That's way the photography is a great adventure, never boring. We need challenging environment, otherwise it would be too easy to obtain . Great video Dennis. Thank you for sharing.
Really well said. Sometimes when you are a tourist, traveled thousands of kilometers, spent a lot of money to get there, with a very limited time window, the pressure leads to getting the “encyclopedia shot”. Relax and enjoy the show nature has provided first. Then, when ready try to capture what you most find interesting or unique about your subject.
How on earth do you track a kingfisher during its dive? and how do you know where it's gonna dive? I mean, I read that the duration between the bird leaving its perch and exiting out of the water with a fish in its mouth is 1.5 seconds
Stumbled upon this channel yesterday. Great content, very helpful !! An idea that could give better chances to get sharp photos in action : filming the Malachite Kingfisher in action in 4k 60 fps (1dx mark II for exemple) with a high shutter speed and then extracting a still from that action. Have you guys tried it ?
The one animal subject I struggle with at times is the wild dogs .. generally they are laying around in a mess and even when together sitting or standing it’s very difficult to get a nice group image of them so I tend to look for individuals and work on shooting abstracts rather . But I do agree the impala are difficult because they all stand in a mess .. ears and heads all pointed all over expect where they are needed .. Lol 😂 ! Zebras can be the same at moments . I have to concentrate on their ears as they are forever twisted around most of the time .
What wildlife subjects do you struggle to photograph…and why?
Great video thank you for sharing.
Thanks Rob!
"Big giant mess of subjects." Exactly!
