instead of the endless whining about the game this is the stuff the game is made of, creating suit and weapon formulations for desired performance, i have a maverick suit set up for looting and weapons to match, its quite unstoppable. loving it.

crouching around with a sniper rifle is not stealth--it's boring and repetitive.
the covert missions are not worth playing and the full frontal combat is ridiculously easy. you're "unstoppable" because the AI is terrible. and you know it is. the reason stealth sucks and combat is easy is the same.
it's like fdev didn't even playtest their own dlc. it's flashy alright, but there's no substance whatsoever to it.

There is actually an easy way to track down smuggler hideouts that have nobody around. Go to a terminal at a station's concourse, open the mission board, select the procurement tab, and look for missions labeled Larceny: Seize the from a hidden cache. These missions will point you right at the POI in question. They're always the 3 shipping containers + destroyed SRV version of the POI, and they're always devoid of enemies. The missions also remove the need to use a DSS as the POI will automatically pop up in the navigation panel as soon as you get close enough to the target planet.

smugglers at POIs are easy if you have a ship with a strong enough shield. Then you can literally just crush them with the nose of your ship at a low speed while taking very little shield damage (and even if your shields get low, you can fall back beyond their range (which isn't very long for a ship) and let your shield recharge).

The one thing I would say is with regard to backpack capacity.
Once you have got through the grind, & unlocked most of what you wish.
The backpack capacity mod may become less useful?
Obviously it would be very useful to someone starting the grind.
However, maybe it should be put upon a suit that may not be your final build?

@@BoardGameClub in these videos I'm using the maverick and where I'm doing any sort of combat I'm using an Executioner. The basic guide videos for stealth don't assume that you need any advanced engineering at all, just a maverick suit will do (ideal for the arc cutter).
My personal stealth setup is usually:
Maverick with extra backpack, sprint duration, night vision and silent footsteps.
Executioner with faster handling, showed reloading, audio masking and noise reduction.
I do prefer the tormentor, which isn't modified yet (was planning on charting my upgrade path for it in videos)

@@StealthBoyElite I hope you make more videos! Do you think it makes sense to have two Mavericks - one for stealth and one for scavenging? On stealth specific missions I'm wondering if the extra backpack mod is necessary since you probably only have one goal and if you're looting you're probably just taking the best stuff and leaving the rest. If you're specifically going on a scavenging run maybe a full stealth suit isn't necessary

    • @StealthBoyElite
      @StealthBoyElite  2 года назад +1

Push is definitely common. I didn't think I said otherwise in the video, the term I used is "it can be found in quite a few locations" :) In fact I did say you can get them from three different places (not an exhaustive list), including Irregular markers. Although IMs are not the easiest way to get them, definitely not for beginners, as they can frequently require combat with up to 6-12 scavengers. I do mention this in the guide.
Push is definitely one of the simplest unlock requirements in EDO. My recommendation is to get them from large maglocked lockers in Habitat buildings, because they're ultra common there and usually aren't guarded very heavily at all. But everyone has their own favourite locations and IMs are definitely a fast way to get them!

Most efficient method (albeit quite dull) is to get a mission for retrieving an item from a crash site. When you arrive at the site, there should be a panel you have to cut open to get the item but you ignore that and go to the data port. These frequently have MIs. Take them and relog (to menu and back is fine). Because it's a mission POI, everything resets (I can confirm this as of this week, I did it).
As I said... it's dull. But you can get 30+ in an hour this way. Just remember to park your SRV/Ship nearby to drop them off (you can't carry lots in your suit). You may sometimes have to fight a scav, but I didn't see them at all at threat 1 POIs.

All you need is one of the opinion poll or whatever material is. Oh and you will need to have access to a Fleet Carrier with bartender (yours or friends). You just need to continuously sell to FC than moving the material to your inventory or sell to FC than create a buy order and buy&sell again until completed. (You can access to the FC management from holding Q)
After selling repeatedly (count it lol) just relog to get the invitation.

This was planned as my next video but life reasons forced me to break for some time.
But I've got a tip for you anyway! All data required for engineer upgrades (so the ones you're after) can be obtained via mission rewards. You may need to be patient for rng to present the missions with the rewards you want and sometimes certain rewards seem more common in different systems.
      Second free tip!
When browsing missions, change the "sort" option to list by materials. This then makes it easy to find missions based on the materials you get (including data).

It turned out to be 'N'.
What I'm finding with the grind is that there are three pinch points. One is materials, then having the right engineer unlocked, but possibly the most frustrating is a lack of suit slots. I got reduced tool battery consumption without much effort, but one of my Mav suits already had extra battery life and ammo capacity, so I had to put RTBC on the one with night vision. Then I fretted that I hadn't waited to put it on the first one, to complement the battery life mod, after an upgrade.
But given a suit upgrade is a major grind with those suit schematics, I'm glad I didn't (I'm not running out of power during restoration missions *just* before I get to the power plant), and I might even look for another Mav suit with free slots and put my now available backpack capacity mod on that, just changing at the SRV as required. A G5 Mav suit is the dream, but a nightmare to achieve.
That said, I might be on the edge of materials starting to roll in, as murder/looting is getting easier with the noise suppressor from Hero Ferrari on my Executioner. Just don't get scanned after you leave a building. Guards don't alerted to the shot, but they see you have a magic bounty on your head...

Yes and due to popular demand I'm planning a video to go through this and other materials soon. SDPs are a pain and their rarity is something a lot of us have feed back to fdev. 15 is just way too many.
They can be found in two ways, faster and very grindy or normally and extremely slowly.
Fast is via irregular markers with a threat level and a crashed skimmer, which has a data port. You literally have to relog dozens of times to get the 15 required but it's relatively quick (still hours).
Slow is via security data ports, which are found in SEC rooms, in command buildings. But they're rare so that process is long winded.
There's a technical third option and that's having another commander drop spares for you.

As of update 6, it’s no longer possible to reset data ports by the method you describe at 17:06. Between steps 3 and 4, you also have to quit to desktop. The data ports will be empty otherwise. In my experience, that’s the case anyway.

This is correct. I believe you need to leave a 30km range (or maybe even just enter orbit) for them to reset. I personally don't even bother resetting, I just visit a second settlement on the same planet (if you can find a planet with two suitable types). This is fast and way less grindy too.

Good video, but some of the opinions here are quite naïve...
I unlocked and used 24 of 25 engineers for ship modules/weapons
plus guardians and power play modules & weapons
engineered a bunch of ships for exploration, combat, racing and pizza...
do not forget the grind for rank for the Cutter, and Corvette
nearly all engineering is broken! there are many video here on U-Tube about this
I doubt that ED players who have done the same I did want more of it!
for player who love ED but dont want any more grind whining is justified.
Fdev could have introduced better quality game play rather than more grind.

You unlocked Oden. so you know.
Quick question: The meeting requirement is worded strangely.
Is it a total of 20. or a total of 60 items you need to sell to bartenders?

20 total. I sold just 20 genetic research and it worked.

Really don't need a full playlist, going over the same thing again and again, you need new content...
2hrs+ of content, and anyone can tell you what to do in one sentence..
Use MAV Suit, Clone a R2/R3 security pass, locate Settlement Alarms using a console, disable alarm.
Now murder everything, loot everything, leave.
Over 40 missions completed, not a single one failed without any of the recommendations,
If you're hanging on every word to complete these missions then you're in a special category of player that should stick to horizons.

You don't need these videos, and nor do I, but I do find them entertaining.
As for your comment about those players who do need these videos, well...
There are plenty of beginners at stealth, and even those who aren't beginners will find Odyssey's stealth difficult as there are none of the hints you have in most modern stealth games. These videos are good for getting those players over their hurdles such that they can begin to enjoy the game.
Playing Elite is not about being an elitist snob.

@@syirogane I admit I may have been a little Elitist, I guess not everyone has the ability to figure simple game mechanics for themselves.
2 hours of video content that can be summed in in 1 video that only needs to be 2 mins long at most.
Clinging onto a niche' area of the game and thinking, "Oh I'll create another video of exactly the same thing I've done in my previous videos..." lends to thinking that the creator is desperately seeking some form of recognition for something that 2 sentences on the forums have explained the process of stealth over and over.
