I’m defo going to start this now! I’m gonna have them live in a wagon (like what they came over to Oregon from) and build their house from the ground up. That way I’ll break some rules about female involvance and clothes to suit my desire for stronger women as they still also had to defend their land and work on it too, while still playing the challenge 😄 EDIT: Another thing for anyone who wants to attempt this challenge but isn't happy with the rules is change them slightly. Eg. instead of having women in dresses down to the ankles in the early days, change it to they can't wear a certain colour eg. blue. Have that as the indecent value if you can't/ don't use cc to match the style of the time! If you get bored of the restrictions for women, explore some things women could still secretly do. Maybe your woman has a secret lover, alcohol addition she is hiding in the pantry or even some larger storylines. When writing comes in maybe your male sim is posing as the author of the family but in fact it is his wife.
@@fortheluvofsims a good tool to use is a magic 8 ball too 😃 ask questions about if your sim would do that, shake it and you get a random answer. That’s how I stay involved and force myself to get out of my comfort zones 😁 As for the race thing i'm also not going to follow it, possibly have my sim socially isolated even from their family during the times of Civil Rights, but for before that maybe just because they are poor and (for my storyline) living on the plains it isn't really a thing that matters much as they are socially isolated. Since my two sims are arriving further into the west to a small isolated settlement style area my female (Juno) is going to need to get involved in the small town politics if she wants her husband Charlie's trading business to succeed. Maybe she will sleep with the General, or maybe just make friends with his wife so they can get better deals on his crops. Who knows yet? Things will get more interesting when the tavern finishes being constructed. Money gets tight with all of the weather preventing crop growth, who says what they will turn to so they can survive
@@fortheluvofsims Definitely! Challenges like this leave so much room to mix things up and add on, it’s more of a base layer to build up on. With my game I started earlier (1810s) and added other things like miscarriage and disease . That last one has given me crappy luck mind! I’m on the Oregon trail as a pioneer family playing with a bunch of different families in their own wagons and Juno’s entire family got cholera and died 😐 she got forced to marry Charlie early due to this and now a baby is on the way much earlier than I planned but it’s all good fun and mystery

I just started this challenge this weekend. I'm way behind the times LOL! I also am not following the ethnicity rule. I just can't do it! But I'm following everything else. Its fun so far, still in the 1890s! I'm playing on long time span, so it will probably take me awhile, but that just makes it more fun! I started with the couple married, and I also had his mother as an elder with them to help with the kids. Matthew and Sarah Brown. Their oldest just aged up to a kid, his name is Jack. They have a toddler named Jonah and a baby named Dorothy. And she's pregnant with her 4th child! I think this will be their last child, but we will see. Matthew does not have an outside job, he's been gardening and fishing and working at the woodworking table for money.
I'm so glad your having fun with the challenge, I have learned so much and its a new way to discover the game! I have started this challenge got eco living so I thought how could I see the pack more get the decade Sims to dumpster dive for there furniture that was only for the ere that I am playing let's just say before they started they was sleeping on the floor only allowed them to have the towel from island living to nap on now the house got furniture and four kids I've turned aging off because I am loving playing it not ready for next generation love watching this ☺️

i would recomend getting the teen marriage and teen pregnancy mod.you can have more space for the heir and its realistic.or as soon as they become a ya,get them married and pregnant.(ya is 21
