I’m doing the same thing to my MK1 Scirocco. When installing the ball joints on the A-Arms I got ‘nylon lock nuts’ (M7-1.0) to replace those regular nuts in the ball joint kit. If I didn’t use the ‘nylon lock nuts’ I would get some lock washers, and use Blue Locktight on the standard nuts. Never use Red Locktight, they will be on forever. 😢
Loving the build. I assume you're removing the power steering pump from the engine? Do you know what length aux belt you'll need? Iv got a similar set up but in a mk2 jetta and need a belt to remove the pump
did you have any trouble with the steering rack bushings not sitting flat? i have power flex black bushings on my mk1 steering rack but they are running into 2 “humps” that are behind the drivers side steering rack mount, causing the rack to sit crooked. any advice?
They were a little stiff initially when putting them on, but I didn’t have any other issues it all sits fine for me. On my Caddy behind the mounts it is flat if you send me a message on Instagram I can send you some pictures
@@zaksgarage okay cool, just wanted to see if you were having the same issue. I measured between the center of the rack and the firewall, and it looks like they are the same distance. So hopefully it should be okay.
I just did mine .. 2 hours to make new … and 5 hours to clean all the grease off of everything 😂😂😂😂😂 nice work sir !!!
Came across this channel by accident and I'm glad I did. Looking forward to the progress 💪
