I know this is an older program but when you get a free moment check out Blackberry Smoke, a song called One Horse Town. I think you might like it. Thanks for all the great programs. Your awesome lady.
Amber , this song applies to me directly . In the spring time here , we had signed up for weekly group guitar lessons. One of the early activities presented to us by the instructor was to learn this specific song. The way he presented it to us was definitively confusing how we were supposed to approach the strumming portion. When you referred to the strum pattern as a sort of swing , and then played that portion , it made much more sense. Our instructor was insisting on the double up strum. Even if that was the correct way that it was composed , it was more than our group was ready for as beginners . Your explanation makes all the sense in the world .... now I want to try it again instead of not wanting to do that song ever again ! : )
So please to hear my explanation of the strumming pattern has helped you! 😃🌟 comments like this really help me to understand what my students need and what helps them. Sometimes guitar teachers just skip waaaay too far ahead 🙈 I’m sorry you had that experience. I’m just so happy you can now play this song with more confidence and enjoyment 😃 🐴 🎶🙏
Thanks so much for the lovely feedback and compliments 🙏🎶✨ it means so much and keeps me motivated to create more lessons! Glad you are having lovely weather in KC! The UAE is currently sweltering 😂
Hi David - you know that’s such a good point about such a great song having only 2 chords. I absolutely agree👏🏻🎶 I guess America knew what they were doing when they wrote it. It’s such a good song so many years later 🙏
Hello, Amber, great pieces to learn, by the way, I think it's also available on garageband under apple in the downloaded courses, Congratulations, your work is really incredible Thank you for everything, good Sunday, maybe you'll have a subscriber who will change your means. of locomotion replace the oars with a horse 😋 MDR
Hi! Not using a pick is totally fine. It’s a personal preference. With regards to strumming and rhythm, this is something that becomes better with practice. It is always best to practice with just down strums on beat 1 2 3 4 first, before adding any up strums. 🙌
The program has an entire module dedicated to rhythm. We work on that a lot. As well as changing between chords in time to jam tracks. If this step is skipped, playing along to songs can feel difficult and not sound as smooth as you would like. It is a beginner program, so I do start from the absolute beginning. I’ve had students join the program who have been trying to learn guitar for over a year and the program has filled in many gaps in their guitar knowledge. I don’t skip steps, but by the end of the program, you will absolutely feel more confident as a musician and guitarist. Let me know if you have any other questions, it would be awesome to welcome you into the program 🎸🙌

Hello 👋🏻 thank you very much for such a lovely message. Guitar does not need to be complicated. It can be simplified and fun 🎸🎶 thanks for tuning in

Once again you left out the third verse and outro.. and in the chorus their is a third cord you are missing 😊
Hi Shawn, I only offer full play throughs of the song to my students inside the Stellar Academy in my live lessons with them. 👍🏻
