Isn't it!? I just fell in love with this apartment the moment I saw it. And thank you so much for the compliments on my videos, Essi! So exciting to be able to share them with others. Thank you!!
what a super-cute apartment! I have house-envy for sure. I like how there are lots of colourful touches but the apartment still seems very sleek and modern and not too cluttered. Tile floors in the livingroom... huh! :)
Willowkins!!! Yes the tile floors everywhere is so normal in Iran! I have another apartment video tour from Tehran that I hope to post on Saturday, and that one is also all tile. It's so weird because I never think anything of it, but if a house HERE were to have tile floors I'd be all confused...wait, what? It's just not nearly as common, though I have seen it.
Thanks for watching guys! Leave me a comment and let me know if you were surprised by what the apartments in Iran look like! And which part was your favorite?
Oh that's so awesome to hear, Suzanne!! I'm so glad you both enjoyed them! If you haven't already, you may be interested in watching the Tehran Travel Vlogs on my channel - I take you on a tour of the city! :) Thank you for watching!!
Just found your channel and I have to say that your videos are super. I live in Cyprus and our apartments here are having exactly the same layout. As in Iran, here too, and all Middle East / Mediterranean countries the floors are tilled, the reason? Because of the very hot weather and the huge amount of dust/sand that we have on the air. The tilled floors made the home/atmosphere much coller also much easy to keep the home clean 😉 Greetings from Cyprus 💗
Thank you SO MUCH!! I really appreciate the compliments on my videos! That means a lot! Yes that is soooo true about the dust!! I *Hate* dust and that's one thing that unfortunately there is a lot of in Iran :P Still one of my favorite places in the world, though! I hope I can see Cyprus someday, too! I'm sure it's beautiful! Thank you for watching! :)
I love the details on the ceilings along with the chandeliers! Very cool and practical about the tile floors too, carpet is so unhealthy but everywhere in the U.S. I was thinking that bedroom is so small, but then I thought, you usually just use the bedroom to sleep and then spend more time in the kitchen and living room, where you need it more! Thanks for the tour!
Yes - totally agree with you - at first the bedroom seems cramped but then with that open kitchen and living room that's where they spend most of their time anyway. Thanks so much for watching and sharing your thoughts!!
Hi Mahsa!! Thanks so much for watching! I have several other Iran-related videos on my channel, too if you haven't seen those, they might be of interest to you :)
Thank you so much, Sedef! I'll pass the compliments to my cousin. And I actually WILL be making another Tehran vlog very soon! I was there during the month of April and I filmed this apartment tour, another apartment tour (my aunt's place, which I'll be posting soon) and then LOTS of other footage so I could make a 2017 vlog. Those take me a long time to edit though because I have to find the right music, the right clips, put them together in the right way...it's like making a little movie! So I hope to have it done in the next couple of months, but it's on the way! Thanks again for watching and commenting :)
Hi Sedef! I just wanted to let you know that my new Tehran vlog is finally up on my channel if you're still interested in watching :) Took me long enough, but it's finally here! ruclips.net/video/-tkjBZFlYMw/видео.html
Hi Mozhan!!! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!! You are so sweet! I also have a video of my own apartment on my channel, too, if you are interested! Love you! xoxoxo
Very pretty apartment! Can't wait to learn more about the squatting toilet! Also, when was this building made? Were the apartments redesigned at some point as they are so up to date! Also noticed there are no screens on the windows which is cool. In the USA there are almost always screens. Her decor is fab!! My home is very rustic but the other part of my personality always loves bright with pretty colors and a modernesque look like hers. Love all the shelving, candles, and her design aesthetic overall. That little table and those cool chairs are one of my favorite things and of course those sofas!! Love her appliances - did they have to furnish those themselves or do they come with the apartment? Oh and what does an apartment like that cost every month or do they own it? Sorry so many questions but that is only because it was an awesome video and totally kept my interest - you do great work!
OMG! Love your comment!! Thank you for all your interest! I had so many of the same questions! The first thing I wanted to know was "How much does this place cost!?" They are renting and I believe they are paying around $500 a month, similar to what I was paying for my little Lily Pad in KC! That's when you convert to US Dollars though, so for them I believe it feels like more than $500 if that makes sense. The building is a newer building because they live in the Western part of the city which is newly developing. So lots of new condos, buildings, restaurants...everything on that side of the city is new. Didn't think about the screens but that's so true! A lot of the times they don't have them over there, and it's so nice to be able to stick your head out and feel the breeze! I believe the apartment was unfurnished and the appliances are their own but I'll have to double check! Thank you again for watching!
Right yes I get it - to us here in the USA that is dirt cheap but in their dollar value a lot more! Lovely place indeed though - I would totally live there!
This was GREAT, you gained a fan/subscriber in me. I have to ask, as a Jamaican man, would I be welcome in Iran? Would there be any hostile reaction if they saw a black Jamaican like myself in Tehran? Thanks, I’m subscribing to your channel
Thanks so much for the sub, John! I really can't speak to what your experiences as a black person would be like in Iran - but I saw this movie trailer several years ago about a black man from the Virgin Islands who played for an Iranian basketball team and someone made a documentary about it! Here's a link to the trailer: ruclips.net/video/ISjeBPwXVzo/видео.html Maybe you can find the full movie and give it a watch :)
Thanks The Nilofer . Such a nice video about iran and tehran and such a nice house and really like ur interest in small step in real estate. Can u plz mention the price of the apartment with decorations and without. Any way u and ur interest is touching
Hi Amar! Thanks so much for watching my videos! And the nice comments! I actually don't know much about real estate! I made the video just to give people who are interested in interior design some decorating ideas and to show an example of what an apartment in Tehran looks like :)
The "heech" statuette is actually from a famous collection by Parviz Tanavoli and I don't believe is a direct reference to Roumi's famous poem "Donya hameh heech o ahl-e donya hameh heech, ey heech baraye heech bar heech mapeech". From a Guardian article on how the heeches came about: "In 1971, the then queen of Iran commissioned Parviz Tanavoli, a young artist in his 30s, to make one of his signature bronze sculptures for the palace of the shah. The tall, majestic bronze statuette depicts the word heech, which means “nothing” in Persian. Its message in relation to the shah’s grandiose rule was ambiguous, to say the least." www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jan/01/parviz-tanavoli-iranian-artist-made-something-nothing
Hi Mohsen! Haha, another commenter below, "Behzad Nezami" actually shared the same article! So interesting and I'm glad to have some accurate information on the history of these "heech"es. Also, thanks for sharing the exact Rumi poem my cousin was referencing! I didn't know the exact line, only that there is a Rumi poem that uses the word "heech" a lot in it. :)
Ha! Funny how we both shared the same link :). I was lucky to be in one of his exhibitions in 2015. Here's a pic I took photos.app.goo.gl/RasgFBG4uDtjdc4z1 Btw I might be an outlier in my generation, but I like the feel of your aunt's apartment much better than your cousin's ;).
Wow it's so big! So cool you got to attend an exhibition. And it's so interesting to hear different people's opinions on interior design. Your preference for my aunt's apartment makes me think your tastes lean toward the traditional. I love them both even though they are so different and that's why I wanted to feature them both on my channel. :)
wow what a nice place. but american toilet???? did the native americans really had a toilet like this?? im confused... looks like an european toilet to me.
Hi Kamal - the purpose of the video is to share design ideas and show the inside of an Iranian apartment and how some Persians live -it's not to sell the place.
Haha they have a baby now! The next time I visit Iran I'll have to see how the place is holding up LOL Actually not a baby anymore - she's already almost 4! BUt I haven't been to Iran since then :(
Really disappointed in how small the apartments are you are showing us. And the decor seems very cold and impersonal. Tile flooring is very popular in Latin America as well due to it being so durable and easy to clean..but it is very cold on bare feet and very hard on your joints. Carpet is a luxury in the Middle East that most cannot afford to have or upkeep..and one I cannot live without due to it's soft warmth. These small apartments are probably fine for single people..but I can't imagine families living in them due to the lack of privacy and space. Thanks for the showing!
Im Iranian living in Tehran your sentences do not make any sense! Tehran is not as cold as some places you mentioned. our floors cover with tile becuase of dusting and we can clean them so fast. Iranian women and men care about cleaning their house so much. Morover, Tehran is a small city geographically but crowded like many capital cities like newyork, london and paris. so, Its important for us to near to our workplace or institution. sometimes, Iranian people prefer living in small flats near their workplace instead of living around city, in calm area. this area is a upper-class neighborhood and this flat is not cheap if you want to buy it. One thing I see that is a big difference between Iranian new generation and other countries youth, is Iranian want to buy house even small due to inflation in our country. but you didnt see juveniles in USA, in their 20s, think about buying a house like that. Im sorry I hope you understand why they choose small flat instead of open and wide spacious house
I love how well the space is divided for how small it is. I'm American and I rarely see apartments make such a great use of space.
Yes it's small but so functional. Thanks for watching! :)
Such a beautiful place! I am so glad to see this. Thank you for sharing this and thanks to your cousin for allowing you to share his home with us!
Thanks so much for taking the tour! So glad you enjoyed it and I will pass your compliments on to my cousin! :)
This is such a modern looking, happy and colorful, yet not crowded place to live. Enjoyed your video, actually all of your videos, totally.
Isn't it!? I just fell in love with this apartment the moment I saw it. And thank you so much for the compliments on my videos, Essi! So exciting to be able to share them with others. Thank you!!

Thank you so much for taking us in Iran... I will go there some time!" Merci.
Thank you so much for watching! It's my dream for more people to visit Iran and see how cosmopolitan it really is! I hope you can visit someday!
It will happen...I hear more and more people going there! :-)
Keeping my fingers crossed! :D
Thank you for taking us into this home!! Tile floors keep everything cool!
Thanks for watching, Angie! Yes, they really do!
What a wonderful cultural exchange. Thank you so much. Hubby and I have enjoyed both tours of the apts. in Tehran. So interesting.

Hi Mahsa!! Thanks so much for watching! I have several other Iran-related videos on my channel, too if you haven't seen those, they might be of interest to you :)
Love the colourful sofas!
Those might be my favorite part, too - and the fact that they were so comfortable made them a million times better!
I just saw your KC video today. I wish I could find a one bedroom like your studio here. By the way, I love the view from this apartment.
Aww I sure do miss my little studio...only thing that would have made it perfect was windows with a view like this one :)
