    Absolutely superb! I was going to the parade but was completely isolated because of tube services being cut off. You were standing right where I had planned to stand! Thank you for posting. (I don’t have a TV Licence so you vid is very much appreciated as is all the work you do!)

    From 1:30 there is a collection of Moto Guzzi motorcycles accompanying the Genoa contingent. Giorgio Parodi was from Genoa and founded the company with Carlo Guzzi in 1921 in Mandello del Lario, on Lake Como, Italy. Moto Guzzi celebrated its Centenary in 2021 and is the motorcycle manufacturer longest in continuous production in Europe.

    Is that a Armistice Day

    • @ScottyBugler2005
      @ScottyBugler2005 7 месяцев назад

      No. It’s the day before Armistice Sunday. The Lord Mayors Parade always takes place the day before.

    I wanna know why that band chose to play Thriller for a parade like this XD
    It was kinda fun to hear a British band playing that on a British day of political celebration.

      The Lord Mayor's Show isn't political. It's a civic and ceremonial event to show the citizens of The City of London their new mayor.

      It's more like a posh carnival parade not a military parade a mix of both with floats from organisations and company in the city, and yes military, old vehicles as well

    There were two huge straw figures in start of parade they looked like American Native Americans. What did they represent?

      What are you on about. It’s a historical parade that has taken place since the Middle Ages. What are you talking about crazy people ? Why is it fucked up ? There’s loads of people that take part in the parade because a prestigious event that is televised and has historical significance. Dick Whittington was actually a Lord Mayor Of London 3 times. In the late 1390s for his first tenure and then again two more tenures as Lord Mayor in the early part of the 1400s. The story of how he went on to become Lord Mayor Of London may have been embellished. But he was someone who clearly left a mark on history that people would write a story about him many years later. I believe the parade initially started as a flotilla of barges travelling along the Thames River. I’m sure you have parades where you come from, or don’t you ?

      Blimey don't you want traditional things in uk, 600 plus years those bells have rung to welcome the new lord mayor, it's a major part of the whole day
