How To Fit a Thule Bike Rack to a Caravan, Straightforward Right?

Fitting a Thule bike rack to the back of my caravan, the brackets are already pre-fitted by Swift Caravan, so this should be straightforward, right?
It seems that Thule may have over simplified the instructions and quite a lot of head-scratching was required.
This Thule bike rack is designed to be fitted to a touring caravan or motorhome, if you have a Swift model from 2016 it will have the bars pre fitted, however, the kit also comes with the fitting brackets so you can fit it to other motorhomes or caravan brands
The rack I have fitted is a Thule Elite G2 - Standard version, the difference between a 'standard' and 'short' is the distance between the upper and lower mounts. here is a link to the rack.

All Swift motorhomes and caravans (except Basecamp) from 2016 come with the mounts fitted, however, this kit does come with the mountings if you are looking to fit to a non 2016 onwards Swift you can do that.
