They cost too much and upstaged the clothes. That’s why designers themselves decided to phase out the celebrity model concept and only use actresses and later reality tv stars and influencers.

Galliano always gave each and every garment an entire history - character - he gave the clothing LIFE. before the models would appear on the runway seconds before, he would whisper to them only what they were feeling, who they were representing. Kate Moss mentioned he would always give them each a persona to take over.

he created a world for the garments. from the beginning of getting inspired he would think of the perfume the character wore, her relationship with a loved one, mischief, sex, confidence and overall Gallianos creations were made to live.
It's regrettable that he didn't give more attention to ensuring Naomi's first dress was properly proper fitted instead of sending her out there in a high-dollar wardrobe malfunction. Naomi's a pro, but I seriously doubt she was pleased to have to continually adjust the straps and shift her walk so the bodice would ride back up.
