- I couldn't find any tutorial about this so this is how I replaced the headband pad for my Sennheiser HD700. (To be even safer, I should have removed the phones) I am glad I didn't break it though.
There are serious chances you end up scratching/chipping the finis or even hurting yourself, so please do this carefully, and at your own risk.
I hope it helps, though.
This just walked me through how to do this - thank you so much.
Only tidbit I wish I knew was a closeup of the two channels inside the headband. The lower channel is for the adjustment arms, the upper channel is for the headband pad itself. This confused me for 5-10 minutes before I figured it out. Need to be mindful to insert it back in the right channel(s).
Still - thank you! this is great.
Perfect - exactly what I needed to know! Thanks so much for taking the time to record and upload this 🙏👍
Great! Been looking for a video on how to do this for a while, as I was a bit afraid for damaging some parts trying to replace my headband on the HD700, this video shows that it's not that hard after all, thanks!
Thanks for the great video, really helped me avoid a possible disaster. 😀👍
Just did this with a HD600 headband on a HD700, thanks a lot
Thank you so much! Was afraid to try this because people said it was really difficult.
Thanks for your video. I gave my HD 700 a second life.
Oh, Thank you!!! I success replace the headband. Have a nice day!
Thank you very much, very easy replacement.
This was immensely helpful. Thanks!
1:30 i cannot get the new headband over the raised area in the center. At this point I'm just damaging the new foam.
Thank you.
It seems that they do not have to pay high repair costs.
i was looking for spares for hd700, the link that holds the cups to the headband is broken, can you help me out to find a part.. thanks
It may not be super easy as this model is not manufactured anymore. Did You try Ebay for parts or a junk/broken model ?
@@vintagerider4301 yes i did search it everywhere, Also did try to search for a broken or non functional 700 but with no luck.

Thank you!!! I really need a replacement cushion now tho...
scarabeo500gt I just bought mine from Audio Sanctuary.
Thanks for the video. Can I use the HD650 headband for HD700? Since it's very difficult to find genuine HD700 parts now that it is discutinued.
Sorry, I can't tell as I never tried...
Hello, I tried the action 0: 20 ~ 0: 26, but even the stick was broken, and the
"paint drop!!!" was not successful I'm afraid of damage to irreversible parts. that so difficult.....
Yes, it's quite difficult. I hope your headphone is OK. It is obvious Sennheiser don't want users to do it themselves...
Great tutorial thanks
Thank you for making this video, it was really helpful. I managed to replace the headband on my HD 700's but I managed to lose the little metal piece for the click adjustments. Do you happen to know where to get any replacements?
Hi ! I'm sorry you lost this tiny piece. I am sorry I don't know if you can find it as a spare, However, I was wondering if you couldn't make it yourself by cutting it out from a metal can, with strong scissors ?
@@vintagerider4301 thanks I’ll give it a shot
im trying to replace it right now because it's falling apart, and I don't want tiny particles to fall all over my head, it sucks that this headphone is discontinues, rn im having a hard time finding replacement part for the headband. .
On Mine, the velvet became sticky and started melting, leaving black tar marks on my head. As I couldn't find a replacement, I used sticky tape and ethanol to scrub and remove the velvet coating from the headband, just leaving the under fabric, and I'm now using it as is for 2 years now.
Vintage Rider yeah, i just bought some replacement from amazon, hopefully it would work.
Exact same result here... Even though the headphones were left untouched (and almost brand new) in their original box for years!
Thank you! I success replace the headband pad
Hi, did you get an official headband replacement or did you buy a third party replacement? I am trying to avoid paying $100 for a headband...
Hello, in fact, the problem I had with my headband was the velvet melting and becoming sticky. I called Sennheiser Japan for a replacement and was told (August 2019) That "the Headband and headpad were discontinued, and only remains the existing supplies, overseas" (maybe in Germany). So as for my issue, I tried to remove the sticky melted velvet as much as possible using Gorilla tape, alcohol and was able to mostly get rid of it. (It's the pad I used in this video - You can see it doesn't have the velvet finish anymore) I will keep on using it as long as possible, but as some point I will probably look for a replacement on Aliexpress... $100 seems very expensive...
@@vintagerider4301 They sent me the price for the full headband. The padding costs $10, but they may not have any in stock.
@@vintagerider4301 BTW how did you attach the foam underneath the velvet to the silicone strip?
@@noviriustomeisho6630 Actually, I only removed ("shaved") the velvet coating off the fabric, so I didn't have to separate it from the strip.
@@noviriustomeisho6630 May I ask where're you guys getting the headband from?
Thank you!
Cool... That's pretty helpful. Thx a lot!
Thank You!! :3
These plastic clips are so dump, on the hd 650 its the same, instead of remove one screws you need to nearly break your 500-1000€ headphones, ridicolous
Yes, this design is definitely not user-friendly. And even though You you end up removing the headband without damage, they are no more available in some countries...
Right!I almost break mine today .
Thank you!
