I have met few who came from Delhi-NCR to pune-mumbai and its very difficult to explain them anything.
First they come with the weight of Delhi in their head and compare everything road, car, people, construction work progress with Delhi. They forget Delhi is the capital of India and Pune is not. Secondly, even if they live in Delhi or 100 kms (or even from Hisar or Merut) far from Delhi, they all say they are from Delhi.
Thirdly, they are super confident experts - become area expert on 4th day of arrival in Pune and start passing Judgements.
Fourth, they just don't have a habit of listening.
Fifth, they already have planned return to Delhi before arrival and I have met few who are still planning after 5 years of stay in Pune.
Sixth, they also have plans to take the Pune-Mumbai-Banglore based company to Noida-Gurgaon
Seventh, they think they are fast and rest all is slow

Now I stay in a flat in Mumbai but yes, I dream of being able to afford a cozy cottage this side, have my own garden, backyard etc. However, many of my relatives are now swapping their big houses for flats because they are getting on in age. Having an independent house means far more maintenance and a little less security. Both flats and big houses have their pros and cons. For the latter, it's best when one has the time and energy to look after it.
