Angels at the disco... I'm for sure... things get situated... the beat steps pasture... The law.... Oh. Oh.. The law oh. Oh. Oh. The law... A freebee..
Heard it live and I still can't believe how amazing those notes ring out. I will say that I hope I see him live again where he might go full acoustic. Changer with a band is amazing, Changer all lone is life alteringly beautiful!
Not loving the short hair. The long hair somehow reinforces the appealing sense of geekiness that emanates from this incredibly talented man. Hair tonic is in the post.;)
Andy Shauf, Leif Vollebekk, Aidan Knight all on one bill back in 2012 at the Rio Theatre in Vancouver, Canada ... the best $20 concert I’ve attended, was there for Aidan Knight and discovered both Andy and Leif. All 3 Canadian musicians making great strides on the global stage. Seeing Andy last year play “Judy” as the encore was a testament to the magic you get from going to live shows and seeing a favourite artist surprise you once again.
Amazing. Andy is so unpretentious despite his outstanding talent as singer and as songwriter. The third song, The Lottery, is so fucking brilliant. As if Nick Drake was playing April Come She Will. And Changer is so good. Keep it up, Andy!
Andy has been a favorite of mine since the beginning. It’s kind of odd to see him with such short hair now. I’m definitely buying Neon Skyline on vinyl
I'm so excited for this album! Saw Andy at El Club in Detroit over the summer and he played Neon Skyline. I was dumbfounded; it was so good and I was instantly filled with anticipation for the new record to hear the mysterious beautiful song he played once again.
Mennonite, low German, called Plauttdietsch. Barely perceptible for most part but comes out in intonation of certain words. Mennonites fled Russia in 1920's. Invited to Russia by Catherine the Great to farm Russian Steppes. She exempted them from military service.
Hey man! Capo 1st fret and it's chord shapes C F Em G - Andy's got it capo'd on the 4th but he's got his Waterloo tuned 1 and a 1/2 steps down. There's a hammer-on from the C to the F shape (4th string, second fret and then 3rd string second fret) and a quicker hammer-on from the G to the C on the 4th string 2nd to 3rd fret (G7). For the Em upward strum, it's ring finger 1st string 2nd fret, then pinky onto the 1st string 3rd fret. Grow your nails out a little and you're cooking - hope this helps!
Fucking Christ!!!! Make me watch a millions ads either before or after the video. But for the love of God don't put a damned ad right in the middle of the song!!!!!! RUclips AI has gone rampant, might be time to put her down..... Amazing performance!!! And a wonderful mix from the Paste crew. Brilliant!!!
Judy Lyrics: Judy and me, every week. Buy a ticket for the Wednesday night lottery. She picks the numbers, I pick it up. Would it feel different if I was holding the winning one? What would you buy? I’d buy a ticket for the Thursday night, And try to win twice. Judy and me, every week. Order doubles until the numbers are released. I want to pick them, one week. But I know that’d the be the week they pick her numbers. What would you buy? I’d buy a ticket for the Thursday night, And try to win twice. Judy and me every time, get our hopes up a little too high. Judy and me squint our eyes to read the numbers and say maybe next time. What would you buy? I’d buy a ticket for the Thursday night. What would you buy? I’d buy a ticket for the Thursday night, And try to win twice.
This is awesome, can´t wait to see Andy live in Cologne in April! If you want to check out some unknown German musician: www.reverbnation.com/ericbridge
Lol it’s super unique and I like it. I’ve only heard the song try again on CBC radio without knowing his name and came across this. As soon as I heard his voice I knew it was the guy from try again song. You might not like it now but I bet it will grow on you. Just like how the greats were all considered weird or different when they first came out
Andy's response when asked a similar question on his Reddit AMA: "I think it was just a gradual thing... it didn't really occur to me that I was singing weirdly. It's a result of holding vowel sounds I think, which was a result of trying to hear myself singing with shitty monitors at shows. I have a quiet voice so I don't really project that well - so holding vowel sounds is the only way I can hear what I'm doing? I dunno, does that make sense? I don't mean to sound so weird..."
This guy is the unsung hero of acoustic songwriters. I’m so grateful for his music.
Something about the tension between confidence and vulnerability is very attractive. Stoked for the record.
I just wanna cuddle him, good lord
the perfect way to describe it haha wow
Canadian national treasure
Jesus Christ, "Changer" is bloody gorgeous.

Andy is so real. So cool.
Jesus. This guys chord voicings are the best.
The first time I saw him, I snuck into his concert at club dada. I didn't know what I was getting into but it's been nothing but love since.
Lucky!! I found the guy by PURE coincidence. Came on NPR and I loved his sound, hooked ever since!
These songs are like a warm hug of nostalgia
Excited for this. The Party is a masterpiece.
Hard facts
Tom Fitzgerald I agree completely! New album is amazing too and I’m enjoying it very much, The Party was magnificent!

Andy Shauf is a new Genre of person
'Changer' stripped down like this is incredible.
Those songs seem to be so cool to play with just a guitar, I am going to spend some time on this album !
I only found about this guy last week and I’m hooked. So so good
neon skyline is such a perfect song
Andy has been a favorite of mine since the beginning. It’s kind of odd to see him with such short hair now. I’m definitely buying Neon Skyline on vinyl
His style of prose keeps me locked in, like reading Kerouac.
His affect is impeccable
“Changer” is so, so beautiful! Andy is just amazing! ❤️
Sweet sweet song.

His voice sounds so different when he sings wow!!! Obsessed w him rn
Nice to hear a solid mix of these songs live. Hyped for the album release
i love andy so much. hope to see him perform again someday.
Andy please write an album in Montreal. #selfish request. New album is a lovely follow up to your previous album.
Andy's voice is a dandelion's pappi dispersing over a garden. Love this green hat boi
disliked so I can like this again. love the acoustic versions of these tracks. really great acoustic tunes
Amazing performance! Andy knows exactly how to put my weary mind in ease

Yeah but less self stabby
Seeing live in Austin on the 14th and I’m so excited
Well, I just had to close my eyes and breathe "Changer" in.
The first song sounded like a soft spoken, heart broken Van Morrison tune.
Andy’s da bomb; Boo yah!
He's so fucking sweet
Not gonna lie, I wish this version of Changer was on the album, I like it better with just the guitar and vocals
Cool Weyerhaeuser hat, Andy. Save the timber industry!
This is awasome
Im gonna see you in Phoenix in February, Andy. I cant fucking wait
Grateful that I could attend that Ace of Cups show before the world went upside down.
Same here man, long time fan and I got to see him in Tennessee before the apocalypse got underway lol. So lucky! :D
YHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!
Am I the only one who thinks he sounds like he's singing with a Russian accent?!

Sask legend
fuck yeah thanks for having andy on that awesome
The Judy and me song should be it's own single I agree. I like this song a lot though
Andy isn't cool... but he's AWESOME !
Nope he's quiet cool, the best kind.
Is that an Audiotree Sessions hat Andy is wearing? Interesting choice if so...
Seems like a nice kid. Like his music. :-)
Judy is to Andy what Lisa is to Jens Lekman.
If anyone can do the chords for Changer I'd be greatful :)

What is this guys accent that he puts hard Rs in words with no Rs? “Neon Skurlurn” hahahaha
Josh Goodman Canadian. But his singing pisses me off so much I can’t get over it. Great music though
I felt the same way haha. Sounds so good his voice just pisses me off lol
Yeah it's that French-Canadian R, sounds like ərh

ok
Why alter your word pronunciation so drastically while singing?
Andy's enunciation is like Sushi; at first, you might not like it, but then it grows on ya.
it's a Saskatchewan thing

Oh Andy I miss your long hair, but short is good too! I just shamed your long hair style
Why does he sing with a russian accent
