That would've been dope to see Magic play in the 92 and 93 season. Definitely a what if

I remember the Lakers really struggled during this period.
But yet they were still good enough win big games from time to time.

The Lakers had a good roster but they weren't going to compete at a title-contending level and it was sad knowing HIV was the reason Johnson couldn't play (no pun intended).... I really thought at training camp watching them in preseason they were ready to win a title.

Most players slow down after 10 years in the league, but I felt Magic was most effective in the 90 and 91 season. He was never a high flyer anyway and was always backed up by Coop. Whereas the mileage and lack of a backup killed Worthy, he had to rely more so on jumpers by 93. For sure Magic could have been the same force if he had played from 92 to 94.

It was a sad day for basketball November 7,1991 when the greatest point guard ever had to retire because he had attained the HIV Virus

Do you think Steph Curry can ever surpass Magic as the greatest point guard ever?

@@QuinnClips247 They both revolutionized the point guard position in due time if Steph stays healthy he can probably surpass Magic

A sad day indeed. I was looking forward to the finals match ups of him vs MJ for years to come. With Larry being done then magic retiring all of the great super super-stars were all gone except for MJ. GOOD THING HE BECAME THE BIGGEST STAR IN NBA HISTORY or the NBA would have had a damn hard time keeping ass's in the seats.

He would probably of had another good 2 or 3 years left. The lakers had just came off making it to the finals. It was truly unfortunate.

I think those guys enjoyed not having Magic there for 1991-92 because you play with a guy that has all that power and control over other guys, it's annoying as hell and those guys just wanted their own careers to just do their thing.... More than likely they'll say the right things for the camera because who is going to talk against Magic?... I vouch for any guy who just tells the truth about what a foolish tyrant those leaders were because most of those guys cannot do anything unless they hold other guys' careers in their hands because they aren't true leaders.

No way! That’s like saying a good football team would find it annoying to have a superstar quarterback! In many ways Magic was the first ever “quarterback” to play basketball

@@TiltBrook I'm not referring to the actual team success... I'm talking about the mentality of a cruel tyrant ruler who lords himself over other players messing up their ability to do their jobs freely.... See, the public worships these guys due to the media lie told about them but the guys working with them really see how they are... see, that's what I'm referring to... sometimes it's best to get rid of a person that's a burden on other people; Magic wasn't a burden on the Lakers or the city of Los Angeles but on the guys working with him. Why do you think he came back in the 1995-96 season?... He missed being a tyrant like that and what happened? He came back, sold tickets, the young guys didn't vibe with him because he basically didn't let them grow because he was living in his past trying to compete with Jordan -- that's why he came back; Jordan could do it, Magic was like, "I can do it too..." Which begs the question concerning him playing in the Olympics and in the All-Star game in '92 with HIV... you see? Remember he tried to come back in 1992-93 but had to quit again because when he got cut, the trainer in a preseason game bandaged him up and that was that... people noticed, all eyes were on Magic, so either he was putting everyone at risk or he never had it? Pick one.
