he saved price twice during the mission, and between first and second he told price to leave him as he was more interested in killing makarov than in living to see it, then after the second time he died to save price so he could finish him off...the guy was a badass, makes sense he comes from the Spetsnaz lol

Soap, price, roach, allen (even if he didn't do much, he died because of sheperd's carelessness), ghost, yuri, nicolaï, hell, even those on the american army side were badass (sergent foley, caporal dunn, etc)
The MW series were the best of all the COD

Not gonna like, when the Task Force 141 intro appeared, it was awesome. The name Price, the fact is no longer disavowed and Price is on a one-way trip with Yuri to hell really gave me chills. This was not for a good cause or a bad cause, neither for honor or proud. It was sheer commitment to one goal: They. Will. Kill. Him.
Makarov - "I've destroyed your world piece by piece, it's only a matter in time until I find you."

Nothing felt more gratifying to 14 year old me than seeing that little "Objective Complete" at the very end, knowing full well that the story of my childhood had finally come to an end. Only to realize as Price was lighting that cigar that everyone I fought alongside with was dead and there would be no more games to the series.
The new Modern Warfare is great but it's still lacking the companionship and scale that the original trilogy brought. I'm honestly not sure if it can even be replicated or matched again.

Edit: Nukes Iraq, taking down 30000 USMC personnel and more civilans
Seeing that ‘objective completed’ is a true ending to the trilogy

I will say, one thing I liked a lot about this mission is how it doesn’t have Yuri, who has been silent for most of the game giving you orders and telling you what to do. Rather it has you as Price still giving orders to Yuri, which is simultaneously telling the player what to do. It’s a small detail but I think it’s ingenious level design.

Man I miss this era of CoD so much, the campaign and multiplayer were so fun. You felt like a total badass and immortal while wearing the juggernaut suit and avenging everyone you’ve lost
The new Modern Warfare games are decent I mean the Graphics and sounds are good but I will always prefer the original trilogy.
Price lost Gaz and Griggs in the first MW, then Roach and Ghost in MW2 and then Soap, Truck, Grinch, Sandman, Yuri and Kamarov in MW3.

This fight was super intense. They stacked enemies everywhere they all had cover and would flank you in a heartbeat.
I always loved how you killed of Makarov, it was so brutal and violent, then at the end its bittersweet cause you've killed one of the worst war mongers in history. But everyone you (Captain Price) know is dead except for Nikolai. You got your revenge but you the player still feels the loss Price felt.
Without his original friends and allies left, it hurts a lot.
He still has Macmillan but yeah his whole team is pretty much gone.
I was stunned at that ending but couldn’t stop bawling when I saw roach at the picture his silent demeanor convinced me to talk more often he felt like a friend to me when I was little playing mw2
For all the good soldiers Price lost, Ghost, Griggs, Roach, Allen, Captain MacTavish, Gaz, Truck, Sandman, Grinch, Kamarov, and Yuri, I'm glad players made Makarov burn in this final mission. He had no heart!! I'm glad he's gone!!! He did nothing to honor his country, he humiliated his fellow Russians!!!!

just finished the series 15 minutes ago (MW1 to MW3), and god knows how many times I've replayed this series, the first time in 2012, when I was still a 15 year old kid, after 9 years, now 24 years old, with my wife and children by my side, time flies and it still feels like the first day, some things will never change, right ?

This mission is based around the Burj Al-Arab in Dubai. It's almost perfectly similar, but with a few differences than in real life.

Is it just me or was soaps death the only one price truly cared about because price doesn't say anything about Griggs and gaz , same thing with yuri. And he kinda feels sad about team metals death. In mw2 price simply says to soap "their dead" when ghost and roach die

I love the parallel between Yuri and Soap when Yuri pulls the rebar out of his chest to save Captain Price just as Soap pulled out the knife to save Captain Price too.

What an epic campaign.
Idk if anyone will see this or like this but my uncle got the midnight release and I was over at his place he let me in his room and this was the first time I’ve ever been in his room but anyways he let me play the campaign first and when I got stuck he just sat there watching me overcome the obstacles and I beaten it and it took me 8 hours to beat this game. So he just sat there just enjoying our time together and the story too I haven’t played it since but it really holds close to my heart bc couple of months later he committed suicide so I think that was his goodbye moment with me
The picture at the end of the credits made me cry

Not my favorite Call of Duty game, but it definitely has my favorite campaign mission of all time
My one problem with COD is that they seriously underpower GPMG/MMG’s.
The PKP Pecheneg fires a 7.62x54R cartridge, same round used by the Mosin-Nagant, except it fired up to 800 rounds a minute.
One bullet could kill a man if hit pretty much anywhere center-mass, if the victim is wearing anything short of Class IV plates.
If any man is strong enough to wear a ballistic rated bomb suit and carry a PKP, stand well bloody clear of him before he cuts you in half with 4 rounds. Because that gun is only barely short of a Deuce.
The end of an era
This mission should make a return in a greater epic scale. MW 3 is and was truly an amazing game. I can't wait how this will look now in 2023.

+The Ghost my theory is that these games are in a shared universe and the way they connect is that Kravchenko, in the 80’s created the russian ultranationalists. The reason I think this is because in the 80’s missions in black ops 2 Kravchenko talks about how the Soviet Union is dying and is also working with menendez. If Kravchenko is working with criminals like menendez it is likely that he was running some sort of terrorist/criminal group himself ie, an ultranationalist group that would try to remake the USSR. As Kravchenko was funding and creating the ultranationalists, he appointed Zachiav as his successor so when Kravchenko died, Zachiav was the next leader and then Makarov after him. This would not only connect the 2 stories but also explains his picture on the board and just makes the story more fun to think of it that way. It also makes the Pripyat missions more interesting as there’s a lot more of s background for it and the Ultranationalists as a whole.
