Sucker's bet. Its Dire... Heck im surprised he lasted the video without causing one. Also, why didnt he just use a sink rather than waste energy with the electric pump? Sinks from blockheads are an infinite water source that mekanism pipes can pull from and they don't use power.
Mekanism pumps don't consume water sources they only need to be one block abobe a single water source and the pump will create infinite water out of thin air even if you speed up to the max
Dire, you feed the sodium into the reactor to make it more efficient. Not for more waste per-say. The 3rd multiblock machine you're thinking of is the thermoelectric boiler. Dumping does not dump power it dumps Steam. Basic flow of this with sodium is: Fuel and sodium into reactor Heated sodium into thermoelectric boiler and waste out of reactor Boiler heats water at 1/10th the rate of the reactor heating the sodium (1 million mb of sodium roughly becomes 100k mb of steam) steam from boiler into turbine water from turbine (pull from the vents not the valves) back into boiler Turbine valves are only for steam input or power output and nothing else. Try to make a closed system (you don't have to just a personal recommendation) I've found that generally a reactor matching size with the boiler can keep up at about half the burn rate of the reactor safely. Water cooled reactors seem to need lower burn rates or you overwhelm your system. Love Mekanism, easily my favorite tech mod and I've been blowing up so many reactors figuring this out and then also explaining it to friends since it was released.
Infinity backpack is good but it comes a bit late. By the time you get it you probably already have some automated mining and don't need it as much anymore. Dank you can get started with really early.

the best way of using salt reactions is to build three of the multi block salt towers to make the fuel. If you do you will never run low on fuel no matter how much you push the reactor.

Throw down a cooking for blockheads sink and run an ultra mechanical pipe off it in a pull configuration. You'll get enough water to fill a 9x9x17 reactor in seconds. I have one running in my direworlf20 pack world and have been using it for about a month. Generates several GFE in about 2 to 3 seconds before you need to shut it off from maxing the storage on my 9x9x17 turbine that's right next to it. I have 3 lines of pipes for water and 3 lines for steam between them. 1 each isn't enough. Every time I turn it on I laugh maniacally. I only put in enough fuel to fill a basic chemical tank when I turn it on so it runs out of fuel right before topping out the power storage I have. When testing if you fill power storage the turbine locks up and all the water evaporates out of the reactor and boom. Also I'm not a wimp and put my reactor IN my base. :p
Throw down *numerous* sinks and pull out of multiple sides with ultimate pipes. You can get to the point where you're pulling water so fast you'll never run out even if the turbine backfills.
My only gripe with mekanism right now is how long it takes to set up the fission/fusion line for the power suit. It's my favorite tech mod but it really is just dumb how long it takes to even get the base. You should be able to build the base items and then the upgrades cost the pellets and such.

There is. It's the material for the suit he mentioned. You can also reprocess it and you end up with another kind of waste. That you can't do anything with except let it decay in the waste bins. I'd recommend 10 or 20 of the bins and just let them sit. They will empty out eventually.
