you today. A lot of good advice. I had been waiting for this Monday video! Thanks! ❤💐
I love that you “make it a thing.” It is an inspiration for us all to “dress up” and wear those clothes! I can’t tell you how many things I buy that sit in a bag in the closet. And I love clothes! Time to wear those clothes, “create interest” and “make it happen.” Thanks for inspiring! :)
You actually wear the clothes to show us which we love!♥ And I know you dress so nicely when you go out anywhere because you like to! I like to do that too, oh and at home too because why not feel good even at home? I love choosing my clothing for the day….
I, too, grew up in a small town and loved fashion. I wore high heels to school every day ...and I remember watching Cher, The Supremes loving their fashion when I was young, loving their outfits.
Lisa I tried to listen to today's video, had my volume full blast but really struggled to hear it. Just an FYI. Your makeup has been looking so fantastic. What I did hear was most interesting. Loved your top. Looked great all around. I'm in a really bad slump of not. Caring what I look like, the house is a total embarrassment. I have NO energy. Don't even know where to start. Collected way to much junk. We'll at any rate thanks for the boost.
Oh no I wonder why the sound was messing up?! -- I'm sorry to hear that, try just cleaning one room or a corner of a room and start there. It's okay we all have bad days, weeks, months, even YEARS! Thank you for being here with me and I hope things get better for you very soon ❤ Lisa
Love the message and your philosophy. I completely agree. I'm having a hard time trying to undo all the messaging from my spouse and people around me living in the "you don't need that mindset... this is good enough". It's a constant challenge to say "no, i do deserve this and I want to live life to the fullest." I'm trying!
I really love this video! In the end, we have to do what makes us happy. I live in Manhattan, my husband hates it. But that does not stop me from doing things I love. I dress up just to throw the garbage out! lol it makes me feel good and that’s what’s most important. I LOVE that top! I have to have it. You are an inspiration. See you next video
Thank you Lisa I look forward to all your videos and you really lift my spirits and positivity. I love all things very feminine, pink is my most favourite colour and the truth is I wouldn’t want to be anything but female. I love dressing up always have since a little girl. My husband and I do travel overseas mostly which I love and you are right it’s always lovely coming back to see your home in a different light so refreshing. With love to you from Australia 💝🌸💝
I first found you for the carnivore content but i love all of your videos Lisa. You are inspiring and real and I get so much value from your life advice. I always feel positive after a chit chat with you. Thank you so much ❤
Lisa, Lisa I just love all of your videos. even when I noticed that you had that go get them energy going and it was a little bit different from what you were doing before I adored your videos and now what you’re doing with the new directions that you’re moving into where you are telling people about life and about your life and about your views, and how they can improve their lives… I think you’re doing great. God bless you and keep you safe. I am an older gal now 68 years old been married forever, and the information that you put out on this video about what your parents do to keep their marriage exciting and alive was great. It was wonderful people need to hear that stuff, people need to hear that sitting around in their sweatpants it’s not the thing to do fortunately my husband has a business that he still runs. He’s out of the house a lot lol we still find things to do with the extra energy that we have. The direction of your videos is enriching to other peoples lives. Keep going. I love it.
Love this video! I’m a mama of 3 under 5 and I’m planning to homeschool my oldest this fall. I’ve been feeling so blah lately and having a hard time getting motivated to get ready. Especially since we’re home a lot right now. This video reminded me that’s it’s not about getting ready for others but for myself. Thanks Lisa ❤
Thank you Lisa! I needed to hear you today. Life is short and it is up to us to romanticize our own lives. If we look good, we feel better and we smile more 🥰❤
That’s funny you mentioned putting an extra pair of flip flops or something in the car. I do that almost every Sunday when we get out of church. I wear heels, and have slides or flip flops or something in the car and change. Especially if we are going somewhere afterwards. I love hearing story’s about your mom and dad. I love listening to how things used to be, and how similar they still are🥰🥰🥰

Hi Lisa, I dress up no matter where I go, grocery store, running my errands, I don’t care where I go I’m going to wear something really nice and put together.
Same. Honestly it gives me a reason to justify all the make-up I buy and clothing, bags etc. Why buy them if you only save it for special things!? 😂
If not now, when? I say this to myself whenever I’m trying to decide some things. I think I first heard that from Marie Forleo.

Just recently I was on IG, the quote was “instead of finding someone to grow old with, find someone to be child like with” I thought to myself, YES!
Looking good it’s a message to people that I respecting myself and others.

I love Magic Mondays! I look forward to Mondays now! ❤❤❤
Yes! Exactly!! Thank you ❤ Lisa
I'm 48 still working FT but i
I try to look great for work. I leveled up my wardrobe and make myself look nice and only wear athleisure for gym. I find myself really bored with older kids but you have to find new hobbies. Sometimes ya just have to cry because it's a different stage in life❤
Yes ❤ Thank you for being here 💕 Lisa
Thanks! ❤💐
I love how positive you are.
Thank you so much! 💞 Lisa
Yay! Of course, thank you for watching ❤❤ Lisa
I haven’t had luck w the coupon code. I’ve tried pasting and typing it in. Saying it can’t be found. Any ideas what I’m doing wrong

I, too, grew up in a small town and loved fashion. I wore high heels to school every day ...and I remember watching Cher, The Supremes loving their fashion when I was young, loving their outfits.
Yes!! So fun ❤ Lisa
Athleisure wear has made us all a bit slightly slobby, not a lot of effort required.😮. We can do better… ❤

Start decluttering today! It's free and it's fun!
I love you! You are so Beautiful and elegant , classy. We could be bestie.😊
Thank you, Elizabeth! 😍😘 Lisa
LOVE this series!!!! I love the way you celebrate and romanticize femininity!!!!
Thank you so much!! 😍😘 Lisa
Tell them: But I don't want to settle for 'good enough'.
Thank you so so much, Annette!! 😘😍 Lisa
My kind of girl! 💕💕 Thank you so much, Vicki 🥰 Lisa

Beautiful Lisa!❤
Thank you, Angela 😘💋 Lisa
Keep going. I love it.
Thank you so much ❤ This means a lot to me, I appreciate you! 💓 Lisa
What a lovely video. Thank you! ❤
Yes, you get it 🥰 Get pretty to be with yourself (and your babies!) 😘 Thank you for watching ❤ Lisa
Would love to see the purse you made, do you still have them ?❤
Thank you Lisa! I needed to hear you today. Life is short and it is up to us to romanticize our own lives. If we look good, we feel better and we smile more 🥰❤

Great video 👏🏻❤️

Thank you! 😘 Lisa
I love listening to how things used to be, and how similar they still are🥰🥰🥰
I love your energy and positivity ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much! ❤ Lisa
Such serendipity! I was thinking about creating purpose this morning!
