Not sure if you're joking, but Blazing Sword was a prequel made after Binding Blade, and both of those characters were dead according to that game. Unless Blazing Sword was gonna include an epilogue that revealed Hector was really just hiding for Binding Blade and that Canas abandoned his children for no goddamn reason, their fates were written and the ink was dry.
Durban the Berserker literally told him that part of the fate of wielding Armads was that he would die in battle. Hector despite knowing this still accepted his fate and used Armads to prevent another Scouring by defeating Nergal. It's pretty clear in the story of FE7.
Imagine if hector flew up into the sky, shooting arrows, spears, rocks, hail balls, laser beams, grenades, dynamite bombs, and rocket launchers. before dropping down for a critical cleaving strike.
I spit my drink out laughing when I saw the level-up at the end. I know that *_must_* mean Hector's stats are capped, but it was hilarious seeing only the Level number increase.

Both characters were made to be at there best. Ike won. I edited Eliwood to be a copy of Ike, except Ike still has Eliwood's Horse weakness. Ike had Ragnell, Hector had Armads. Ike won. Ranger Ike had the Regal Sword, Lord Hector had the Wolf Beil. Ike won. And Swordslayer gives Hector an advantage. The point is that you're basically proving to me that Hector can win if the advantages are tipped in his favor. When I did the fight, I wanted to see who would win. And Ike won.
I didn't say Hector would automatically win, just that the comparison between the two characters would be more fair. Take away Hector's, too, and that's a match I'd like to see ;3 Though since I haven't played this game in a while, remind me: Other than support/legendary weapon bonuses, what advantages would Hector posses?
