The old railroad bed still exists and can be followed some ways towards bouse. Also a lot of the pipe running to the bill williams river can still be seen. I have been to Swansea many times. Once I found a grave site with marker of a little girl who died in 1938 there. It is definitely worth the trip and can be reached from either the Parker or Bouse side, a sturdy high clearance vehicle is recommended. Take plenty of water!
Thank you for that information. I seem to be getting a lot of views on this video so the information you provided is quite valuable to others as well as myself. Thanks for watching and remember new video goes out every Saturday.
Yes copper is on the rise once again and I do think a lot of old prospects will get a second look. Like they say ... best place to find a new mine is beside already existing mine. Thank you for watching. Have a great week.
It's not just the shortage or the price, its the gouvernments reliance on forigne countries, the west needs to be independant and to do that certainly some of the rare earth mines need to be kept open.
I use to live in Wickenburg . They have an old train engine. I didn't have any idea that was what it was used for ( swansea) ! Thanks for history and memories!
Is this a good example of a ghost town where you can walk up to the old slag dumps and maybe interest a 14-year-old boy in a little bit of history this summer with what we might find?
Very well could be. There is BLM camping allowed and BLM take care of the area. Might be pretty hot though in the summer. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it.
