Thank you so much for the kind words, Indiejacob! I'm super glad you enjoyed the demo, and thank you for the excellent video.
Daisy is a cutie!
Hello there! Sorry about the lack of videos over the past couple months. Life's been pretty crazy but now that I'm all caught up on that, it's time to get to crankin' out some stuff!
Nice
I've waited 18 years for this. Finally a futuristic racer taking inspiration from F-Zero instead of Wipeout.
Just out of curiosity, what's the difference?
@@rutgerniemeijer Handling in F-Zero is more responsive, there are *no weapons*, tracks are usually quite wide, and while F-Zero does not have speed classes, regardless of difficulty, players can go very fast as soon as they play their first race. There's also the ability to Side and Spin Attack which more upcoming antigrav racers are embracing. There's also some of the mechanical techniques being similar to F-Zero X, which Aero GPX is making easier.
@@custom-runfortunately, there’s one thing Aero GPX does that’s a downgrade; health and boost being separate.
While I understand it’s to bring in a more casual audience and to help differentiate it from being F-Zero, boost and health being one bar is what gave F-Zero the risk/reward element that got your blood pumping, with every boost contributing to your possible demise but it also being the only way you’ll realistically get first place.
@@custom-rthank you very much for the clarification. All I could gather from the video was 'sense of speed' as if theres a slow anti grav racer, and a health/boost bar. Given boost is in most, I knew the difference had to be more than a UI element, but couldnt pin it down. Helpful comment.
Even tho i am not a big f-zero fan, this tane is just a *MASTERPIECE*
The sense of speed is just great, heck i could argue is even better than some sonic games
Also can you make a review of the game Yomi Hustle? Man you gotta play this game, is currently on beta yet people pull off some crazy things with it
I found out about the game because of your tweets about it, and I had to chip in $30 myself. The last time I donated to a Kickstarter game was 4 years ago, and the guy making it has yet to show ANYTHING worthwhile since then. Hopefully things are different this time.
I hope more eyes get brought to this game. Thank you for making a video and spreading the word!
I heard of this game back in June and fully intended to back it, but missed the window to do so. Will be trying the demo ASAP and snagging Aero GPX day 1 thanks to this video, though. Thanks for reminding me of this really awesome looking game!
Always a good day when Jacob uploads
First I had Project Tiger Moth premiering tonight, and now Jacob's getting the F-Zero Nintendo refuses to make! Good day so far!
Was just watching ur content yesterday wondering when you’ll upload again glad to see something new!
Have you played XF yet?
Ah, that's probably why I didn't jive with this game, it's more like F Zero X and I'm looking for another F Zero GX.
But are there wacky characters with good character design?
FAST RMX IS AN F-ZERO NOT A WIPEOUT YOU TAKE THAT BACK
(Also if you haven't peeped XF Extreme Formula you definitely should)
Gotta respect the keyblade just sitting there next to the couch.
I think the main thing this game needs, from my viewing of the maps, is they need to work on building an environment around the track. Other than that, this game looks like a fun time.
try super pilot too even if Aero GPX seems better super pilot is somewhat more f-zero than wipeout. From a F-Zero Fan to an other.

new video thank you Jacob
hell yeah this game is great!
but why play this over F-Zero GX when its just singleplayer? I thought a modern take on the game will be online and interesting, but being singleplayer is such a letdown
Because it's newer? Physics are improved in several areas, accessibility options are easier to access and plentiful in comparison to GX and builds on what F-Zero X and GX did while bringing something to the table (Drill Dive, split Health/Boost bars), and other subtle additions.
As for lack of online, first, Nintendo Switch's online capabilities have always been questionable. One of their biggest games, being Smash Ultimate struggles to be consistent with online play. There is no way 30-man racing at F-Zero speed online would work without serious upgrades.
And that's to say nothing about needing servers to manage as well as rolling out potential balance patches as I assume there would be a competitive scene dying for online.
The want for F-Zero Online Multiplayer is there mostly because most fans never have local people to play against them. And this has been a request for several games like Super Pilot as well. Those games if, online, would be likely too intense because you're still taking into account the speed and maybe more than 20 people at once. And most groups making those games may not be able to afford servers or are at a point that deciding to add online would require *restructuring the game from the ground up*. The other thing is that some of these games usually aren't built with online multiplayer in mind, but keep in Local Multiplayer (maybe people using Steam's Remote Play could get something out of it, but that's the best some of these games could do risking a loss to development progress)
Redout 2 and Wipeout Omega Collection are two Antigrav games I know of that use online features and have an easier time running them because most of the time, the number of opponents you race is within the single digits.
@@custom-r ok but I want to play online tho
@@custom-r I see your f-zero love everywhere, great reply
you're back yeaaaaaaah
ooh nice crisp cel shading, that helps a lot with visibility.
I've been sympathizing with all the people who want more F-zero, but I have to admit Nintendo has a point.. a pure racing game, without weapons in it? boring to me. Not something I'd drop 60 bucks on.
F Zero is not a pure racing game. It's a combat racer, you're incentivized to kill your opponents to make the next races in a grand prix easier, people just don't realize that you're supposed to attack the opponents. It's why the health is separate in this game, and you have a side slam that deals more damage than just the spin attack, but if you miss literally slams you into the wall.
@@stanzacosmi huh, it felt to me like you had to pretty much work really hard to stay on the inside track and had no ... 'budget' left to try to bump other racers.. I guess I never played it
@@KairuHakubi yeah. KOing enemies refills your energy, whether it be with the side slam or spin attack in F Zero GX
@@stanzacosmi whaaaat awesome.. i did not know that.
@@KairuHakubi Hence why I call it a combat racer. Try playing it like that and remember, internet archive has a copyright exemption on stuff that's no longer for sale, requires specific hardware to access, and is unsupported
Sick!
Graphics suck btw, can't compare with Fzero GX
thanks i gotta download this
Awesome!
oh this would be perfect on the steam deck
I am looking forward for this but im kinda afraid if Nintendo see this they're gonna shut this whole thing down sue the creator and mess up everyone life up of waiting a similar F-Zero game.
This is all original assets. Aero GPX is an original IP. This is like saying Pokemon successors can get sued for being similar to Pokemon on some level.
Aero GPX is going to be okay. The dev has said this many times it won't be sued.
I love how you can claim to be an fzero fan and not know that nintendo has tried several times to make new f zero games with different devs but couldnt do to scheduling issues
