Very nice! I am happy that this is more fun vehicle as well as more usable then Type 69. Originally designed in 80s in Martin (Czechoslovakia, today Slovakia). It is based on BVP-1 as you mentioned with slight chasiss modification. Capable to retract stuck vehicles up to 15 tons. Designed weight 14,3 tons (slightly heavier than BVP-1) with max speed about 60km/h. Crane capacity 6,5 tons, Winch force 125kN (120m of cable) - there should be welder included (welding up to 300A, 10m of cables with 30min capability for non stop welding - powered by dynamo, driven by the engine..

the weird box in the exhaust system is probably a water box, they use the same thing in boats. the geometry of the box basically prevents water from finding its way backwards through the exhaust system into the engine. that way, you should be able to turn the engine off while in the water.

The exhaust pulls air through the radiator above the box. Bmp doesnt have a cooling fan to cool the engine. Just the exhaust '' siphon''. The wires and valves at the exhaust manifold are there to prevent water coming back through the manifold when swimming.

Hi MasterMilo - when I served in the Czech Army years ago, I was the commander of this BVP. It is a beast, and very easy to control. I've been following your work for a long time, and I'm a big fan of you. Keep it up :)
BVP was built in czechoslovakia in slovakia part in ZTS - Závody Ťažkého Strojárstva (heavy machine industries) engines were built Martin, canons and guns in Dubnica, gearboxes in Hriňová, vehicles were assembled in Dubnica or Detva where they were tested. BMP is never totally waterproof, that's why you have pumps there to be used during swimming. The gearbox is actually quite simply, it uses hydraulic power to operate the steering and gears. It has steering brake and steering clutch and finally the track brake to use for turning. You can also turn it by moving the steering "wheel" only a little bit so you disconnect power to the other side completely and then you can steer by giving more gas. In downhill when coasting this turning method works opposite way, you go left when you turn right because of the free movement of the disconnected track. By turning the wheel to first point you connect steering clutch and you get certain turn radius. Basically you never use the track brakes to turn as it causes so much stress for the tracks and wheels, though sometimes it can be useful. Reverse track brake turning can pop out the track. By using the divider (12:05) on the left side of the steering wheel you can connect the steering clutches and so your gearing halves but then you can only turn by using track brakes, that's why it goes loose. It also has air pressure as backup system to operate the brakes or you can make it work totally manually in the case of towing. There are 14 bar 65 bar air systems in the vehicle. In the cause of stalling the engine, it is possible to get it out of gear by using the air pressure. The clutch backup system uses 14 bar air pressure line. The gearbox should make about 2 bars of oil pressure. Track tensions should be about 6-8mm measured with plumb line. Clutch claws need to be set to 6,7mm. The engine has no thermostat so you control the heat of it by yourself with the handle on the right side in drivers compartment. If the vehicle is stored outside you should cover the cooler and close the cooling flaps and also open a valve in the bottom of the exhaust to allow water to come out so it won't go in cylinders or cover the exhaust with something as well. Exhaust also works as cooler and air filter in this machine by using pressure difference. So it doesn't have changeable air filter like most vehicles. Exhaust gases goes out from under the cooler and thus sucks air through the cooler. Oh man, all this came to my mind after this video as an old BMP crewman. Rated for 5t, having printed DO NOT EXCEED 5000kg on the side? Sounds like it should take 6,5t, maybe even a 7t turret just fine! -- said every russian engineer ever xD
This thing with rockets gives me War Thunder flashbacks
Didn't even use the missile until I got the BMP-1P variant
Czech people army CSLA signed vehicle made in Martin, Slovakia! Congrats...
It seems to be a copy of soviet БРЭМ-2 (armored repair evacuation machine based at BMP-1) VPV - what does it mean? Vehicle P? V?
It was build in Czechoslovakia. Completed in cities of Detva and Dubnica today Slovakia. So its not really fair to say they were made in Czech Republic.
Amphibious, bicycle steering handle, and a large bay to load kopi and tobacco from the colonies...
Can't get anymore Dutch than this...
I almost learnt German watching Dark now I will learn Dutch from MasterMilo
Gaan jullie ook een Helicopter bouwen?

rules for the use of the night-time branch
1. for night observation is necessary
- set the mirror flaps to the hi position
- turn on the power to the device; turn on the infrared lamp
- set the paw of the movable screen to the pale opening
- paw the lamella screen to set the normal brightness of the shade
2. run an observation to protect the device against the ingress of strong light as follows
- with the paw of the lamella screen to reduce the amount of light falling into the device
- cover the field of view by a movable screen, or switch off the power supply if there is too much light on the device.
3. without the urgent need not to forget the infrared headlight - danger of detection
4. after the observation, switch off the infrared light and the power supply of the device; close the movable and lamella screen, set the folding mirror paw to position "D"
Ofwel, post wat detail foto's van de teksten. Dan helpen de mensen je wel :)
(Post details of the texts so people will help out)
Not knowing the language sitting here thinking, Russian..... nah that doesn’t sound right..... German....... it seems close. Looks at captions ah Dutch.
Complimenten voor jullie video’s en hoe jullie dit aanpakken. Zo tof! Mijn zoon en ik zijn lichtelijk verslaafd 🤣
I drove this bullshit ( with 76 mm canon ) in Bulgaria 1986 .
How much you paid for a scrap metal
*Oh, another Soviet beast to restore!!! AWESOME!* :D
Certainly very different to back in the days of messing about with a little french VSP with a wooden floor and a twin-cylinder diesel engine, this thing would have crushed that little car with the driver not feeling so much as a light bump... :P
Milo! Do you not have faith in your skills fixing the tank? You've already bought a vehicle to recover it with? Seriously though, way too cool. Can't wait to see them both running.
BMP? ... vage herinnering ... BMD ... Boot Met Deuk ... amfibisch! Dat was 't ezelsbruggetje in militaire dienst.
BVP from Czech army...🤣greetings from Czech rep. 👋
Nice. 2 reserve military vehicles. Maybe even painted a nice orange color. Ask some dutch military "recruits" to maybe take for a small spin! lol.
Where do you get the patience to start another huge project ? That’s the beauty of youth I guess, I’m 71 so too old to consider such a project. Good luck to you it’s marvellous 👍
Greetings From Czech Republic :)
This world needs more mad Dutchmen. Enjoy the project 👌😋😀😀
Dommage qu’il n’y a pas de commentaires en Français. Amitiés de France ( Chris 77 Seine-et-Marne)
When you mentioned 'papers' in connection with the tank turret.... Do you mean from the Proof House, to say that the cannon has been permanently disabled?
With these combustion engine machines, I find it safety reason there is no central electronics computer or chip controlling it, so that can test parts individually. It would be dangerous to always run all systems full capacity to test some small part, in complex machines like tanks or trucks.
you guys are ready for a pandemic or apocalyptic event..wait a minute 😐 guys did you knew about this?
yes old czechoslovakia thing, pretty cheap in czech republic :) we still got few
Ruim de werkplaats op!
It's un better condition than T55. Is going to be running in a short Time. Good worker and program, greetings from chile
When will you buy a MIG-21?
I think after German unification, the Germans wanted to keep these , but emissions were a problem as with most Eastern Bloc vehicles.
greeting from Czechia :D nice choice
Soon this guy will buy a Russian U-Boat from Putin Himself! 👍 😄 👍
It looks like they used it for spares. I bet it won't be cheap getting those hydraulic bits, as they must be as rare as rocking horse shit.
To call this vehicle Bmp-1 is incorrect
Possible would be Bmp-1 chassis
This beats the hell out of projects like using pancake syrup as motor oil!
