- A video years in the making for me... a car I've always wanted and now I get to share it with you guys! Crank that volume up (and excuse a couple bits of wind noise midway though... sorry!) and enjoy looking around my new purchase. Plenty more to come for this one I'm sure!

Beautiful Audi.. my uncle had a 1986 in the same color. Great car
Looks like a good one. I used to own one of these on a D plate. Metallic black. Sold it back in '98 and pretty much regretted doing that ever since. I miss that five cylinder engine sound. Just make sure sunroof drains are clear otherwise water can collect around the base of the A-pillars/scuttle area. The previous owner of my car had fitted an aftermarket Britax glass sunroof and because there wasn't any sunroof drains, it rotted out bottom few inches of offside A pillar outer skin. Was a tricky job to repair properly.
Thank you, will take a look at this! They do sound absolutely glorious!
Great stuff. Whoever put the thumbs down hasn't been near one of these fine cars. Im not sure I'd do anything to it, really, but 6 or 7 x 15 inch Ronal R8 look great on them as do Schmidt Modern/ Revolutions.
The Ronal R8s are a good choice, a great OEM plus look! Thanks Drew, we agree with you!
Wow looks great!!! Enjoy your car!! I just bought a Coupe Gt as well and love it. Greetings from Holland
Thank you! That's awesome, I hope you enjoy it!
Now that's a quality car. Good luck with it.
Thank you Terry! Had to have something half decent for once eh! ;)
5 cylinder goodness! I had a red 1.8 in the early 90's, my friend had a white one the same time as our daily drivers. I lusted after an S2 and nearly bought one after that - but they were just a bit too pricey at the time and would've sucked my wages dry on petrol and servicing, so bought a '94 2.6 coupe. UR Quattro Turbo's were going a bit out of fashion a bit by then and parts were getting harder to get - you could pick them up for 4.5K for one that needed a bit of TLC. I Wish I'd got a 5 cylinder, they sound excellent! Maybe a TTRS when they are cheap enough......maybe.
They sound great! The 1.8 is meant to be a great engine too, a lot of the 80 Sports got them of course, the previous owner of this had one of those and did sing its praises! TT RS are very nice, but expensive for me but a nice car nonetheless!
Love your enthusiasm and great to see the younger generation following in the steps of some of us oldies. No turbo by the way ( 5.40 in the clip ) Look after it and yourself and ENJOY ! :-)))
Thank you, it's great to encourage others into the classic scene as well so I hope these videos help people in a way! What is your reference to a turbo, sorry? :)
@@OGCars At around 5.40 into the film when you are patting the engine you say ( or am I mistaken ? ) "turbo at the front" No turbos on that engine....just saying.
@@PATWENTY8R Hahaha no, timing belt at the front is what I said! I know, it's a 2.2 KV N/A, the quattro Turbo is a little out of my realm price wise ;) Although I would love one...
What a lovely car you have there! I'm a bit biased, I've also got an 85' non turbo coupe quattro so I love them. Also in tornado red. Have fun with it!
Glad to hear we are on the same page! I almost bought a Pearl white non turbo quattro before this but this one was in much better condition and I’m glad I have it!
I've just had mine completely stripped down and resprayed like yours. See you around at a car show sometime (after covid)😀
@@andyaitken169 I look forward to it, enjoy!
Look forward to seeing in round Chippenham.
If the weather is good I’m sure you’ll see it about! 😉
Used to own e412xkd.
She was a belter.
Great to hear from a previous owner! I still own it although under A10VKV now!
@@OGCars if you ever decide to part with it I'd definitely have it back.
Do you still have the old seats with the leather patch on the drivers seat bolster.
There was nothing wrong with the bolster but the leather was put there to stop it wearing through.
Also loved the fact the k&n warning sticker is still on the slam panel.
@@marvinleighton2833 the old seats went into another Coupe GT which had a wrecked interior! Send me a message via owen21able on Instagram or find our Facebook and I can keep in touch with you, cheers!
Great vid!
Cheers mate!
Would like to see a pov drive in a few of em ... Keep it up! Take care
Will definitely see what we can do at some point, some sounds videos would be good I think!
Super clean!!! Love the taste in autos u guys have .... I agree that I5 sounds like few others .... Very nice , should be proud. Ive subbed and looking forward to the next one. Stay safe✌
Thank you, hopefully we can film some new content soon! These cars have a beautiful sound, still forever hooked!
Fantastic mate, love the Audi. How are you getting on with it? I've just bought one myself. Been sleeping for over 20 years in a garage and remarkably clean. Can't wait to get it back on the road.
It’s fantastic, had an issue with the clutch so new master and slave cylinder fitted now - was a right pain to change but all good now and no issues since, great fun to drive! Good luck with yours, hopefully you get to enjoy it in this glorious weather soon!
really nice. does it has the stock exaust still on?
I think the last of this nice cars was buil 1987. Not 1988.
Regardless of build date, the registration applies to the year it was registered with the DVLA - so even if it was built 87, this is an 88 registered car
