- I've driven German cars, own German cameras, love German pens and stationery, and enjoy German food, but I have yet to review a German camera bag... until now. As you mentioned, there are many folks for whom a few Leica bodies, several lenses, and one or more of these bags would not be a significant expenditure. But there are also many folks who stretched a bit to afford their photo gear and who are looking for travel bags a cut above the usual fare and that will literally last for decades of use (and look better and better with age, unlike most of us 😊). Many of us regular folks spend more than this for our eventual heap of canvas or Cordura bags, not to mention spending hundreds on half cases, leather straps, and so on. If one is disciplined enough to buy once and use it, these bags are not unreasonable. I really appreciate your method of clearly showing the gear in place so we can get a good idea of what fits and of how one would use the bag, for instance while trekking through multiple airports on a long trip. As always, the camera inserts (the inner bags) are especially handy if the larger bag must be checked at the gate.
Thanks for your thoughts. Yes, I understand that many can’t afford these premium camera bags, and for others, they don’t want to invest this much money in them. That’s why I review bags from various manufacturers at different price points. As for showcasing these bags, I love showing how I would use them and how much stuff they can carry :-)

Hi. How are you doing with the Oberwerth Nelson weekend medium bag? Can it fit under the seat in front of you or must it be placed in the overhead bin? I’m trying to decide on small vs medium especially since I would bring a wheeled small carry on as well to offload the weight of the Oberwerth full of camera gear and other personal belongings
I have this Sling, now they have the larger SL Sling. Are you interested? I like it's slimmer than a William bag and as roomy.

I had several genuine leather sling camera bags, but all of them were on heavier side comparing to other material. They were all very good looking and classy bags, no question. I loved them a lot actually, but by back could not justify this love so I started to search lighter options ))) Today I am mainly using Wotancraft pilot bag, sometimes Peak Design sling bag and Matador camera base layer. But it is interesting to see new brands and their production on your channel. Btw, do you know Italian brand Angelo Pelle?
Thanks for your thoughts. I’ll let you know how the Oberwerth is, but so far so good. It’s not heavy at all, and all Oberwerth bags come with a lifetime warranty, which I forgot to mention. And yes I know Angelo Pelle. I recorded an unboxing video as an Instagram Reel when I was in Italy. I love his cases (I show it in this video on my Leica M7) but I look forward to testing out one of his bags in the near future.

Mate! If you get a chance try do a review on the Oberwerth LHSA Leo S/M Voyager camera bag. That's another beautiful piece of kit but I haven't seen any reviews on that one yet! Keep up the great content 👌

If you don't know what you want, then the XF18-55mm f/2.8-4 R OIS is a good start.

Many.
I myself prefer to stay low key, this combo makes you potential target for thieves.
The designs aren’t flashy, but I guess it depends where you live and where you’re traveling to…

What if you are Vegan and own a Leica you couldn't use these bags.
Billingham have bags that might not have any leather on it, and same with Wotancraft. Although not known for camera bags, Bellroy has some premium bags as well.
I guess someone needs to make bags for Elon Musk and Jeffrey Bezos.

These bags are premium for sure, but not overpriced for what they are. I think as consumers we’ve gotten use to mass-produced products made in developing countries in huge batches, which drives the price down. Oberwerth is a micro brand that makes hand made products in Germany in small batches.
