Money, Power and influence aren’t exactly very easy to come by, believe me, it takes time, effort, and a healthy amount of under the table dealings to achieve these things. Or if you’re lucky enough you’ll be born into a family that already has.
Over the centuries these particular families have managed to accumulate insane amounts of money, power and influence. Subsequently using it to place themselves in very convenient and important parts of society.
These are families so powerful, they’ve basically won the economic game, and done a tiny bit of shaping society to their whims, these are some of the most powerful families in the world.

exactly....i used to have a favorite place to ride my (adult) recumbent trike that was a cemetery about a mile from my home....the small paved roads that wound all throughout this large cemetery made it like my own personal bike park....the hours i spent riding there gave me time to ponder that it didn’t matter how rich someone was in life, they still end up decomposing 6 ft under with everyone else.

As most of us can't really "afford" to do this, yet I keep thinking we can't afford not to do it. Poverty is absolutely the natural state. Wealth is accumulated over time via capital accumulation. We stand on the shoulders of our ancestors who invested their minds, time, labor, and resources into building all that we have today.
Abundance is our birthright, but access to resources and the allocation/distribution of such seem very imbalanced. More people seem to be homeless, priced out of their rental units through gentrification, or bc their wages have not increased enough to help in their livelihoods. IMO, competition needs to be replaced with cooperation. Those who have more wealth have the responsibility to share compassionately with some of the less fortunate.

I live in a small town and I do not shop at Walmart because it has too many people. Plus, the prices are not as low as the local grocery stores around my home. Walmart is not as popular as one may think in smaller towns or cities. I personally love to support family owned local businesses before going to a major chain.
I try to go to a local ACE hardware before going to Home Depot or Lowe’s.
