Since 'Ride the Lightning' celebrates its 34th anniversary this week, I decided to cover my favorite song from this album, 'Creeping Death'. It's a classic of the thrash metal genre because of its thundering guitar riff. As always with the overhead view so you can use this video as a tutorial.

How do you get that beautiful snare sound?
It’s a 8“ deep Snare (Ludwig Black Magic) that’s tuned rather low in this video. There’s also an Evans control ring that makes it a bit punchier.
EQ wise there’s nothing fancy going on. Tbh I think it sounds a bit too boxy here and lacks some high mid attack, but I’m glad you like it anyway :)

I no im a drummer to and it is i did not have a stand for it and i had a floor tom and it did not have a drum head so i had my snare in the tom with a piece of plexiglass in it😂😂😂

That’s called a cymbal choke. It’s used when you want to accent a certain part of the song/guitar part
