  • Making thousands of frames efficiently with this simple device #beekeepingtips #beekeepinginireland
In this video I make up a simple frame jig which helps ease the monotonous task of making hundreds of frames each year. While this jig is made to BS frame size, the concept can be applied, to any frame - Langstroth, Commercial, Smith, Zander, Dadant and so on.
I'm a part time Beekeeper from Ireland, mainly involved in honey production. I have been keeping bees since I was 8 years of age, with a hiatus somewhere in between.
I also do Queen rearing on a self sustaining level.
Currently we maintain around 50 colonies at various apiary sites, but we do have plans for expansion.
We have a number of projects lined up for this year, although we may have to put some on hold until next year due to recent unforeseen events. But we do hope to show you our progress here.

Let me know through the comments if there is anything in particular you would like covered through my videos. I don't intend to do 'how to' or instructional type videos, but rather how I do things; which may not always be the best way, but which I find works for me.
    Thanks for watching!

Just got a nailer after years of tapping away with a hammer - you don't use your nailer for the bottom bars because they are harder to remove for reuse with brads?

Precisely that - I find the flat head of the panel pin allows for easier removal and the nail isn't left behind in the sidebar. I'll even reuse the nail in most instances; that's the miserly beekeeper in me!
