What’s really great to use with a hot oil treatment is a steam cap! It’s an extra step but I love using it with treatments. It really helps oils and conditioners to penetrate the hair shaft.

That oil shouldn’t be smoking like that. Oils oxidize, you don’t want hot oil going directly into plastic and also that is a lot for the scalp. You can heat the bottle with the oil inside with warm or hot water in a bowl.

I’m new to taking care of my natural hair and heard that oils were sealants. So if it’s put on dry hair, it will seal in the dryness…keeping moisture from water, from getting to the hair strand. The oils will make your hair feel soft but it’s not moisturizing the hair strand if the hair strand was already dry. Is that inaccurate or am I misunderstanding the info from the videos I’ve watched?

Spritz your hair with water before you do the hot oil treatment. I would recommend doing the Hot oil treatment before you shampoo your hair with a clarifying shampoo.

Yep, I started doing hot oil treatment on my hair on shampoo days, before the shampoo. It works wonders. It’s a few extra steps but I always make time for it.

@@Anne_oneThis is what I’m trying to figure out. I’ve been doing it before shampooing but someone else brought up doing it after shampooing, during deep conditioning. They said the put the oil then the deep conditioner and apply heat then rinse your hair out. That way your hair still has the nourishment of the oil and conditioning without shampooing it all off.

Question so my girl be lasting a few weeks without washing her hair then she wanna be applying oil in her hair before she does wash it, I tell her to wash it first that way she removes the bad oils and dirt from her hair before applying the hot oil treatment in order for it to actually attain/grasp the hair roots and itself. Is this better if your hair is cleaner?

    • @aiziedebeeking8791

Naw, applying any non - washing substance and oil especially to dirty hair can cause damage and lead to infections due to the fact how the hair is dirty and oils usually leave greasy effects. She needs to wash before applying any substance in her hair that isn't wash material. It's not healthy. You can do research too.

The oil is inside the bottle, the bottle was in a lot of water..u don’t let it cook you just heat it until it warms up then turn ya stove off and apply the oil that’s IN the PLASTIC bottle to the UNCLEANED hair
