My family thought about that for the first time this year. Why the heck do we celebrate our freedom in a way that's traumatic for our vet's? Drone shows I think are beginning to pick up steam.

Going on a military post to eat off the food trucks and seriously see them blow up hundred of thousands of dollars worth of professional fireworks. They really know how to have a good time. If anyone knows where to get a good cherry bomb, it’s the military from off of the reservation. Oorah! 🇺🇸
My father was a Vietnam veteran. He had horrible PTSD from doing 2 tours as a combat medic. On the Fourth of July, he would stay home with the family Dog and blast Led Zeppelin as loud as possible to drown out the fireworks. He was the best dad ever. Passed away from cancer when I was a little girl. 😢 @Treykennedy You crossed a line with this one. Unsubscribing.
I had a veteran neighbor who had really terrible PTSD with the fireworks. His entire body shook uncontrollably as he would try to smoke on the porch to calm the nerves.
My rescue dog is literally the size of a pony but hides just like that. All we can do is play her some calming music & wrap her in a fluffy blanket when there are fireworks.
I don't know if it will help your pup, but I've found that a couple of drops of Lavender essential oil on the palms of your hands, rubbed together, and then rubbed on their ears, under their head, and then onto their chest, has helped our anxious girl. 😊
I'm the teetotal Patriot, I actually said I needed to change into my more patriotic outfit on the forth! There's honestly just different levels of patriotic clothing!😂
I live in Chicago so i dont see Patriots here but we still get a lot of fireworks even though they are illegal here. I love this skit. My favorite character was the Dog.

Fun fact about the "south side Chicago candle", it is illegal for individuals to buy and shoot off fireworks in Illinois. (It doesn't really stop us, we just go to Wisconsin and Indiana to buy the goods) but the irony is there
