Great Q&A, my first one watching from beginning to end. You two are an amazing couple who obviously complement each other. I’m looking forward to receiving your book and a couple paintings. I love the idea of supporting work and travels. Will (eg Trooper).
A series of bad choices is easy to do. I made some on AT going up Washington Mt. First turned on wrong trail walked a mile before turning back. Then almost immediately did it again but ran into some Rangers that said it could still go on the trail I was on. Not wanting to waste time returning for a second time I continued on. I hiked a long time crossing back and forth across a creek going uphill. Some of it got very hard to climb and it started to rain. I got myself into a spot where there were huge crevices under me and a shoulder high climb over a moss covered rock I couldn’t do with my pack on. At this point I started to realize I could fall in one of these holes and never be found. I made the hard decision to push my emergency button on my Garmin then pushed my pack over the top of rock hoping it didn’t just drop out of reach. I made it over. Then after that it was just bone chilling misery crawling through water and rocks up the mountain. I was approaching hypothermia when I heard my name called by rescuers. I never felt so relieved. I was exhausted and the temperature and visibility was so low I would have had a hard time finding shelter. The wind was also very hard. We made it to shelter and it snowed that night. Hind sight I should have turned around at several points and not kept pushing to the point of no return.
thank you so much for answering the questions❤😊 I wish you both a very very good year, with hiking, with projects with art and writing❤ I love it, to join ❤
So sorry guys again for not getting time at work to be with you. Loved your video. So much love and enthusiasm amongst you too. I wish you positive vibes in n planning your next adventure. Stay strong and remember we are only here for a short time. Go live life to the fullest and love and protect each other to the end of time. ❤
Loved watching the replay! Your stories are vividly spoken in a way I picture the video from that time! I guess it’s safe to say there is no video from the Mather descent? That descent sounds completely terrifying! Can’t wait until your next adventure! I’ll be there in support!
Thank you!! It’s so fun recounting the trip! I love that y’all know exactly what we’re talking about because you were basically there with us!! So neat!
Scary stories! Hearing them all at once is frightening. Would have been heart stopping to see a self arrest on Forester! NightCrawler filmed his crossing which was the scariest video I've seen on trail.
You both have kind hearts and a good feel for what your subscribers are looking for. Just returned to the PC and noticed I missed your live Q&A feed. Poo-poo! So, it must be time for perorates behind the studio, snow angels and finding the snowmen that fall from heaven unassembled…! Wishing you the best New Year ever.
I fell on a log while crossing Adam’s creek-luckily I held onto the log and was able to get back up. My pack threw me off balance. My husband and I hike together too.
Hey BB and Bird, didnt u guys leave camp late because of tent repair. You had some squirrel holes from leaving food in tent. That delayed your start. So you ended up pushing to catch up to RR and Boujie, but that never happenned. You guys had the Mt. Shasta town side trip for Birdies family. Then Boujie had to go off, and RR pushed forward like she always does with hiker, Nowhere, orbiting around her.
@TravelWritePaint Yup, btw you didnt mention ice cold energy and coordination zapping feeling going thru high creeks. Especially, above hip level when strong current starts grabbing your back pack. This takes minutes not seconds and not always moving in a straight line. Fighting a water beast. Maybe Birdy can create a drawing of a nightmare water beast.
I think that may be hard to answer. I think typically starting in April or May through the desert would be good (NOBO) Summer in the Sierra means more swimming!! I read a comment from of another hiker crossing Bear Creek in August and he “rocked hopped and kept his feet dry😂. It really depends on the year, but I would say probably March is too early unless it’s a light snow year. The plus side is, if you’re doing California you have a lot of miles to figure things out. If you’re ready to take on California I say set a date (PCTA says April- May) and just go! You’ll figure it out 😉
Thanks!
We're so glad you enjoyed it! 😊 thank you!
❤❤ Loved
Thank you!!! We’re excited to do another one!

@@TravelWritePaint Best you didn't record that fall. Not something you want to relive. Good luck on your adventures!

Yes you're right! A very accurate recap! I feel like that’s how the trail goes. Eventually everyone has to hike their own hike!

Sorry I missed it Work😂😂
We’re gonna do another one soon!
After I saw yall do Bear Creek I thought how does anyone do the PCT alone. , great video 🥾👏🏼
Watching replay-wish they could put bridge on Bear Creek. When would be the safest month to hike just California PCT section in your opinion?
