Thank you for the appreciation. Your example isn't a sentence; it's a part (phrase). Fearing they would die in one of the heaviest attacks, they stayed inside their houses. Or They did not go out fearing they would die in one of the heaviest attacks.

Si hay algún hispanohablante tratando de dilucidar cuándo usar infinitivos o gerundios en inglés, lo que yo veo aquí es que si en una oración hay dos verbos (o lo que consideraríamos un sustantivo derivado de un verbo 'acción y efecto de'), como en 1. Ashish, here I have observed one thing about possesive pronoun of possesive adjective .what I have understood is there 5th point of gerund position , is that object of possesive pronoun or possesive adjective ,becoze in posessive pronoun won't come your word...please correct it
