I remember some sort of instruction with these BMP's was to try and flank to the rear and use a AT weapon like the Karl Gustav and aim it to the middle pillar between rear doors which would explode the fuel tanks in the rear doors and also hit the central fuel tank in the troop section causing them to "brew up" which is a particular British term where a tank burns internally before exploding leaving a gutted shell and usually personnel who can't open hatches due to heat deforming. The "brew" erases everything inside as it burns super hot, especially when the fire hits the self destruct charges which the Soviets were quite happy about as no secrets lost that way and crew/troops were readily available.
Looking forward to the restoration (and the completion of the Type-69.). At some point, it might be fun for you to point out that the rear access doors bulge the way they do because they double as auxiliary fuel tanks!

BMP is never totally waterproof, that's why you have pumps there to be used during swimming. The gearbox is actually quite simply, it uses hydraulic power to operate the steering and gears. It has steering brake and steering clutch and finally the track brake to use for turning. You can also turn it by moving the steering "wheel" only a little bit so you disconnect power to the other side completely and then you can steer by giving more gas. In downhill when coasting this turning method works opposite way, you go left when you turn right because of the free movement of the disconnected track. By turning the wheel to first point you connect steering clutch and you get certain turn radius. Basically you never use the track brakes to turn as it causes so much stress for the tracks and wheels, though sometimes it can be useful. Reverse track brake turning can pop out the track. By using the divider (12:05) on the left side of the steering wheel you can connect the steering clutches and so your gearing halves but then you can only turn by using track brakes, that's why it goes loose. It also has air pressure as backup system to operate the brakes or you can make it work totally manually in the case of towing. There are 14 bar 65 bar air systems in the vehicle. In the cause of stalling the engine, it is possible to get it out of gear by using the air pressure. The clutch backup system uses 14 bar air pressure line. The gearbox should make about 2 bars of oil pressure. Track tensions should be about 6-8mm measured with plumb line. Clutch claws need to be set to 6,7mm. The engine has no thermostat so you control the heat of it by yourself with the handle on the right side in drivers compartment. If the vehicle is stored outside you should cover the cooler and close the cooling flaps and also open a valve in the bottom of the exhaust to allow water to come out so it won't go in cylinders or cover the exhaust with something as well. Exhaust also works as cooler and air filter in this machine by using pressure difference. So it doesn't have changeable air filter like most vehicles. Exhaust gases goes out from under the cooler and thus sucks air through the cooler. Oh man, all this came to my mind after this video as an old BMP crewman. I don't know if anybody needs this information, but here you go :D I wish I can buy my own BMP one day to get the joys of driving it again.
Where do you get the patience to start another huge project ? That’s the beauty of youth I guess, I’m 71 so too old to consider such a project. Good luck to you it’s marvellous 👍
With the engine at the front a front sprocket drive is best, with a rear engine vehicle you want a rear drive sprocket. The only real disadvantage is that there is a little more strain on the track links...

I don't know if anybody needs this information, but here you go :D
I wish I can buy my own BMP one day to get the joys of driving it again.
Wohooo! A new and very nice tank👌! Can‘t wait to watch the restauration videos. Keep up the good work 😊👍
I wondered what the hold up was on the turret.
Now I know.

Greetings from my home country, Czech Republic!
Great Projects,I like your attitude and enthusium.
Thank you for sharing.
i remember watching you build some wild cars, this is absolutely amazing!!
Big up from Czech Republic ✌️ !!!
you can see at 2:21 Czech army symbol, flag in the ring. So i suppose this piece of metal is from Czech Republic originally.
It´s called BVP.
Greetings from Czech! Enjoy your "new" tank :D
Love the comment. We still use 850 of BMP-1 here in Poland. Not modified at all. This is sick!...and hilarious at the same time XD
@@HanSolo__ what is not sick and hilarious in Poland at the same time? 😅
@@runt0r Not much, thats for sure. This place is pure craziness, but I love it! XD

"This is the horn, it's located inside, so you hear it the best yourself and outside they don't hear anything."
investing in the apocalypse, you doing it the right sir :)
Thanks nice a APC, waiting a new project. And love you vlog, salute to all fm Malaysia.
Did you check these tanks with a radiation meter? I doubt there's anything significant, but you know how it is, best to check and not worry rather than find out too late.
The air pipes: do the tank have an internal supply of filtered air (ie NBC protection.) The masks has an attachment for a clean air pipe.
Greetings from Czech Republic
поздравляю с приобретением! лучше тачки для поездки за пивом нет. удачи пацаны...
Als MasterMilo zo door gaat, gaat hij meer diesel verbruiken dan een zwaartransport bedrijf😂😂😂.
