Technically by far, joshua meader wins it. Reminds me of shawn lane and holdsworth. But compositionally I think the first one was the most interesting so he wins.
@Dominick Kyle dude I tried it and got banned wtf did you do differently? Help all of my michael cera feet pics are stored there i need it back now omg please help
ye ppl mostly admire speed but those are shredders xD to me personally it has to be melodically satisfying ... 2 chords played slowly together fitting perfectly is on a whole different level from 50 chords played in 16ths where just 2 or 3 of those 50 sit uniquely well xD
The second one is the best, I think is the same guy that transcribed a Jacob Collier's solo on "The Flintstones" for guitar. Outstanding timing and precision.
Absolute monster but too many notes too fast dosn't necessarily cut it. Being more humble and selective having those skills will take him further. The first kid...man, that's beautifully gnarly
How is nobody talking about the last one? Beautiful phrasing and smooth jazzy sound compared to the others. All are amazing but I had to recognize the last.
No1! Extra points for performance, really into it. awesome man. kudos to no2, thats a wicked run in the end! Thx guys. You made put new strings on my dusty ibanez.
IMHO, the 1st prize is very well deserved. The phrasing and note selection are amazing. It's some sort of mix between augmented scales and messiaen modes. Very good!!
Undoubtedly Asian Monster UNDA deserves a first position, he was so fluid flawless technical and at the same time melodic. Very interesting while listening as well as seeing , fabulous playing. The last two HUSA & LIAM is very interesting entry , very enjoying and different expression.
1st guy just killed it. He is clean as fuck and there's a sense of development his idea/solo. 2nd its cool, aesthetically pleasing technique, not the greatest tone for the track (imho) 3rd has great melodic content and sense of rhythm, really interesting take!! 4th was cool. Good Sound and melodic ideas and he kept it interesting 5th as cool and correct as the notes might be, sound does come into play, sowhis "jazzy" melodies sound a bit out of place. Probably because of the phrasing intention/sound/dynamics. Great entries!
I hope to see more and more of all of these players. Every one of them is incredible! They have the ability to expand my consciousness in a split-second.
1 and 4 were miles ahead for me on first listen. i loved 4’s musicality, and it meshed so well with the track, and number 1 just crashed out of the gate swinging, and i never forgot that performance the entire way through. found myself subconsciously comparing everyone to them before i knew it until number 4!
Apart from technique (2nd), I think there should be dynamics, space, melody, counterpoint. For me 1st and 3rd where the best (3rd best melodic content, my favourite)
Totally agree... the 2nd one sounded perfectly clean playing ALL of those notes, but I didn't enjoy the solo at all lol... but the 1st one for me had like the best vibe and sounding solo for the song... 3rd is very close too. But that's my opinion :p
The one who tells the most compelling story must always win. Just flying at top speed all around the fret-board without context or melody is total b.s. Sweetness and melody RULES!!
1st one was interesting composition, 2nd was wow, 3rd guy was able to make those notes sound so perfect. 4th guy had a melodic style but I guess it kinda didn’t go well with the backing track. If he had a backing track that sounds like the rhythm in Plini, he’d do good. 5th guy jazzed his way and damn tasty licks everywhere.
i actually like number 4 the most hahaha.. i like his melodic approach, he sings to the chord progression lel. but maybe not tough enough to win contest like this. do u know his name?
man Meader about to blow up. heard of him last month and since then seen his videos pop up everywhere. guy cam play. his giant steps was on point too. that last three seconds of his solo, where most guys just bend and fade... was insane. that said, I'm not mad the first guy won
I'm only going by how it matched the track.. and for me, #3 had it. First two obliterated him from a technical standpoint.. but I found his the most listenable and catchy.
1st one is structured well with the beat, 2 sounds/feels like he's just playing fast and doesn't have the feel and emotion like the first one, same for 3, 4th guy plays with feel, last guy sounds good too
Love how the first guitarist really underlined the backings rhythms with his accents. And this is no small feat considering how syncopated and odd these are.
How funny that fusion guitarist almost win in every rock/metal solo contest.. alunda study jazz in Thailand, for Josh i think he is more like jazz player now
#1 was an absolute MONSTER
Totally agree
beginner
intermediate
advance
pro
ASIAN
He is. He and Tramaine are amazing.
6 strings are more then enough and he proved it.
Unda Motherfuckin Alunda
#1 It is RAW TALENT, love his phrasing and his style of improv, and #2 His technique is BRUTAL
Yes, the 2nd guy is an absolute monster.
ya wtf I was blown away
That's Josh Meader. You should hear all the stuff he can do, absolutely kills. Along with Mateo Mancuso, they are the next guitar gods.
He's a jazz monster
He should've been the 1st winner :D
@@motorcitysmitty joshua meader is his name... but you're right: these two are the best guitarists of the new generation!
The 1st guy deserves to be the winner.. Stunning solo!!!
The first 2 are insanely good
Technically by far, joshua meader wins it. Reminds me of shawn lane and holdsworth. But compositionally I think the first one was the most interesting so he wins.
Yeah, Josh’s sounds like an actual anime or video game soundtrack LOL
I agree I liked first place better compositionally. Also a big Josh Meader fan too
@Dominick Kyle dude I tried it and got banned wtf did you do differently? Help all of my michael cera feet pics are stored there i need it back now omg please help
@@joshcordova3739 omg dude you got banned too?!1!1!!1

The 4th guy is actually Tosin himself
Unda's Solo was absolutely monstrous and that bend at the end was so nice. Well done to all winners!
The second one is the best, I think is the same guy that transcribed a Jacob Collier's solo on "The Flintstones" for guitar. Outstanding timing and precision.
He also transcribed Cory Henry's solo in "Lingus"
@@onixtheone That was absolute madness.
I love this Flintstones solo that he transcribed
Lol yeah he’s nuts. He’s very young too, 23 years old with 16 years of guitar experience is pretty insane.
Absolute monster but too many notes too fast dosn't necessarily cut it. Being more humble and selective having those skills will take him further. The first kid...man, that's beautifully gnarly
First one blew my mind, third had unreal tone and pinpoint accuracy with notes.
Love the spamming riff in the first one's.
@@picklel0vestotickle448 Me too bro, me too. I can’t stop replaying it
How is nobody talking about the last one? Beautiful phrasing and smooth jazzy sound compared to the others. All are amazing but I had to recognize the last.
2nd guy (Joshua Meader) did amazingly imo.
Thought the same 🔥
None of em even came close to him
he was so fucking clean and smooth
The first guy was the best. Had originality and good ideas.. The rest just played scales.
I love his dissonant outro, but generally like 1st more. Has some tasty ideas
Props to all of these guys for being able to play over this track. It's not easy 🔥🤘🔥🤘
Shoutout to Jung mato who had an absolutely sick as hell solo for this.
How in the hell are there only 640 views of this in a week?!?!?!
And here's another vote for Josh Meador (#2), although #4 is right up there.
Number 4 not getting enough shout outs, some really nice phrasing in that one
@@CatmanJimbo 4 is better than 2 as far as composition goes
#4 played perfectly for the record itself. #1 or #2 were def the most skilled renditions. I'd def go with #4 for a recording though.
3rd had a very bluesy feel, liked it more. Meader is a beast as usual. But the 1st one roared like no other.
Josh Meader ftw, but holy smokes this is a talented group!
0:35 what a line!
Wow! They don't get to be named?! Who are these amazing players!??
check the description
@@kskutoob Ah ok, the description has been updated (wasn't there before).
Joshua Meader (#2), hell yeah!
No1! Extra points for performance, really into it. awesome man. kudos to no2, thats a wicked run in the end! Thx guys. You made put new strings on my dusty ibanez.
Awesome contest hard to pick between top 5 all so good 👍
IMHO, the 1st prize is very well deserved. The phrasing and note selection are amazing. It's some sort of mix between augmented scales and messiaen modes. Very good!!
Imo #3 was the best one followed by #1
Undoubtedly Asian Monster UNDA deserves a first position, he was so fluid flawless technical and at the same time melodic. Very interesting while listening as well as seeing , fabulous playing.
The last two HUSA & LIAM is very interesting entry , very enjoying and different expression.
The last one is my fav 🙂 very original!
2nd and 3rd guy rocked my socks extra hard, other Worldy shit man
All five of these dudes are nuts. Period! borrowing licks from every single one of them.
1st guy just killed it. He is clean as fuck and there's a sense of development his idea/solo.
2nd its cool, aesthetically pleasing technique, not the greatest tone for the track (imho)
3rd has great melodic content and sense of rhythm, really interesting take!!
4th was cool. Good Sound and melodic ideas and he kept it interesting
5th as cool and correct as the notes might be, sound does come into play, sowhis "jazzy" melodies sound a bit out of place. Probably because of the phrasing intention/sound/dynamics.
Great entries!
Clean as fuck - he's using a string damper. Should be an instant disqualification.
@@ev25zvNo
The first one is the best!
2nd Guy best solo for this style, but the last dude had such great rhythm and very tasty licks
Josh Meader (the 2nd guy) for me! He killed it! That intro run alone...*Gosh*
Well deserved! No 1 shows true brilliance! 🤘🎸 Others are exceptionally great too!
1st and 4th one are the best onesss
#3 & #4, awesome
So many young and amazing guitarists
I hope to see more and more of all of these players. Every one of them is incredible! They have the ability to expand my consciousness in a split-second.
1st and 2nd guys, both were on fire....awesome👏😊
Love the first guy! All are incredible! Joshua is great as always.
Who’s the last guy ? I like his jazzy approach.
I agree! He was quite unique and I'd live to hear more of that
1 and 4 were miles ahead for me on first listen. i loved 4’s musicality, and it meshed so well with the track, and number 1 just crashed out of the gate swinging, and i never forgot that performance the entire way through. found myself subconsciously comparing everyone to them before i knew it until number 4!
All impressive, but: Unda and Husa (1st & 4th) we’re the best for their tonal accuracy to the song imo
#1, #3 and #4
Beautiful
The first two were absolute amanzing imho
Apart from technique (2nd), I think there should be dynamics, space, melody, counterpoint. For me 1st and 3rd where the best (3rd best melodic content, my favourite)

All wonderful arrangements. #2 was my personal favorite.
Joshua and Min Kang 💪
First I think was best but they were all phenomenal
Damn, I wish I knew we were allowed to start the solo that early.
how do you even hope to stand out between these monsters? 😂😭
they are insane

Sweetness and melody RULES!!
3:15 Pat Metheny tone and phrases!

4 won composition-wise hands down holy f***!!
Husa was smooth as hell, tone was perfect, blended really well, casual approach really paid off. Dude was my winner. But all were worthy of top 5!
All absolutely insane.
The first Guitarist is the most complete for me; taste, dynamic, choice of note and technique.
man Meader about to blow up. heard of him last month and since then seen his videos pop up everywhere. guy cam play. his giant steps was on point too. that last three seconds of his solo, where most guys just bend and fade... was insane.
that said, I'm not mad the first guy won
I'm liking #3 's tone the best. Good job all. 🤘🤘🤘
Joshua Meader wins by far. Such an amazing style. Rich tonal language.
2nd guy pretty much nails everything.
Hello Speedy Gonzalez
I'm only going by how it matched the track.. and for me, #3 had it. First two obliterated him from a technical standpoint.. but I found his the most listenable and catchy.
The #4 has more soul and gives dimension to the track imo
But not that extraordinary if compared to first, second, and third winner
I feel like the 3rd solo is the solo that melds with the Animals as leaders sound the best and is my favourite. the 1st one is a very close too!
Late but same thought
Same!, the other ones were obviously skilled but I love how 3 and 1 blended with the groove
They're all good
Not my favorite from all the entries tho
But I liked 1, 3 and 4
I wonder what Matteo Mancuso would have done over this...
#2 sic solo!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
FANTASTIC
Love the jazzy scales that people elaborate around.
Awesome players!!!! 🔝🔝🔝🐴🔝🔝🔝
Anybody wanna buy a roomful of guitars, cheap? 😸
Awesome job! #2 Joshua Meader, is mind-alteringly great.
Great guitarist 👍👍👍
Nice I want to try improvising it
Oh Funk Yeah Y'all.. Total Awesomeness ☺☺😎👊💯💯
(..God if Only I Could Play Runs Like That.... )
sick, but really should list and link them all.
The only thing I could play over this track is the first solo of Knocking on heaven's door by G'N'R. Well done guys!
The first guy melted my face
1st one is structured well with the beat, 2 sounds/feels like he's just playing fast and doesn't have the feel and emotion like the first one, same for 3, 4th guy plays with feel, last guy sounds good too
Love how the first guitarist really underlined the backings rhythms with his accents. And this is no small feat considering how syncopated and odd these are.
2nd just dropped the napalm
If there's ever another one of these - I've got no chance.
2nd part of #2 is the best IMO
Meader!!! Yessir! Congratulations
No Jung Mato here ? Solos are sick !! Joshua is incredible !!
True, JungMato deserved to be just as high as Min Kang imo : /
Yeah! His entry was perfect imo
1st ripped my soul
Joshua Meader is my fave on this contest.
I dare the internet to produce a list with the names of these finalist.
all of them sound great like the clean solo the most just a bit different tone but all of them play great
The 4th guy is Abasi!!!! Look at that thumb
All talented, but I preferred the last 3 for sonic interest and a distinct lack of random sounding noodle runs.
1 > 3 > 4 > 2 > 5 imo
Dude! The first kid ripped so fucking hard
Top markotop KANE NAIN..
#2 joshua meader is on another level. But the #1 is deserves to be a winner for the solo lick.
#2 for me - hands down. #1 came in second for me.
How funny that fusion guitarist almost win in every rock/metal solo contest.. alunda study jazz in Thailand, for Josh i think he is more like jazz player now
Josh Meader for the win!
Josh for the win.
