I agree with you as well. Reio's motives and desires are truly ambiguous. He foresaw his fate. If he wanted to, he could have prevented being attacked and cut up. But he didn't which implies he either agreed with the plan or didn't care about his own life. Him hating the shinigami isn't really congruent with either mentality. And when you really think about it, there is little reason to believe Yhwach when he says Reio hates shinigami. He never spoke with Reio and Yhwach has his own bias. The pieces of Reio have widely different opinions implying being a piece of Reio doesn't mean you inherit his opinions or perspective. If anything, if you go by the anime, Pernida was abducted by Yhwach and presumably brainwashed by him. Which means, if you go by the anime, it's possible both hands sided with the shingami at one time. All this to say, we don't have much proof Reio actually hated the shinigami.

@simourahara This leads credence to the idea that Yhwach was Adyneus' contingency. He forced his son into the cycle of rebirth into the human world before he himself got mutilated and sealed. The way Yhwach was in that world, even without his memories intact, or him fully comprehending what he'd witnessed, he was given essentially an intrinsic motive to push towards undoing the original sin and recreating the primordial world in the image of the Quincies. Its possible that through the Eight-Mirror Sword, his own power might have been turned against him, which might have affected his own power the Almighty, similar to what the arrow of Stil Silver did to Yhwach.

Part of him knew he had to split the realms and knew it had to be done also the anger of the audacity of who he felt friends. You don't get it at all. The Soul King isn't a god looking down on his creations in disgust. He was a super strong dude with near omniscience and power. He had to be sealed for the world to be. It was hell before the Soul King was diced. There was no life. He knew it had to happen. The world of Bleach without the soul reapers intervention in dicing up the soul king is literally hell. He has no place in judging any one and wouldn't. He's just a battery.

I think it's still too ambiguous. "The SK hates the Shinigami" is just a Quincy cope until more is revealed. There's nothing to say he couldn't see the sealing coming - so far it seems that only other SK parts and things specifically stated to be able to mess with the Almighty can do so.
reio could have folded the 5 noble family by himself, why did he choose to be mutilated by them? what exactly is reio thinking? what did reio see in the far future?
Like this might not be a popular opinion 2:39 but it’s possible the Can’t fear your own world light novel explanation on the past of the soul king could be biased or misinterpreted. (As the main antagonist used records which could have been written by a third party) and an explanation by Ichibe who had been proven to be at least somewhat untrustworthy. I guess we will have to see if the anime will include the ancestors of the noble family as part of Soul king past (as the original manga didn’t but to be fair they didn’t even attempt to go into the past do the soul king in the manga)

i've been thinking about it too, it seems like there were quincies before reio and yhwach, there are also quincies "created" by yhwach, and because yhwach is reio's son, he had abilities to be the "king of all quincies", like a "weaker" version of reio
probably like doctor strange when he sacrificed the stone for the best outcome. He probably saw his ideal future happening by these sequence of events.
The latest episode gave us 3 variations on how the torrent actually came to be. Yhwach is a character driven strongly by his hatred towards the soul reapers. Reio may have held resentment towards the ancestors who carved him up after he already agreed to let himself be sealed . But looking at Mimihagi and the Fullbringers, nothing goes against him not being just neutral.

This is a very interesting theory but I have one question. Why create the three worlds in the first place then?
