Another Fiesta fixed thanks to this video and a used 8A6T-18K811-AD from eBay - worked like a charm. FYI - the hazard light and emergency lock / unlock buttons still work since these have dedicated wires (since they're safety critical). Everything that doesn't work is attached through the LIN bus. Here's the pinout (for pin numbers look at the molding on the unit): 1 = Hazard lights button 2 = Locking LED 3 = NC 4 = NC 5 = GND 6 = Locking button 7 = LIN bus 8 = VCC (12V)
I have the same problem, I took everything apart before seeing this video 😩 and I also looked at the keypad board but it looks perfect, I found that the power button works so it must be some electronic component that no longer works. Now I have to look for a spare part, I hope to find it.
Ottimo Tutorial.
Do you recall if the alarm lights and door lock button worked on the faulty unit? Mine is doing the exact same thing...the keypad does not light up the red leds at night as it used to. Only thing that works is the door lock and alarm butttons. I'm now in the process of finding out if the problem comes from the keypad or the radio head unit.
Hi! My 2009 Fiesta is doing the exact same thing! Do you recall if the hazard lights button and door luck buttons still worked before replacing the control panel? Mine still do but none of the other buttons respond at all, the same as in your video.
Hi Celeste. Yes, the hazard lights button and door lock buttons also worked on my car before. Exactly same problem as with you car. But what I noticed before the buttons stopped working was that,, the" button lightings" stopped working about +-two months earlier(but the buttons was still works this two monts normalny) than the buttons was dead. Did you also noticed that on your car Celeste?
@@LUFOOO It was a very strange sequence of events that happened to my system before it stopped working all together. First you had about 10 seconds after turning the car on to press some buttons (change radio channel or volume) and after that 10 seconds nothing would respond. The backlighting on the panel would flash on and off in perfect timing like when traffic lights aren't working. Then after a few weeks no buttons would be respond but the radio would still come on, you couldn't turn it off or turn the volume down (so annoying!) and eventually it just stopped turning on at all. Good news is, I bought a second hand radio control panel today and it's all working again!!!! Thank you so much for your video, and for replying :) I'm so happy and so relieved that I FINALLY found the problem :)
hi, could you rectify this problem? my fiesta is also having same problem. any solution to fix it ourself? because its hard to get a replacement control panel.
@@BoganKitty After you wrote reaction, I remembered that my radio had the same symptoms before the complete broken. Thanks for any feedback, I'm glad I helped you.
Hi Vicareede, If volume potentionmeter is not working, off course is possible to change it. You need to have skills with Desoldering, Soldering small electronic parts. But I don't think is the easy way for you how to repair it yourself. What I think, you should buy from a crashed car or from cars that are sold for spare parts from some eBay etc ,, or local saller which selling used spare car parts. I bought my panel for just 30€ from EBAY. I would recommend to you go that way.
@@LUFOOO Wow.. thanks for your answers...👍. god bless. because my plan is, change the potentiometer with guitar volume's potentiometer😀 dunno if it works or not😂

Thanks so much bro, was exactly the problem with mine, cheers pal 👍
Sehr gut. Bei meinem Fiesta funktioniert das Bedienteil am Lenkrad , aber nicht am Hauptteil.
Werde das gleich mal überprüfen. Evtl. nur ein Wackler.
Thank you for this video
I have the same problem in my fiesta 2010 and I ask can we repair the internal electronic bord of the keypad ??
please update me if you could repair it. my fiesta also having same issue, and i couldn’t get a replacement control panel.
I had an intermittent hazard switch, a daub of hot glue on back of silicone membrane did the trick.
@@letsgocamping88 Can one open the switch module the guy replaces in the video? I am looking to replace the volume resistor on mine as it's bust.

@@vicareede it’s an encoder, not a pot. Still swappable though. I’d suggest open unit and get part no of exact encoder for easiest change.

Is Card Repair possible?
Hi do you have the links for the tools? Thank you
Where did you get this card?
Question: did the car steering wheel controls not work too?
@Donato Mancini If I remember correctly, the steering wheel remote control buttons worked.
Don’t drop a flipping socket behind the radio like I just did RIP
900 euro for a new piece
