Nice find, that 3Ah definitely isn't up to the same spec as the other 2 battery packs. Would be interesting to see if anyone else has a 3Ah unit and if it compares or if you have a really early design that has now been upgraded.
@@Tools-TestedI just took 4x 3ah batteries apart and they all had the better quality connections, like your 5ah and 1.5ah. Its currently September 2024 and I bought all of my batteries in summer of 2023, and I had one that would only charge on the black top charger, if it was drawn way down, but then I tried jumping 2 other 3ah batteries to the dead one, and/or putting them on a 3amp ebike charger, killed the other 2 in short order. I now have what seems to be about 2 dead cells in each of the 3x dead 3ah batteries, but out of 4x 3ah, 3x 8ah and 1x 1.5ah, I only really had issues with 1x 3ah, and it was my fault, I killed the other 2. We use the crap out of these, the 8ah are used and abused daily in my boys ebikes, and I've refurbished 2 houses and literally nothing has broken, and I was a prior Dewalt owner, but lost everything in a horrible life event.
Yeah been trying to pick one up, all my stores don't have them yet. Im going to test it, once I can get my hands on one. Probably will put the results in the description and pin a comment.
I wonder how the 8ah battery is. Also a good review might be testing all the 18-20v Battery inverters from a bunch of the battery brands. I just got the Bauer and it will do fine but only puts out 117v not 120v like from the line.
@@Tools-Tested I got the Ridgid battery inverter and it puts out 121v while that same Bauer is now doing like 115-116v. Both are modified sine-wave (well all these types are) But would love to see a test of these.
These come so close to just fitting as a drop in replacement in Milwaukee batteries. But the dumb plastic gets in the way. Also where the battery contacts are that meet the tool are back just a bit too much.. but it's so close. The bauer battery cells are meh. It's in a well made case though.. i think the light blue batteries were 1500mAh rated ... And that companies batteries sell cheap.
i have chinese branded tool named total/ ingco , they use highstar batteries, i do about 400 cycles charging and discharging (battery cell rated 300 cycles) and it hold up really good
Currently my Bauer tool lineup is growing quickly. My latest purchase is the shop vac thst came with a free 3Ah battery. During my initial tests I noticed a significant increase of suction when I used my 5Ah battery over the 3Ah battery. You could letterally hear the rpms increased with the 5Ah batt. "Note" both batteries were fully charged. While ive never had an issue with my 3Ah batteries Ide much rather use my 5ah for the demading jobs and my 1.5s for my impact or drill. Ps great video. I had seen a video not that long ago that showed samsung cells being used. So now I want to investigate my own just to check.
Yeah definitely a boost using the 5ah. I heard the same on Samsung cell, but believe that was the original battery’s. Just got the 8ah, will be testing it soon.
I have two 1.5AH 20V Bauer battery packs. Less than 2 yrs old, barely used. When put on the charger, I get both lights on the charger blinking at the same time. Is there any fix? I bought one new battery from HF put on the charger and this works fine. Thanks
How do they come up with the amp hours? 5 of the 18650-1500 are 1.5 ah but 10 of them are 3.0 ah and 10 of the 18650-2500 are 5 ah but I did have 1 battery that I bought brand new that didn't seem to have much capacity at all and it was a 3 ah but besides that all the other ones that I have seemed to be alright and I have all the different sizes so far except 12ah which I hope to get 1 some time fairly soon.
Did Harbor freight switch from using Samsung cells to much cheaper Chinese cells because people used to say that there was good quality Samsung cells in the Bauer battery packs but now what's in there high star? They must be Chinese and people say the Chinese lithium batteries aren't very good at all is that true and What do you think about it? Maybe they decided to just put the good quality batteries in the Hercules battery packs and just basically screw over all the Bauer customers possibly?
Yeah I agree, looks like they now run Highstar to keep the cost down and the Samsung cells are only found in the Hercules Extreme packs. The highstar cells will pack less punch and the amount of cycles before they are useless will be less compared to the SS cells. Defiantly sucks, wish they made a pro version. But seems like they are pushing the pros to use Hercules.
@Tools Tested oh shoot you're right. Don't see anything on the website either. Strange but yeah I saw em and they're physically bigger than the 5.0's. I was thinking about getting one for the cordless bauer vacuum that I own but looks like it won't even fit. Would have been perfect for it.They're listed at $119 so they're a bit pricey but still cheaper than milwaukee batteries
@@doom3380 Interesting I might have to check out my HF tomorrow…. Yeah that seems steep for a Bauer battery but like normal I’m sure it will drop after being out a few months.
1.5 x2? Failure 1 at overdraw 1 failure for unknown reasons 1x 3 ah failure from letting it get too low im gonna try bumping it alive again multiple 5 Ah’s have refused to die so far
@@nickabel8279exactly, after 3 years of hard use, I finally killed a 3ah, and all of the 1.5 and 8ah and the rest of the 3ah are still going strong. I've rehabbed several houses and a barn, and haven't killed any Bauer tools, and I own nearly all of them, and a few Milwaukees.

Yep crazy how different the 3ah is, I agree hopefully it's just an early design.

Yeah sadly very close, just like Hercules and dewalt except for the pins being switched. Just close enough were it would almost work.
I got all 3 sizes and none of them failed yet. Had the 2 smaller ones for at least a couple years now.

would you test Hercules right angle drill (hole hawg)
Probably be a few months before I can. The Dyno needs to be upgraded for more powerful drills like this and angle grinders.

Yeah others have commented about issues with Bauer battery's, sadly I don't know of a fix for it. I would say the pack probably has a bad cell.
Have you compared the regular lithium vs the newer hypermax?
Them were hyper max 🔋
It's not blinking and it's still charging after hours?
The Bauer chargers are very slow... but when its fully charged both the green and red will go solid.

Yes resting is around 20, voltages in the video are under load.
