This game never clicked for me through the years tbh. I gave it so many shots and put about 15 hours in before saying it wasn’t for me. I decided to give it another shot on the switch and I’ve been hooked since I picked it up. This switch port is absolutely unreal and IMO one of the best ports on the platform. It’s weird I find myself loving and completing games on the Switch I didn’t like or never finished on other platforms.
I have games like that. No Man's Sky was a game I didn't get into until the Switch and now I'm obsessed with it. I don't mind the Switch "tax" when it comes to visuals, just love playing games on the go or at home
@@saimrahman4420 There's so many games I prefer on Switch. I do have a Series X and Gaming Laptop but IDK Switch just feels better to play in some cases despite the compromises.
@@whatsitlikeau I've enjoyed playing Doom Eternal, Subnautica, Resident Evil 5, and a few others I enjoyed more on my Switch. I'm just hoping for the Switch 2 to be very good so I can enjoy the more demanding games, specifically Resident Evil 4 remastered and the newer Assassin creed games
I thoroughly enjoyed this game on my 65" OLED, BUT.... I had same problem with cyberpunk. I just couldn't get into it. I then fired it up on my Legion GO, all of a sudden I had a 100 hour play through on my hands.
Thanks mate. I realised I missed a lot of combat training by not reporting back to the Captain! There's so much to do and I'm loving the game. How are you gents finding it?

@@whatsitlikeauthat’s a big life change sorry to hear! I lost my dad last December in 2022. It’s been pretty lonely plus I just turned 30 a few months ago and terrified and lonely. Sometimes I enjoy a game every now and then.
May your father fully recover and live his best life eventually. And this game runs like a dream. Thanks for the review. I've been playing nonstop. Just gotta get the weapon positioning down, I pretty much just stab with swords (partial to that Piercer) and jab with the hammer to get the enemy off his game and then I swing like hell. Train, train and TRAIN! Apply those perks too and you'll be good af soon 😃
Thank you for the kind words, unfortunately it can't be cured but he has a great support network and is a fighter. I took the training for granted in this game and ended up going back to the Captain in Rattay to train and train some more. Well worth the effort!
Yes, they did a good job. The performance dips don't take away much from the game and I was blown away by the amount of content in it. Can't wait to play it some more again, and I daresay this will be on the third "Best Switch Ports" list when I get to it!
I first watched this review on my mobile device and I thought if this how it looks like in handheld mode then that is awesome, now I am excited to pick up my copy. Does it utilize an optional motion control especially on combat? because that's one feature I think that should be utilized in this kind of game on Switch. Sad to hear your dad contracted myeloma, that must be a blow to the family. Keep on fighting.
The game looks decent, but not the best. Think Witcher 3 on Switch perhaps. No motion control but a very complex combat system. Thank you for your kind words. He's a legend and we think he's an amazing man.
I never really liked first person games but for some reason I had a change of heart in recent years.. Maybe because they’ve improved the frame rates so makes motion sickness less of a thing.. This looks right up my alley being I kinda like those medieval themes.. Only thing that I’m concerned about is the controls.. It’s been compared to Bannerlord & I just couldn’t get that one down as far as control adaptability
Combat can be complex control wise to be honest, but it's done that way as your character is a commoner. The more you spar with the Captain to train, the more moves and deflects you learn, making combat easier. I don't think I hit a single target when fist trying the bow out hahaha!
One of my favorite games ever made! I can't believe it's on switch. I remember having trouble running it on my ps4 lol Guess it's time to dive back in : ) Cheers and insta-subbed!

I really cannot comprehend the scores! This is one of the most stunning looking ports on the Switch, so it should be at least a 9/10 for graphics! Vice versa, this game plays like crap! It's the equivalent of a deranged drill instructor forcing you to run 10km while having a 4 inch nail stuck in your foot. So 1/10 for gameplay would be appropiate. Generally speaking: anyone who got strong masochistic tendencies might enjoy this game, but for everyone else, avoid this thing like the plague! I cannot remember when i last hated a game that much... Saber should have put their marvellous porting skills into some other game, indeed!
Thank you for sharing your experience with the game. Some people may hate the mechanics behind the gameplay and that's ok, games certainly aren't a one-size-fits-all.
Difficult to master but work well. At first you don't learn any skills so combat is basic, but then you train with soldiers and learn more moves, even an unblockable one that comes in handy. The more you use your bow and sword, the better your character gets. Bows in particular are very difficult to use but that's how the game helps you progress.
