    I was diagnosed with PD with no improvement with levodopa. You have inspired me to make another appointment with the neurologist. Thank you.

      Well it’s not a live video, but you’re welcome! It will be a premiere, which means I will be able to watch it show for the first time and there is a live chat.

      Glad to know my description was accurate. Something I actually forgot to mention altogether was the “purple glove” test. I’ll have to do a follow up episode on that

    Great overview on Atypical Parkinson's! I found it very informative and to the point. I have regular PD and was diagnosed five years ago. Thankfully, I'm still having good control with meds and exercise. I am subscribed and thank you for all of your efforts on educating about this disease. I'm curious, however, you alluded to one of your "patients" so would you be willing to address your qualifications or if you're a physician of some type? Perhaps I've overlooked the information.

      Thank you Mary, I’m glad you felt this was valuable. I don’t mind at all, I’m a Doctor of Physical Therapy and I’ve been in clinical practice for almost 13 years.

      It’s hard to say for sure, especially early on. Has your spouse’s neuro suggested any further testing?

    One of my relatives have this. Curious - is visual snow one of the symptoms associated with PD?

    • @parkinsonsdiseaseeducation
      @parkinsonsdiseaseeducation  Месяц назад +1

      That’s a great question. I am not 100% certain, but I’ve never heard of this being associated with PD

      I have visual snow also and curious about the answer especially since you say visual hallucinations can be associated with LBD.

    • @parkinsonsdiseaseeducation
      @parkinsonsdiseaseeducation  9 дней назад

      The answer is visual snow is not likely linked to Parkinson’s

      Thanks for sharing. Once you knew it wasn’t Parkinson’s, how did that shift things in your approach to dealing with things.

    In early stages parkinson tremor in fingers start with resting tremor or action tremor

    • @parkinsonsdiseaseeducation
      @parkinsonsdiseaseeducation  Месяц назад

      Resting tremor. Action tremor would likely indicate a different pathology in the brain. For example, cerebellar ataxia.

    Anxiety tremors effect all fingers like parkinson tremors

    • @parkinsonsdiseaseeducation
      @parkinsonsdiseaseeducation  Месяц назад

      I’m not sure where you’re going with that, but I think you’re saying that anxiety may trigger tremors in a PwP, which is true. And I think you’re also saying that anxiety induced tremors may appear similar to PD tremors. That’s also true. Tremors are a tricky way to look at these diagnoses as tremors are NOT unique to Parkinson’s. Also, up to 30% of individuals with PD DO NOT have tremors.
