When Kenny says "it's more excessive" it's like saying 100 is greater than 80, but forgetting that 80 is much greater than 0. Sure it looked like a harder hit, but the hit in the first place comes from a baseline of nothing happening, so to suddenly go from zero to potential broken ribs is way more serious than being pushed in the back. Plus Joker didn't see it coming either, so don't even start with being mad that Morris had his back turned. Jokic suspension is fine in my books. It's only one game, but his message to the league will resonate much longer than that. There is no taking liberties on Jokic, he's willing to retaliate if necessary. And I believe the whole league take note of it for the rest of his career. So definitely worth taking a suspension.

@Lastly more I'm not sure that is what message is actually being sent. Players (or even coaches) could strategize against Jokic by getting him to retaliate against some scrub bench player, to possible get him out the game. Don't get me wrong. I actually don't have a problem with Jokic defending himself. I have a problem with the instigator getting a slap on the wrist instead. That could possibly encourage more attacks on Jokic, not less. I understand and respect the 1 game suspension on Jokic, but MM got off easy on this one.

Jokic deserves to be suspended, AND SO DOES MORRIS. NBA is sending the wrong message here

I don’t think Jokic was more excessive. I think Morris is more of an actor. Or in the hood, more of a bitch. And yes, starting it should come with heavier penalties. Even if you deem the REaction more excessive there would be no REaction without the initial ACTION. Morris is definitely more guilty, imo.

"The Hood" , lmao , this is the NBA and basketball. Both got what they deserved. Jokic could have done nothing, and Morris still would have been fined.

By the letter of the law…. When someone hits you… You can now legally tune their ass up… We are in a fight now… Jokic should have got the 50k Morris the suspension.
How about the refs lose a game for not calling the Flagrant 2 on Morris immediately…. What were they doing????
No whistle until Joker hits him back…
    What a joke

ITs interesting how biased nazes say reaction was "too much". He didnt foul Jokic, it was not to stop him, he wasnt in chance, it was to hurt him. It was intended malevolent attempt to really hurt a guy. So he got slapped back.

The thing no one talking bout is how exposed the Joker's ribs were. Morris could easily have bruised a rib that would cost Jokic a lot of games plus ongoing problems when he returns. And that's not even breaking it. Either thing could have happened. Morris one of the biggest fake tough guys in the league.
