  • This auto-clamping power assist really does set itself apart from the competition. There are many options currently available on the market but no front attached, power assist has the option to automatically attach itself to the users wheelchair.
In this video we explore the PAWS Power assist 'auto, auto'. Manual attachment is an option however, naturally as this is more unique, we thought it'd be worth the test/demonstration.

Nice video! What is the ‘’life expectancy’’ of the motor in kilometers?
    Thanks!

Can you raise the handle bars to a higher position? They seem quite low when you're in full driving mode. I'd feel you have more body stability when driving with a higher handle bar level, especially if you're a tetra without active trunk muscular support. The video is good, but you could add more information about speed and battery options. What is needed in my opinion is a side mirror, or at least the option for one.

So on a standard battery under optical conditions (basically driving on flat, paved surfaces like in the video) you're getting a range of 25 miles/40 kilometers. From someone who has used devices such as this (recently a Speedy Electra 2 user), definitely invest in an extra battery which will double your theoretical range. Often, you'll be dealing with hills, possibly gravel/dirt paths, cobblestones, etc. as well as your own weight, the weight of your chair, so having that extra power IMO is mandatory. The last thing you want is to get stranded, or have your activities cut short because you have to head back home for a recharge.

Thank you so much for getting in touch. I couldn't agree more, there are naturally many adjustment/setup changes available for the user. There are also tetra control options too, this would be discussed and prescribed throughout the assessment.

Thank you for getting in touch Paul, the R90 is launching this year and we have a launch event next week so hopefully it'll be demonstrated then. As soon as we can review it, we will!

I have tried one in rehabilitation center, and one of the most negative features is that it's brakes so hard with noticeable impact on steering. The other flaw is front light. It's just a small spot of light and it's absolutely useless.
