Hello my poor cat sherbert has been having diarrhea for the past couple of months now . He drinks plenty of water on a daily basis and he still has a healthy appetite , i recently was having some financial hardships so i was basically feeding him whatever i could afford that day and sometimes having to feed him human food like chicken pork,& beef etc.. Now i know that a change in his diet could be the cause im going to just feed him some rice and chicken or pumpkin until his poop gets better thanks for this video i hope it helps him i will post an update on his progress moving forward thanks agian have a great day!!😊

We just adopted a street cat. This was a cat that was dumped and the person who found them couldn’t keep them. His first three days he spend by himself and was slowly introduced to my four older cats through the closed door. Once he came out, there were some skirmishes, but not too bad. His poops when he was alone were firm and normal looking. Once he has been out, his poops are mushy and his little rear is red. He was fixed before we got him and he was on pain meds. I am starting him on dewormer today but am concerned it may make his diarrhea worse. I think his diarrhea is stress related. He will be going to my vet next week.

I have a male 46 months old cat that weighs 4,25kg that has been having diarrhea for maybe more than 4 months
But it’s the kind of diarrhea that comes and goes every now and then
    my cat shows no symptoms
Other than the diarrhea itself, meaning that he’s active, playful and has a normal appetite and his weight hasn’t change.
I live in a region of the world where there is no accurate medical examination for pets such thing is just not available here, but I tried giving him probiotic before, but it just worked for a short time and then the diarrhea was back again. As for changing his food, unfortunately, I have changed his food many times in those last months.
Please help me if you can. I would really appreciate it. I think anything would help at this point.

Great post! Thank you for creating. I have two indoor cats. King Tut & Rae Rae. They both came from the same litter. Tut is a neutered male & Rae a spade female. they turned 2 in may. Monday evening I noticed Tuts third eye really folding over. Couple hours later, Rae’s eyes started to look cross eyed. I picked up on that they both have diarrhea. Tut seemed more sick than Rae. Well, within 24 hours of me noticing his eyes, he randomly Belerd out a loud meow. Tut let me hold him & I rubbed his belly. I then called the vet & they got me in right away.
I left the vet with no real clear answer of what was going on. Or even some educated insight. I brought home pain pills, which I’m unsure of giving to Tut. The vet also sent me home with an antidiaherra tablet, to give to him the next day.
Well it’s only been about 6 hours. I dissolved one of tablets in tuna water for Rae. Tut was munching on dry food, but when he tried to jump off table, he became dizzy. Then he belard out a loud meow again.
He does let me rub his stomach. He starts to purr when I do this. When he’s had enough he walks away.
The vet was very vague. My thought is go to a new vet in a couple days. I’d like to listen to some good advice. Let me know what you think?
    Thank you

I love their names but I'm sorry to hear about their illnesses. Since I don't know much about their lifestyle and environment, I'd be happy to do a consult with you. cats are very sensitive creatures

Both my kitties are very active. They run around the house & play most days. Slowly they both seem to be Getting better. I’ve noticed some long grass on their diarrhea. I also cooked up some white rice & mixed it up with canned chicken. They have eaten this for 2 dinner meals. Diarrhea is still active just & I’m thinking Tut has now developed a hemorid. 🤦‍♀️ ughhhh my babies. 😢💞

Homeopathic remedies work very well. I used Boiron's Arsenicum Album and it fixed my tabby girl's diarrhea in 2 days. I had to give her pellets every 2hrs and it worked really well! Then I only had to give her the pellets once in the Am & once in the Pm. Great stuff!

My kitty was fine until I changed her food and immediately she had diarrhea. She still have appetite and she is positive. She is 7 weeks old. It started last night and today just started. I'm going to add cooked rice and with her regular Pate. I definitely not let her get sicker but she new to our family.

diarrhea is normal during a transition, we just don't want it to last for more than a day or two. rice isn't the best to add, but you could add some canned pumpkin and cooked turkey

What can you tell us about kittens with Cromason problems. I've only have seen 2 kittens in my lifetime. I own one now. She is 3 and a half months old. But looks like a five week old. And she has diarrhea. I do know kittens with Cromason problems don't live past 1 year old.

@ThePetParentingReset hiii !! I'm now feeding them purina veterinary diets essential care
      And giving them fortiflora supplements.
This is what the vet recommended.
After watching ur video I started adding a tiny bit of pumpkin, like 1/4 tsp or so to each meal I think they're getting better with the food + pumpkin

Hi Deb, thanks for watching. I'm sorry to hear about your cat. I'm not familiar with the foods in the UK, but I always recommend species appropriate raw food diets.

My cat has been have this on and off diarrhea for years now. I have taken to vet. They don't see any parasites or worms in stool. She's long hair so I started grooming her to see if this would help but still no change. I tried so many types of diets but they seem to help for a week and than the diarrhea starts up again. My cat eats wet food 2 times a day. She has water fountains which are clean weekly. I never leave her uneaten food out. I'm exhausted trying to help her but nothing seems to work.

You may find help by testing her gut with Animal Biome. It's likely that her gut flora is in dysbiosis

Any updates? I know how hard this can be. It’s hard for those of us whose cats with chronic diarrhea also have litter box refusal. More specifically - 80% of bowel movements are on the floor. For 2 + years.
And some of us are renters, and are not supposed to have pets cause this much mess and germs daily.
She has 100% litter box compliance for urinating though. Several changes of diet, rounds of antibiotics, rounds of probiotics, adding extra litter boxes kept clean, etc. really nothing helps.
The next step would be an ultrasound which the estimated cost is about $1200 - And it’s only available on one or two days per month with a specialist comes into my area, and I can’t take extra time off work right now (maybe in a couple of months)….
Adding organic pure pumpkin helped significantly with the vomiting, but didn’t really make any improvement in the diarrhea. Still though - she loves it, it does help with the vomiting tremendously, and she eats it eagerly - So she still gets a small amount of it every day, in addition to the hills science diet digestive food that my veterinarian recommended three months ago and that she eats daily.
      Thanks for listening!
Hope to avoid euthanasia - unless ultrasound comes back with a very ominous indications, then unfortunately I will need to consider it.

The only thing that helped in my case is Royal Canin Gastrointestinal dry food introduced gradually. But every change like stolen food would cause an outbreak :|

Hi! New subscriber here! I have a few cats and recently noticed that a few of my cats have diarrhea. I think Wellness changed their formula, not sure? I feed mostly wet food and a little dry at night time. I also give Weruva and Tiki. No more Friskies & Fancy feast. I know better now.
Hoping it just stops. I will eliminate Wellness and see if its better. Its not the dry food, bc I ran out and they still had diarrhea. I want to not offer dry food bc its not good for them, but need it in case I go out for longer period of time.
I will try the ground turkey & pumpkin. How much pumpkin to give? I have some from Weruva still. Is chicken ok? Why does it have to be ground for easier digestion? How to grind up, with food processor? Pls advise. My cats are between 3y to 9.5yr old
    Thank you.

These big brands do that, change the formula without warning or notice, for many reasons. Sometimes it's because a substitute is cheaper, sometimes they aren't able to source something. Some brands even claim X is in the food, when X, Y, and Z are in the food, with no mention of Y and Z. It's a mess out there! I'm so sorry to hear about your cats tummy troubles.

HI again. Learn time I wrote in to you my cats diarrhea happened to went away, but unfortunately it's back again! Would white or brown rice also be doable or just stick with pre-ground turkey or boil turkey breast or tenderloins/thighs and add pumpkin. How much pumpkin is good to use? I bought some from Weruva.
I feed Weruva wet food for my cats lunchtime, some freeze dried Raw and also dry food. Recently, I went from grain free dry cat food to grains bc the store that was near to me only carried the grains. So, this switch might be the culprit!
I am looking to use Raw food, but kind of scares me alittle. Two, maybe now three of my cats I suspect IBD. Have to see my vet very soon, because I can't treat on my own. I did buy Proviable prebiotic capsules the other day. Maybe this too would help with the recent bout of diarrhea? It might help my suspected IBD kitties as well.
I will try the turkey/rice or pumpkin first for the diarrhea issues.
Pls reply since it helps reduce my worry about my little cats.
      Thank you again.
      God Bless
      Debbie O.

@ThePetParentingReset Hello again. Just wanted to know how much pumpkin to use exactly? Also would white or brown rice also work?
Last time the diarrhea went away on its own, but unfortunately it's back again. Most likely due to a change in dry food, possibly wet food, but more likely a change in dry food.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate you taking the time to read and respond to my questions.
      God Bless you.

@@debbieshomes6984I think she mentioned the ratio of pumpkin to turkey in the video. How is your cat now? I changed my cat’s wet food because I thought he might like variety- I’m paying for that decision now with his runny butt! 😩
