I think if you're going to get A-list actors like Christian bale to play in your film and cater to what they signed up for it's bad enough that comic book movies/shows aren't taken seriously but to further the stigma on why by making a film a complete joke after joke then it's a no wonder they are not taken seriously.
I think the whole "making it family friendly" thing is backfiring on them. Of course, they don't need to make it hard R but they need some darker and more serious elements.
I think Gorr was amazing, we deserved more tho, Bale rendered a magnificent character, the way he was introduced was on point, but then there was a Blip and I feel that years passed by before we could see him again, and everything just came to an ending really fast. Before we could even grow a fear for him watching him rage and go crazy on the other Gods.
I enjoyed it, not as much as Ragnarok but still fun. My main gripe was there wasn’t enough of Gorr. I feel Ragnarok have Hela a lot of screen time but Gorr mostly just waited for Thor to come to him for most of the film.

Also, I think they either changed up the accent or did something else with Korg's voice. I remember it being quite different in his prior appearances.
@@elbaecc I actually really dislike the scale. Like, literally there was only 5 main characters (Thor, Jane, Valkyrie, Korg and Gorr) and the other side characters didn't appear enough for me to really care. It seemed so small compared to the other MCU films imo

Some of things I noticed in the trailer that were not in the film: Peter Quill doesn't say "Not me..." with an attitude as Thor gazes over Quills eyes. The overhead shot that we saw of Thor, Mighty Thor, Valkyrie, and Korg arriving in Omnipotence City/Mount Olympus is in the trailer, but in the film it cuts to them walking on the sidewalk towards the great hall to see Zeus greeting the other gods. Valkyrie saying "This is the best day of my life...", licking her knife didn't make the final cut of the film but shown in the trailers.

I wouldn't mind seeing an alternate R-Rated cut of this movie, with all the gory Gor stuff added in, more Jane and more Valkyrie, and maybe even an unabashed admission that Valkyrie is a lesbian with some scenes of her private life, where she confesses her frustrations to her "queen".
I’d love to see an over 3 hour directors cut movie. I may like the film more as time goes on but I was shocked on how goofy the film was. Way too many jokes and silly moments. Possibly another hour and a half of more scary and serious moments would have made those silly moments more of a relief and land better.
Yeah, I think a lot of people would like that, but Marvel hasn't yet done an extended version for anything in the MCU (Spider-Man No Way Home being an exception but that's Sony)
+KA M I mean, there's deleted footage from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, particularly 40 minutes. However, when the movie hit Disney Plus, it was the same theatrical cut. So, I doubt that we'll see the extended cut of Love and Thunder on Disney Plus when that movie hits.

This movie wasn't as expected since MCU is containing all the Marvel characters as family friendly so far in their movies. Phase 4 felt like kinda below the par. Their Disney+ shows are much better than the movies except for NWH and Shang Chi.

I took advantage of the National Cinema Day yesterday in the us and watched this 2wice! Your reveals go a long way to filling out the movie which, despite it's run time, felt rushed to me. I did enjoy quite Alot though. The deleted scenes can be its own movie! Great job! 👏🏾🔥👏🏾🔥👏🏾🔥🖤

Christian Bale is a really good actor, Gorr is the most believable and captivating in that movie. Other characters like the guardians of the galaxy, seems like they are tired of filming too much MCU in the opening scenes.
Agree completely with Janes Transformation. I had seen the footage of filming that scene before the movie came out (You Tube?) so I was sure that would be in the film. I was bummed frankly. I would love to see the Waititi cut. And yes to more Valkry Al lot more
I liked the movie, but it could have been SOOOOOO much more...especially with all the buildup. It didn't need to be Deadpool R, but it should have been darker and more substantial to complement the light heartedness and comedy. AND it was too short.

just watched it this afternoon. Oh my, it was fantastic. This film is the exact reason why I have an AMC A-List account. I could see it several more times. Note: LOVED the goats! The "screaming goat" has been our family's favorite meme for years. When I saw it on the screen I fell out laughing.
If they filmed 4 hours and we paid for it, whether its by cinema, vod, or physical media, why not give us the whole 4 hour thing on blu ray? Seriously. All of that budget. All of that hard work and then.... hey let's throw 2 hours of screen time in the trash 🗑

I liked it a lot. A lot of good material about masculinity and fatherhood, how the living cope with loss and death, how we express or rein in emotion… Some similar politics to Ragnarok (about corrupt rulers etc) but a lot of more personal stuff that I connected with. TW parodies superhero films to make his points. In making a film which also tries to work as a superhero action flick he walks a tightrope. This time, for me, more successfully than Ragnarok.
While my opinion of Taika Waititi is not high, I find myself wondering if part of the inexplicable editing decisions were because of the VFX worker shortage. Not all the CGI scenes had been completed before crunch time, resulting in him having to go with the scenes that completed, even if that meant leaving out important plot and character scenes while padding the film with unnecessary and even irritating scenes. I mean, 'Our Flag Means Death' does show that Taika Waititi is capable of creating good content sometimes. Or maybe it reflects that fact that Waititi really doesn't respect "comic book movies" and thinks they should all be silly and buffoonish. Who knows?
I liked it but I do think that they need to push the envelope a bit. Yes family friend I understand but I think they could get away with a little more “scary” type scenes
I know the comics are just a submission but they could do the movie much better. Gorr needed at least 20min more screen time at least for the origin story. Like Dr. Strange it feels like we have to introduce new young characters no matter what. The last two movies and the ms marvel series arent as good as many other movies and series. I hope they get back on track and get some deep into the stories and characters not only filling the way to a new avengers movie to milk the cow...
As much as I THORoughly enjoyed Love and Thunder as is, my 2 biggest problems with the movie is how detrimentally humorous it was (though I did laugh at things I found funny) and how madly short it was, being under 2 hours. Like Multiverse of Madness, I wish the movie had 10-12 minutes more footage that expanded on things that desperately needed explaining. Other than those specific things, I still enjoyed the movie, and I will continue to support it regardless of what haters say. #GoSupportLoveAndThunder
If Marvel is listening and see in the comments, fans want MORE Gorr the God Butcher!!!!!! He was the stand out character of the movie! Please put those deleted scenes in the Director's cut/home release of the film!
Even with all the deleted scenes restored, it still won't salvage the movie. The entire movie was just badly done. Just some of the problems with the movie:- Thor - So, after losing his entire family, lobbed off the head of Thanos and having the chance to meet his mother again in Endgame, he turned into a hippie clown? How is this even possible??? Guardians of The Galaxy - Not sure why they are even in the movie, they contributed nothing to the story development which is such a big waste. They helped to save Nova Corps, defeated Ronin and defeated a Celestial. They are very important characters in MCU but were shown as completely useless against a small group of villains. I mean, seriously? Russell Crowe - He is supposed to be the god of the gods but his character just makes no sense. It seems he is just being put there to cause problems without any valid explanation. Gorr's redemption scene - By the time this scene is shown, it's too late to be serious because there were too many bad jokes before that. I can go on and on about the problems. In other MCU movies, each scene tells an important message that helps to explain the ending but not Thor 4. The entire movie just feels incoherent as if each scene has no relevance to one another. The magic is just not there in Thor 4. The damage is irreversible.
Disney should keep Marvel's content separated from Disney's content. They need to make Marvel MCU movies with fewer restrictions. Especially with the expanded universe make that they bought FOX media content.
I really expected a better movie. Too much Korg and too little Gorr. So many jokes weren’t funny. Thor was not serious enough. I still loved it because I love Hemsworth as Thor.
Christian Bale was the best part of the movie, it did feel hella rushed and everything marvel has put out after infinity has been average, looking forward to seeing the rock play a superhero in DC’s Black Adam maybe this will be the be the come up for then 🤷♂️
Too family friendly. I understand the necessity of the character to evolve and not necessarily disagree with a more silly Thor persona. However, being a big fan of Thor, Ragnarok had the right balance of seriousness and silliness for the character, Love and Thunder did not. Also, don't think that screen time balance for the characters was the best either. Out of all the Thor movies so far this one is entertaining still, but the least I like form the franchise.
The film was definitely so-so, and it's bizarre to pay for 3 expensive actors and then cut them out entirely. Seems like the story wasn't planned well.

Forcing MCU movies to be allways PG-13 is the worst idea that MCU creators had. And the goats screaming is just stupid. BTW. the original screaming sound (that we know from a meme video) was made by a sheep not goat. And the goats sounds really really different than this. And many other problems that this movie had... Thor 4 was just the worst MCU movie since.

Best Thor movies so far, still family friendly but I really enjoyed the movie. All cut scenes are the best.

Grandmaster is basically a god. He’s one of the Elders of the Universe who’re basically gods.
I didn't walk out of the theater saying wow that was awesome, I'm not sure how I feel about it, I did love the goats though.

While my opinion of Taika Waititi is not high, I find myself wondering if part of the inexplicable editing decisions were because of the VFX worker shortage. Not all the CGI scenes had been completed before crunch time, resulting in him having to go with the scenes that completed, even if that meant leaving out important plot and character scenes while padding the film with unnecessary and even irritating scenes. I mean, 'Our Flag Means Death' does show that Taika Waititi is capable of creating good content sometimes.
Or maybe it reflects that fact that Waititi really doesn't respect "comic book movies" and thinks they should all be silly and buffoonish. Who knows?
I liked it but I do think that they need to push the envelope a bit. Yes family friend I understand but I think they could get away with a little more “scary” type scenes
So Bale listens to Aphex Twin, that shouldent surprise me but it did.
I think the final cut was good for family viewing.
Gorr was a disappointment. Did not live up to the comic book Gorr. By comparison, Thanos did live up to the comic book.
I wished for more Valkyrie.
Marvel villains must be in screen no more than 9 minutes total.
Maybe cut the goat scenes. A bit of jokes here and there and put the important parts like gorr, jane and valkyrie
I know the comics are just a submission but they could do the movie much better. Gorr needed at least 20min more screen time at least for the origin story. Like Dr. Strange it feels like we have to introduce new young characters no matter what. The last two movies and the ms marvel series arent as good as many other movies and series. I hope they get back on track and get some deep into the stories and characters not only filling the way to a new avengers movie to milk the cow...

As much as I THORoughly enjoyed Love and Thunder as is, my 2 biggest problems with the movie is how detrimentally humorous it was (though I did laugh at things I found funny) and how madly short it was, being under 2 hours.
Like Multiverse of Madness, I wish the movie had 10-12 minutes more footage that expanded on things that desperately needed explaining.
Other than those specific things, I still enjoyed the movie, and I will continue to support it regardless of what haters say.

If Marvel is listening and see in the comments, fans want MORE Gorr the God Butcher!!!!!! He was the stand out character of the movie! Please put those deleted scenes in the Director's cut/home release of the film!

I laughed 3 times in the “maybe” first ten minutes. Then I was 😐…bored.
Even with all the deleted scenes restored, it still won't salvage the movie. The entire movie was just badly done.
Just some of the problems with the movie:-
Thor - So, after losing his entire family, lobbed off the head of Thanos and having the chance to meet his mother again in Endgame, he turned into a hippie clown? How is this even possible???
Guardians of The Galaxy - Not sure why they are even in the movie, they contributed nothing to the story development which is such a big waste. They helped to save Nova Corps, defeated Ronin and defeated a Celestial. They are very important characters in MCU but were shown as completely useless against a small group of villains. I mean, seriously?
Russell Crowe - He is supposed to be the god of the gods but his character just makes no sense. It seems he is just being put there to cause problems without any valid explanation.
Gorr's redemption scene - By the time this scene is shown, it's too late to be serious because there were too many bad jokes before that.
I can go on and on about the problems. In other MCU movies, each scene tells an important message that helps to explain the ending but not Thor 4. The entire movie just feels incoherent as if each scene has no relevance to one another. The magic is just not there in Thor 4. The damage is irreversible.
The last good Super Hero movie was Dr Strange 2...it was OK but the last actual good one was Spider-Man No Way Home!
Disney should keep Marvel's content separated from Disney's content. They need to make Marvel MCU movies with fewer restrictions. Especially with the expanded universe make that they bought FOX media content.
I really expected a better movie. Too much Korg and too little Gorr. So many jokes weren’t funny. Thor was not serious enough. I still loved it because I love Hemsworth as Thor.
Christian Bale was the best part of the movie, it did feel hella rushed and everything marvel has put out after infinity has been average, looking forward to seeing the rock play a superhero in DC’s Black Adam maybe this will be the be the come up for then 🤷♂️
Too family friendly. I understand the necessity of the character to evolve and not necessarily disagree with a more silly Thor persona. However, being a big fan of Thor, Ragnarok had the right balance of seriousness and silliness for the character, Love and Thunder did not. Also, don't think that screen time balance for the characters was the best either. Out of all the Thor movies so far this one is entertaining still, but the least I like form the franchise.

The film was definitely so-so, and it's bizarre to pay for 3 expensive actors and then cut them out entirely. Seems like the story wasn't planned well.

They deleted way tooo much from this film and for that reason I rate this film 4/10. Gorr not having more screen time was almost criminal I honestly feel like this was the worst film outta the Thor franchise 👎🏾 😢
Forcing MCU movies to be allways PG-13 is the worst idea that MCU creators had.
And the goats screaming is just stupid. BTW. the original screaming sound (that we know from a meme video) was made by a sheep not goat. And the goats sounds really really different than this.
And many other problems that this movie had... Thor 4 was just the worst MCU movie since.
