Saga Draws good luck, I’ve been drawing for 4-5 years and it’s been somewhat of a roller coaster ride, you have ups and downs, my best advice is to not copy others work but to do your own and make your own unique style and experiment with it and take your time, study anatomy and shadowing and how light bends around an object, do different characters and styles e.g realistic, comic book, concept art, anime, portraits e.t.c.
      Best of luck my friend.
      God bless

I know your professional work but just found your channel. I've been binge watching and I'm amazed! I used to draw and when I was younger I thought I'd draw comics for a living. But as I got older, I lost my imagination. I began to draw more "still life" or photos even. But ive even stopped doing that (due to life and stuff). But watching you draw makes me feel like a kid again. As I see your picture take shape I get all "gitty" and find myself giggling with enjoyment!

I'm a visually kinesthetic learner. Meaning i have to actually see what i'm trying to learn, annalise it, then do it myself. So this genuinely helped me better understand shadow for a figure, as well as how to better draw those figures. (I may have accidentally analyzed how you draw the figures for penciling, then figured out how to put that into ink. Now i just need to practice it.)

Thank you Mr. Finch, for inspiration and instruction! I was into comics and drawing back in the 90´s but I stopped couple of years before the first X-men-film came out (I live in finland and floppies were pretty rare here, most (mostly Marvel, some DC) comics were trades, compiled by the finnish publisher from all over the place (i.e. "X-Men" was basically a "best of" collection from every X-title from the late 80s to mid-90s, and it was impossible to follow...)
I started drawing again 18 months ago, since Chris Nolan's DK-trilogy got me slowly back into comics. The Snyder/Capullo-run on Batman changed me from a Batman-fan who used to like Daredevil, Wolverine and Punisher to a Batman-fan who loves all things DC-related and likes some things Marvel-related.
I'm 33yrs old so the fact that I'm a guitarist, first and foremost, it helps a lot since I've trained myself to practice new things. To some extent I know what to practice but it's getting harder and harder. Shading has been hard as ****.... So thank you!

Too few artists coming up today seem to grasp fundamental three-dimensionality. They just don't understand how to shade basic forms, and don't realize anatomical detail alone won't save a drawing. I greatly admire the work of artist/inker Rudy Nebres, who take things one step further and adds reflected light to further define and reveal form. He can get carried away sometimes (lol) but when firing on all cylinders, I think his work is amazing. Mr. Nebres is retired, but still doing commissions: The two of you should get together on something!

I just regret I have never had (and never will have) the patience to do those kinda of detailed drawings. I usually only spend a few minutes on a drawing, then stop, watch what I've done and deem it fit to be thrown to the trash can.
