Dr. Shakir is my TMS doctor. I am LVING AGAIN. I am at session #19 and I'm seeing so many positive changes. The pain, I was in every day, is not there anymore. I have more energy, I can think much clearer and I can organize, plan and excecute the goals I make. I honestly feel twenty years younger at times now.

@@williamreilly3172 You know, I am ready to have more TMS done. Things have settled back (slowly) to a depressed state. But nowhere near what I was like before the TMS. My case was severe & didn't allow me to break free from it. I still see good days, I experience less pain, better mental clarity...right now I have a hard time getting things done...like basic or important things_ I can do things, just have a harder time than I should getting things done & that was part of the depression I was in. After TMS, I experience more normal days than I did before the treatment. The brain is a peculiar thing & so is depression. No regrets with TMS.

I wonder if it’s in the clinical phase ? Cleared by the FDA on what platform . Also is it covered by most of any insurances ? And it probably affects the subconscious to what extent ?? Is it creating susceptibility on suggestions , keywords, or sounds , visuals , or tastes ?

PhotosynthesisLove it wasn't until week 4 I noticed any changes at all. I was so discouraged I didn't notice anything until then. When noticing chances it came down to me being More stable and less suicidal thoughts. Then eventually back to being my normal self. Hoping I'll stay good for a long while & you will too.

Really Wish I could get this treatment, but my insurance doesn't cover it :(. People talk about how this treatment makes them feel back to their normal selves. But I have never really been happy so to be happy would be like becoming a new person! I hope I can get this treatment someday if my insurance covers it.

She seems...manic--to me. Is that just being in normal non depressed state or is this a potential side effect ?? ( at this point I would choose mania over depressed)
    Just curious.

+Mandy Meche-Scardino maybe thats how is just is... and I don't think that the TMS therapy would have a 'manic' side effect. from what I have read and clinical data, TMS therapy seems like a good option for treating depression alternatively. :)

Some people do stop TMS because they recognize it caused hypomanic symptoms. I’ve done a targeted form of TMS for a few years. I get worse for a few weeks and then suddenly I have tons of energy but also get very anxious. So they had to start treating the area that’s responsible for dealing with anxiety. That helped create a balance. I can’t go 5 days a week or I get headaches and more severe symptoms. I go 3x a week for about 4-6 weeks and then 2x a week once I’m feeling better. That allows me treatment allotment of 36 sessions to stretch out. Unfortunately, around 5-6 weeks after treatments stop, I hit a wall and crash hard. It’s not approved for ongoing treatment. So I have to suffer until it’s been about 3 months since my last session. The dr diagnosis me with major depression, again, and we start over. It’s ridiculous that they don’t approve maintenance sessions like medications. Instead, I’m on this Roller coaster of feeling crappy for a few months, better for a few, back and forth. Meds don’t work so I have to take the few months at a time which is better than never.
Back to the point, the TMS tech told me that they do have patients that go manic from the treatments, just as some people do on antidepressants. They end up stopping TMS or treating the mania.
