Honestly i think it should be continued. Just because the original author abandoned a story doesnt mean it should just fade into obscurity never living up to its potential

I've seen what makes you tick!', or 'Every second I breathe without your permission raises my self-esteem!', or my favorite 'Why Argue with these idiots when I could be spending my time doing something I like? Like watching SCP animation or eating fried chicken?' It always works for me!
Possible idea to do this 'ethically' may just be to rewrite the universe.
Learn from the pros and cons of LordBungs series, and hard-reboot it.
One thing I always thought the earlier episodes lacked, was a sense of an actual overarching plot, and direction of where it wanted to go.
If all you're using are the characters, and some ideas like Connor being able to resurrect himself. But make the story different and disconnected from LordBungs series, then it's more of a glorified fanfic than anything ethically wrong.
I would include everything except for the boy in the pitch black room, just scrap that and make him one of the scarlet kings kids, simple but it makes sense
That's a lot harder than it sounds. I worked in production once upon a time.. Like you have to have the perfect more than trifecta to come together to make the perfect show. You need great voice actors You need decent enough animation and you need great writing but you also need a good solid plot and well thought out and good characters and even TV shows that have some of that don't always last more than one season because even if it's written well even if the characters were written well people just don't love it. The original confinement had that. The characters were written well. People liked it. People liked the characters. People liked the writing and the jokes and the plot. You would have to redo all of that without using any of the original. A new main character with his own backstory and his own plot.. And in a world where people die almost constantly it's going to be really hard to have a main character who doesn't have some kind of regeneration or something
I mean if you really boil it down the original was very well made. Even for a low budget thing..
The characters as written were compelling and interesting. The overall world and universe wasn't created by him but it was still good. The plot was good. It wasn't just random adventures of some random people looking at random monsters. Each monster each SCP was incorporated into the plot of the episode and it would advance the plot of the series. You had a main character in a world where people die all the time and the genius writers came up with the idea that he'd can just reanimate himself.. And then they incorporated that into the overall plot as part of a greater mystery. Each episode was compelling in its own way giving its own take on various SCPs even in a way that you don't have to really be an avid follower of the wiki to understand it. The characters were real well written with good cohesion. He was given a love interest that didn't seem forced it just worked. Each episode had an interesting plot interesting characters funny jokes interesting writing and at the same time it served the overall series plot
There's just so many little things
It's something that you could hardly expect to happen from just somebody doing a side project on RUclips for no money. Team of writers and animators and voice actors.. It's well beyond the scope of what some random college kid doing a side project could do. And that's why you don't see a whole lot of it. The closest you see is the channel the rubber and that's a full studio as well that makes money and was created to make money..
I'm certainly not trying to discourage anyone I think someone or some people should get together and absolutely make another one. Either from scratch or just continue the story.. But it's certainly not as easy as it seems and you have to make sure that you've got everything in place to be able to do it right before you even try. Make sure you've got a team of good voice actors. Make sure your dent animation is down Pat. And above all make sure that the plot the characters and the writing is really good first. I've seen a few people try their hand it their own versions of it so far and it just doesn't land. Either the writing or the animation or the voice acting not so great.. My suggestion is if you think that you can do any one of those things you should be looking to get together with other people in the community who can do some other parts of those things. Nobody should try to take it all on on their own. If you can do animation but you can't do voice acting that's fine find people who are willing to do the voice acting. If you need help with writing I'm sure there's plenty of people who can help with writing. We could even outsource it to the community. Make it a collaborative project. These are all suggestions to help but definitely someone should get to it.
And just stick to your own art style maybe. The art style was one of the last good things of Confinement, let's not desecrate it by trying to mimick it.

Honestly this series deserves to continue and the way things look right now I’m not sure if that is happening anymore. I don’t think it would really be disrespectful to keep the ball rolling but if you really do feel bad about it I would dub it a “fan series” or “fan continuation” and if it isn’t enough just put in the description where the series actually came from and why you’re making more and to not give any hate. If they ever do come back to keep working on the official series you both could just talk it out, maybe even collaborate together. Though like I said the whole situation is real just *Bleh* right now so again might not come back but hey do what makes you happy

@@Sour_Inkyeah I think timing is everything.. I think it's too early to release a new thing because people are still getting over the old thing. It's too fresh of a scandal and you don't want to just drop a new episode in the middle of it. At the same time you don't want to wait too long because then people forget
I would say created as soon as possible but just wait to release it until you hit that sweet spot.. Best to have it already done so that you don't have to rush it when you feel that it's the right time.
I think that you did a really good job copying the animation and using the AI voices to make it sound right. I don't know if there's enough AI to go around to recreate every character's voice for an entire episode or not but it's so far sounds pretty good. My only suggestion is that the writing seems kind of off compared to the original. The way that the characters acted and the jokes don't seem like Lord bung's style And I know it's really hard to copy. If you'd like any help with that I can definitely help. I have writing experience
Honestly this looks great, I can tell that you’re using AI generated voices using voice clips from the characters, and honestly it doesn’t sound bad at all, like to the point that I would be fine watching a series with those voices
I hope you do continue this and that this proof of concept ends up getting some legs to stand on. Really hoping that more people see this
And yes, it is ethical, I wouldn’t be worried about your own ethics when it comes to content created by Bung, considering that she stole patreon donations for three years making what adds up to maybe 4 minutes of polished content and 3 minutes of shitty soft core porn
That's probably because Lord Bung's voice is basically the human equivalent of AI voicing
The voices don't sound bad when you're doing very carefully constructed things but if you're going to make an entire episode I really recommend just getting a voice actor. He doesn't have to sound like the original. Real TV shows change actors and voice actors all the time. People will deal with it. Still good they're not going to care that the voice sounds a little different.
But they will care about is if the entire plot and writing is very different. They come in expecting one show and get a different thing entirely. That's what they will care about. So focus more on that and don't worry so much about the voice sounding exact

I just want to say the only AI in this (and episode one) is the VO. And trust me I don't want to, but I am not really sure what options I have.
I put tons of effort into this and ep1, then just randomly scrolling on Reddit to see people just reduce it to "ai shit" is rough, but I knew some people wouldn't give it a chance, and be off put.
I'm not some giant studio, I literally am making this under a set of stairs. It is what it is. But I just want people to know I have a ton of passion for this project, its just me and animation is very hard. It's also juggling animation/ writing/ editing/ audio mixing/ promo. (im not complaining, in fact I love it.)
I am always trying to improve in the craft, right now I am working on new ideas and ways to plus the audio. Also, the story should pick up, I had to lay a lot of the foundation. But anyways, thanks for the other side of the coin with people sending love, ill continue to strive to become a great show..um, Maker? ❤✌
I love giving media recommendations! 🤩 For music, it would sorta depend on what was needed for that specific episode or scene - but even just a general mood or concept can point me in the right direction. I actually liked some of the songs used in _Confinement,_ and I LOVED the remake of Robbie Williams' "Candy". I have fairly eclectic taste, I think? So yeah idk. I hope this all works out for you, and if it does, you can bet that I'll have like 50 different song recs ready to go. lmao

Yeah Bung deleting the channel made me feel like this is actually possible. It was a signal they are completely done and over it. But if they have an issue, I hope they message me and we can work something out. I know a rational conversation on the internet, how rare.

I can’t see how anyone could blame you for salvaging the show and returning it to its former glory. Maybe this would allow us to see a proper ending to the characters that we have grown to love over the years!

Yeah, the art is what people loved, the coward tried to pass off something also as a continuation of the art even though they've strayed so far on what it actually was. in a sense is it ethical for disney to keep making mickey mouse cartoons if the creator is dead? is it ethical for there to be more spongebob? is it ethical to make more batman comics and movies even though the creator of the character died broke? the answer is yes if the quality of the art contributes to the idea and if the quality is low or not what it was then the answer is no regardless even if it's the creator or adapter.
it isn't about what's ethical that truly matters in this world but whether what you've done is seen as good or the work you've done pays off just as shocking the clown in the mcdonalds.

I was reeeeally waiting for a new episode
But since i got school, i never have time to check on it.
Now that i have finish school last year (or this year cause Covid fuk up the school time in my country),
I decided to visit back Confinement only to be confused because the channel has been deleted.
A few videos of explanation later and i was really disappointed
All of money and time wasting only for it to be a short softcore p0rn?? (i didn't get to watch it) but hearing about it really dissapointed me.
The series really intrigued me especially Connor's lore
I really hope someone made a new series of it so if you are really doing this, i thank you and hope all sides of your pillow is cold (or warm if you prefer it that way)

Well, it will basically be fanfic. But you can save series just by covering some author recent mistakes.
I think you could definitely do a series heavily inspired by Confinement, same concept, but I think you should hard reboot it with actual voice actors and putting your own twist on the art style, starting with episode one to help establish your changes. I'm only saying this because I think that would help give the series a breath of fresh air, help it feel more like YOUR project and less like you just picked up someone else's. But I will say, the AI voice isn't bad and you have the style nailed down pretty damn well

Omg we are saved! please man you gotta do ep 8 you cracked the code you can save the series and the fans please any confinement is better than that god awful excuse for an episode 8 (connor deserved so much better 😢) the fan base would love to help with writing if you need help you gotta do a full episode so it can get attention and then most if not the whole fan base will be behind you!
Only thing i'd advise against is using ai voices -- i'd recast the voices, otherwise it looks great !

Which one? Your probably not talking about "implanted" a series I have on my shorts but I probably will finish that eventually. It has a really good twist I just need to get to the good part of the story. I actually like this series a lot, I think it has a lot of potential.
The scp series I have like half a wondertainment episode, but the voice actor kinda got flakey and I think quit. So I would have to recast.
People think just getting a great Voice actor is easy but it's been pretty much my biggest hurdle.

Yes! Bung has been stealing money for over a year and abandoned the property. And besides the main character they have no claim to scp properties.
Wost case you rename him "konner" and call it a day. You're continuing something people literally PAID the creator to fo and got scammed. You're just filling in and doing what the fans have always wanted.
Keep going, and I promise you will have nothing but support from the actual fans and large majority.
