If you can survive episode 4, you can survive anything. This was the finest episode of Heartstopper in any of the seasons.

Watching Captain America literally helpless crying on the floor leaning on Donnie Darko was the most powerful moment in the entire episode

Honestly the single most relatable moment in this episode was Isaac's "Do we? Oh GOD"

This is an exquisite and important piece of television - destigmatising mental illness and showing steps towards recovery, but also giving us some wonderful character growth for Charlie's mum, Darcy etc (their haircut is so cool). And the way Tao holds Nick and hugs him as he cries at the party is so moving - I cry every time I see that scene - and also demonstrates how far their relationship has come since season one. Add to that the way the episode is written, giving us both Nick and Charlie's perspectives, the brilliant editing at the party, great performances and direction - it's an episode than I genuinely think is award-worthy television, even though as a Heartstopper fan I'm obviously deeply biased; it's that good.

This one is so close to my heart. As someone who has had to go through that "rehabilitation" experience in an institution, Charlie was very lucky that his parents could afford to get him into a space like that and he didn't face further discrimination for being gay while there it seems. These places are unfortunately not always the most helpful for everyone but can be incredibly essential in short-term care during a crisis.

I’d rather have the UKs NHS versus the nonsense we have in the US. No one should go bankrupt over because of a serious illness.

Thank you, Luke! 💞 Indeed, mental/psychological issues are highly complex and unique to everyone dealing with them.

Ep 4 Was tough but not in an extreme shocking dark way, it fits the series and Alice's style perfectly. The acting is superb!

I’ve seen a lot of people mad at the mom but I suspect she’s felt something was wrong with Charlie and she didn’t know how to handle it emotionally since he wouldn’t tell her which made her feel like a bad mom and then caused her to lash out but she’s not mad at Charlie she’s mad at herself and even in this episode I’m actually happy she answered for him at the doctors appointment because look at Charlie he put his head down and completely caved in he was not gonna answer the doctors question so I’m glad she stepped up and answered for him

She's also clearly had a traumatic upbringing herself, and folks are expecting her to have tools that she was never given, to say nothing of bearing the scars from that upbringing. She clearly does her best, with what she has to work with, and is very aware of the fact that she falls short all the time. Honestly, I just feel awful for her, even as I wish she'd had better so that Charlie could have better.

Talking of driving reminds me to add to message so who see soon understand why I don't drive, basically before lockdown I was working to it but as came out of lockdown single again I just gave up completing it as don't need to drive at all when single and it's just a waste of money and pointless if just for yourself, I got a road bike where I can cycle anywhere in the country if want to
